ITunes Gives me a BSOD
My iTunes randomly will give me a Blue Screen of Death or it will tell me is has encountered a problem and has to quit. I have reinstaled both the latest iTunes and quicktime and nothing has worked so far. Granted it is not every time i open iTunes just when i have left it alone for a while.
Why is it doing this to me?

let's try opening up another front for the investigation. let's generate a minidump on the BSOD and get it sent through to the Apple engineers. there's instructions on how to do that in the following toonz post:

back at this end of things ... CoJeff's suggestion about the event logs is an excellent idea. (we could do with a few more clues to narrow down the possibilities ... there's a whole bunch of different things that can cause a 0x000000D1 on a PC)
here are some relevant-looking possibilities that a search on "0x000000D1 XP" turned up at MS:
You receive a "STOP 0x000000D1" error message on your Windows XP Service Pack 2-based portable computer
You occasionally receive a "STOP: 0x000000D1" error message when your Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer resumes from standby
The BLACKDRV.SYS file Causes the Stop Error Message: 0X000000D1(0XBE70D600, 0X00000000,0X00000000,0XBE92F13C)
You may receive a Stop error message after you insert media into a removable disk device in Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 2000
but it would also be worth checking through the results for that search yourself, in case one of the other results looks relevant to your system:
Search Microsoft.com for “0x000000D1 XP”
it's also worth heading in to your Device Manager to check for warning/alert messages in there. (i saw this pick up an DRIVERIRQL_NOT_LESS_OREQUAL being caused by an old copy of netbeui on an XP system recently.)

When I plug in my iPod Classic, it is visible in My Computer, but iTunes gives an error message saying "The software required for this iPod is not installed corectly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software." It started completely randomly and now does it every time. I completely wiped out iTunes and reinstalled it via the intructions from this website, but it is still doing the same thing. Furthermore, when I go to Start, All Programs, the iTunes folder contains no data AND the desktop shortcup does nothing when clicked on. I have to go to Start, Run, and type in itunes.exe in order to run the program. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
Do one or more of the following
> Restart your computer
> Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iDevice (won't erase everything)
> Go to My Computer (windows xp) or Computer (windows vista & 7) and see if iDevice shows
> Restore the iDevice completely (will erase everything)
> Make sure the iTunes and/or iOS firmware is up-to-date.

my ipad 3 is stuck in the "connect to itunes" mode. whether i restart or try to restore. when i try to restore itunes gives an error message saying an unknown error occurred (-1). any help.

Howeever it says the same thing when i try to download from the app store. iOS: Device detected but not identified properly on iTunes for Windows -
iTunes gives me the message that it has detected an iPod in recovery mode and that I need to restore the factory settings. When I click the "restore" button iTunes downloads the software. This is a 30 minute process. Once the download completes, I get the same message "iTunes detects an iPod in recovery mode....". I'm running Windows Vista and ZoneAlarm security software.
I've tried this restore function multiple times and still get the same results.
I've also tried resetting the iPod by holding the wake/sleep button and the Home button at the same time. The iPod turns on but shows the icons of a usb cable connecting to iTunes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.This maybe yuor problem:
