Itunes gets shut down by ie (dep program)

Question

I updated iTunes and now Internet Explorer is not allowing ActiveX controls and the Data Execution Prevention program is blocking iTunes from working and shutting it down

I had a similar problem on 32-bit Vista after I updated to iTunes v. 11.2.2.  Windows DEP kept closing iTunes - and each time I manually closed iTunes my computer would freeze for about 30 seconds and I would get a Windows BEX error (iTunes stopped working) as shown below.
I removed and reinstalled all iTunes components exactly as described in turringtest2's user tip titled Troubleshooting Issues With iTunes for Windows Updates (including right-clicking on the installer and choosing "Run as Administrator") and that seems to have solved the problem.  I've only tested the reinstalled program for a few hours so I'll post back if the problem reoccurs.
