ITunes gifting from the US to Australia?
Is there a way to gift iTunes gift certifates to Australia? What I was thinking (because my friend lives in AUS), that I could use my billing address to give him the GC and then he change his store to the US using my home billing address (sans credit card) Is this the only way or do I have to ask someone from Australia to help me with this?
Thanks!
(I don't think it is fine to mail gift cards via USPS.)
(He probably knows my address so I'm not too worried about that)
For calling Australia mobile number you have 2 options:
1) If you only wish to make couple of short calls then you can purchase Skype Credit from your account page: https://secure.skype.com/account/
Calls will be charged at these rates: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/payg-rates/?currency=AUD#cc=AU
2) You can also purchase a subscription from:
http://www.skype.com/intl/en/prices/pay-monthly/#AU
Let me know if you have any further questions

I have emigrated from the UK to Australia and am about to change my itunes country. Will this result in me losing all my itunes downloaded songs etc? Will i need 2 accounts?
Going on what other people have posted your purchases will disappear off the Purchased links for redownloading (they won't be removed from your iTunes library or iOS devices), but as long as you have all your downloads on your backup of your library then that shouldn't be a problem - you won't be able to redownload anything from the Australian store unless you return to Australia anyway.

I can't complete a store request to download an itunes gift. The message says We could not complete your itune store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202)
Hi all,
I have the same problem with my Windows 8.1 laptop and my guess is that since I changed my Internet Provider who now delivers IPv6 addresses the problem occurs. A frieend who has a different provider does not have the problem in his home, but when he tries using iTunes at my home with my network he gets the same problem.
I have already solved a previous problem with Outlook 2003 not being able to receive emails from my wifes GMail account although everything else worked fine. The solution here was to enter the IPv4 address of Google POP-Server in the hosts file, overriding the IPv6 address.
Maybe something similar helps with this iTunes error.
If someone knows the hostname of the iTunes Store server, it could be pinged and the IPv4 address could be determined and then entered in the HOSTS file.
I'll continue trying in this direction and will post a solution if I find one.
If someone has the iTunes server name or IPv4 address, please post it. -

How is it possible for an American to to recieve a Itunes gift from a Canadian?
All iTunes gift cards and gifted items are country-specific, they can only be redeemed in the country from which they originated - only somebody in Canada with a Canadian iTunes account can redeem a Canadian gift

for a few weeks i have not been able to access the itunes store from the itunes on my laptop. every time i click on it it tells me it cannot access the store...not sure why. and says this: ITUNES HAS STOPPED WORKING a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify if a solution is available.
I had this exact same problem. I found this fix and it worked for me.
Step 1:
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and copy the filen named QTMovieWin.dll.
Step 2:
Browse and past that file into C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Hope this helps you. I wish I could remember where I saw this originally so I could thank them.
Good Luck.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes, but it still gets hung up when trying to access the Itunes Store from the Itunes program.
I've been unable to register the new Nano or sync it with my library. Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.) -
I bought a new, larger external hard drive. I have my iTunes library on the external drive instead of C: drive, Using Windows 7.
I copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive.
iTunes will not start or run unless the old hard drive is plugged in.
If I disconnect the old drive iTunes shuts down.
Any ideas. ??Hello kskip,
Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on. It sounds like you have setup iTunes to save new content to your new external hard drive in iTunes>Preferences, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the new external drive. You have one last step to take to have iTunes point to your new external hard drive rather than your old one:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
You should see the following screen:
Additional information
If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.

i'm retiring my old computer (with windows xp) and bought a new computer (with windows 7). How can i easily move my itunes music from the old computer to the new computer? i have my playlists organized in my old computer, i would like it to stay that way in my new computer. I also have my ipods, iphone sync'd in the old computer so i want to make sure that things won't get messed up (my apps, playlists, etc) when i move over everything to the new computer and sync all my devices with the new computer.
Thanks in advance for the tips.Make sure the XP box is upgraded to the latest version of itunes. Also make sure it's using the itunes media folder layout as explained here, because that's what the W7 is going to be using.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3847
Install itunes on the new W7 PC.
Get these folders from the XP machine
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
And put them here on the W7 machine
C:\users\username\My Music\iTunes
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ -

I use my "Bootcamp" harddrive to work on both the Mac side and Windows7 side of my computer. How do I get my Itunes Library from the Mac side to the Windows side of my Mac Book Pro?
Time Capsule is for backing up your data. It's not really a solution for live file storage; using it will not reduce the bloat of your boot volume.
If you have a lot of movies, music, etc. in your iTunes Library, that can be a good thing to move to an external drive. Here's how:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449
After you follow those instructions to copy your media over to the external drive and point iTunes to it, you can delete it from your internal drive. -
I'm presently in the Caribbean, and I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6. the update changed my iTunes account from the US to a Barbadian account. How can I switch back to my US account?
Sorry I'm so late responding; I've been away.

The error means that your antivirus or firewall is blocking the update process. -
I changed my password but when I go to use my itunes gift card the security questions I am being asked I cannot remember them
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use -
I just downgraded from iTunes 11 back to itunes 10.7.5. My iTunes is now working from one of the Previous Music Librabies. How can I make that previous library my current library? Also, I can't empty iTunes 11 frome the trash. It tells me iTunes 11 is still open. What's going on?
Thanks in advance!Without providing details on exactly what you did it is hard to provide an answer. It's like me saying, "This chocolate cake I made tastes wrong," but not providing the recipe for review. Maybe it was the garlic in that particular recipe.
If iTunes is successfully using a previous library which you rename to iTunes Library.itl then that is now the current library.
Have you restarted your computer and then tried emptying the trash? -
