Itunes frozen.

I need some help guys. Just updated Itunes for the new 7.7 update and now Itunes freezes when I connect my touch. Tried to install a older version of itunes, but then it said some crap about the libary being to old or something like that. what is wrong? is it a bug in the new update or what? I am desperate to know since im leaving for vacation in a few days and need to update my Ipod.

Hey, I'm having a similar problem. I'm not sure if it started when I installed the new itunes, I can't remember if I'd tried updating my music since then. Anyway, when I connect my ipod, itunes freezes instantly, so I can't update any of my music. Other than that, both are working perfectly. Itunes doesn't have any problems that I've noticed until I connect my ipod, and I haven't had any problems with my Ipod. The first time this happened my ipod wouldn't disconnect safely and then froze until the battery died and I recharged it. The few times I've tried since then, my ipod has disconnected safely and had no problems, but itunes still freezes. Any help would be very much appreciated, because this is exremely frustrating! I'm not great with technology so I have absolutely no idea what to do!

my itouch has been frozen with the connect to itunes screen for a few days now. when i plug it into itunes it says unable to connect put in passcode. but i cant put in my passcode because of it being frozen. I've already tried reseting it but it doesn't work

You cannot do anything with the iPad until you do as instructed by the iPad and connect to iTunes on a computer.
You probably need to restore the iPad and the only way to do that is via iTunes on a computer.
Take it to an Apple Store and ask for help at a Genius bar or take it to a friend's house that is running iTunes on their computer and try to restore it.
You will lose all of your data and settings now because you never backed the iPad up in the past.

Ipod and itunes frozen.

Ok, I plugged in my ipod (video 30 GB; 5th generation) into my computer and loaded itunes. itunes began to download my podcasts (so far so good). Then, I minimized itunes, and about 45 minutes later I went back to it, and tried to close it. The 'Send Error Report' (for IE) came up and closed iTunes down :O! After that, my Ipod COMPLETELY froze; the do not disconnect sign didn't blink like it normally did, and it's not charging. I tried to end the USB task so I could disconnect it, but it says iTunes is still running (which it's not even in the task manager).
I don't want to disconnect it, and I have to close down my computer soon. I need help fast. D: My computer is running fine, it's just my Ipod that's frozen.

Got it working again, but I've only tried putting a few songs back on it. The auto process kept hanging. Listening to a new album I bought and it keeps skipping within songs. It doesn't always do it, and if I go back and listen to the skipped song it plays fine. Though once it wouldn't go back and I had to force it to restart.

ITunes frozen in middle of importing

None of the buttons responding to mouse, stopped importing in the middle of CD, Cd kept playing till end of track, then no longer continued.
Other programs still work, internet access still ok (hence I am here asking this question!), but I don't want to switch off computer without some advice. I pressed eject and took the cd out, but iTunes is frozen.
What should I do? Is it cntrl/alt/del ??? to reboot? I just bought this computer and new to it all.

This happened to me, first try and wait for a couple of days, then if that didn't work try plugging it into a USB and is that doesnt work to terminate a program hold the home and lock button together for 10 seconds try this if not sorry.

I think I may have found out how to do it. Turns out there's a setting in Edit -> Preferences -> Store that says, "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings."
Needless to say, this setting creates complete nightmares for people who want functioning podcasts on the iPhone without using some other app.

i have a weierd problem in my itunes on ipad which is in my update list , i can't update my apps and instead of showing the word update in any app , instead it is open despite the fact that is a new update , i tried everything but nothing changed , i can download new apps but i can't update my list , the list is frozen now

The 'Open' button indicates that you've already downloaded the update for that app and that the app is up-to-date on your iPad - some of those apps that have 'open' against them have new updates available in the store ? With iOS 7 after downloading an update to an app it will remain in the Updates tab in the App Store app for 30 days, after which it will disappear off the list.
If those apps do have new updates but they show 'open' against them then what have you tried ? Have you tried closing the App Store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if the apps have 'Update' against them when you re-open the app ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Spinning Ball, iTunes Frozen

All of my music is on my external hard drive. I created a new iTunes library, placing it on my laptop hard drive. In the iTunes preferences, I indicated the laptop hard drive as the location of my library, and then imported my music into the iTunes library. However, all I get is the spinning ball in iTunes when I try to play music.

IPhone error message in iTunes, frozen iPhone

Bit of background, I have to iPhone 3GS with 4.1.something.
The computer it's synced to is running windows XP.
Two weeks ago my lock button stopped working, I now have to leave it out for a minute to lock (although the button still works when the phone is off and you turn it on).
Just today I tried to unlock my phone when it froze, totally unresponsive.
I tried to reset it, doesnt work with my dodgy button.
I tried to sync it to iTunes, and I get this message:
"iTunes could not connect to iPhone because an invalid response was recieved from the device."
I have the latest iTunes and the apple driver etc...
anyone know how to help me?

Create a new user account on your mac, delete this app from your phone, you can download it again for free if it is not the culprit. Then log in with that new account, disable autosync in itunes and connect your phone. Transfer your purchases by right clicking on your phone in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases". Then try to move some apps on your iphone screen and sync afterwards. If you're having no problems doing this, the app you where talking about was the culprit.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. The update appears to have taken - the phone now works, after several hiccups in the update process. I appear to have lost my photos, calendar entries, etc. When I plug the phone into my mac, iTunes sees the iPhone but I just see the spinning ball and it does not allow me to do anything with it. Is there anything I can to do bring my iPhone back to normalcy? Do I need to go to the genius bar? (Which is probably really crowded because of the iPhone 4S release).

ITunes frozen - keep getting "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read" message?

I downloaded a new version of iTunes to a PC running Vista Home premium. I used the Windows 64 bit installer mentioned on the iTunes site. Since then nothing works. I tried uninstalling iTunes and all the library files (I dont even care if I lose the old music) and reinstalled iTunes and still get the message.
I fould a You Tube video on the problem but it didnt work for me. It frankly was a little hard to follow and maybe i didnt do it right.
Why does someone have to be a computer programmer to use Apple products? The iTunes is for use with an Ipad and Ipod.

HT4623 update itunes frozen stuck phone

my phone is stuck with the itunes logo and cord on the screen. i don't want to lose all my data. ideas? i can't get into Genius bar until tomorrow.

Recovery mode requires an internet connection. LauraWoo uses the iPhone as the internet connection for their computer. Therefore, the computer does not have internet access, so your recommendation is incomplete.

ITunes frozen - HELP!!!!

Computer started downloading podcasts automatically upon start and then froze (rainbow pinwheel). After force quitting, each time I open iTunes again it hangs - and looks like it is trying to download the same podcasts it left off with - but instantly is "not responding." Have to force quit again and again.
I have restarted, and cleared the PRAM.
Please help. Thanks so much.

Forgot to mention that I have my Library on a Time Capsule - so I can't turn off the airport so that it ignores the download.

Is there a way to go back to prior versions of itunes to work around the bug of 10.5.2? If not, what is the fix to be able to run itunes if the bug has shut down the programs functionality?

Download the Windows Install Clean-up.

Then go to the list of Programs on your computer and find the Windows Install Cleanup. It will be listed at the end of the list of programs starting with "Windows". Open it and remove the following programs form the list by using the Ctrl tab on your computer to highlight these programs (If there are more than 1 version listed, remove all versions): iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bon Jour, and Apple Application Support. Remove these programs. After these programs are removed, go to iTunes website and download the new version of iTunes. You do not need to restart your computer. This worked like a charm for me!
