ITunes hangs everytime when I try to start a video since I updated it to version 10.7.
Hello,
everytime when I try to start a video at iTunes the programm hangs and I have to close it via task manager. Quicktime works and I also tryed to reinstall it but I have the same problem. I aslo tryed to install the older version but I had the same problem there.
It worked well before I updated it to the version 10.7. What can I do? What went wrong?

When I try to watch any video clip I get this:

I tried clicking on the Adobe Flash Player. It said it accepted it but it did not make a difference.

ITunes 8 Crashes When I Try To Play Purchased Video
Everytime I try to open a video I purchased from iTunes it immediately crashes, although I can play my own videos fine. I can transfer them to my iphone and play them fine, but not on my laptop.

Binary images description not availableDid you get a suitable answer? I am having the exact same problem. I have been using iTunes for years and suddenly I began having this problem. I noticed it first with videos but it also happens with music. A movie will play for about 4-5 sec and then lock up. The spinning time thing comes on. If I wait long enough, it will finally go away and the movie will play, although often with jerks. I removed and reinstalled iTunes. That did not help. Then I removed everything from iTunes and built a new library. That did not help either. I can play any of these same files from Quicktime without a hitch. In fact, that is what I do now to play a movie. I use iTunes to find a movie, then use the Command-R to show it in the finder, then load it in Quicktime. So it is not the files or the hard drive. It is iTunes.

Since i have the 10.6 / 10.7 / 11 iTune's version when i try to see my movies, from my library, or movie trailers from iTunes Store, the program stops working... I don't have idea about this problem, what happened?

I recently updated iTunes. Now whenever I try to listen to a podcast iTunes freezes and is completely unresponsive. Has anybody else had this problem? Can I simply reinstall iTunes? Will I lose any music that I've added?

You can reinstall iTunes. You shouldn't lose any music because it is stored in your user directory. Do a backup just in case.

i've restarted everytihng SO many times, have taken out all other usb connections, apart from the ipad. my itunes on the mac pro is 10.6.3 and there are no latest updates for my mac pro. Got so close with upgrading the ipad software but then got a message saying "couldn't locate the device" so tried the recommended routes but cant even get the update to start now. many thanks, k x

If your Buddy saw this and accepted then this port is open.
The process then moves to port 5060 and ichat contacts an SIP server called SNATMAP
This bit is the bit missing in your log.
Either of these things is happening
1) the port is not open in your Mac Firewall or the modem and any router you have.
2) you have a piece of VoIP (phones over Internet) equipment in the wrong place for ichat in your home network.
3) Your ISP offers a VoIP service and is blocking the SIP ports to get extra money
4) You have a modem that is SIP aware. Thomson Alcatels are most likely but also some Drayteks and the UK BT Home Hub

ITunes Locks up when I try to play a video
I have purchased a few TV shows from the iTMS. Historically they have worked fine. I rented a movie a couple of days ago. I went to watch it and iTunes locked up after playing about 2 seconds of audio.
I have done the following trying to fix the problem but so far nothing has worked:
1) I upgraded iTunes/Quicktime... as indeed there was an update available - Tried to play video again... it locked up... and had to terminate program.
2) I deauthorized all computers... and the problem computer... and then reauthorized the problem computer - Tried to play video again... and it locked up the computer
3) Playing all video content I've purchased/rented locks up iTunes.
So, I'd like to get this fixed. I have "23 hours" left to watch the movie I rented... but I can't watch it.Did you get a suitable answer? I am having the exact same problem. I have been using iTunes for years and suddenly I began having this problem. I noticed it first with videos but it also happens with music. A movie will play for about 4-5 sec and then lock up. The spinning time thing comes on. If I wait long enough, it will finally go away and the movie will play, although often with jerks. I removed and reinstalled iTunes. That did not help. Then I removed everything from iTunes and built a new library. That did not help either. I can play any of these same files from Quicktime without a hitch. In fact, that is what I do now to play a movie. I use iTunes to find a movie, then use the Command-R to show it in the finder, then load it in Quicktime. So it is not the files or the hard drive. It is iTunes.

Why everytime when i try to download iTunes it says " there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be wrong". What should i do to download it?
Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START/CONTROL PANEL/Programs n Features/highlight ASU and click REPAIR, -
When I try and start iTunes after trying to intall the 11.4 update on my Windows 7 laptop, it says to reinstall iTunes and "Windows Error Code 193" I tried ave the same failed response. Can someone help?

I keep getting and error when I try to start my iTunes. "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, Then install iTunes again. Error 2(Windows error 2)".... I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the error still occurs!!! This started happening after I installed the 10.3 update
I took the time to research it and come across a couple of people who experienced the same trouble and so I listed some of there steps(with Credits) and some people said that they worked.

1. Save iTunes install file to your desktop.
2. Disconnect from internet.
3. Disable Firewall/Security software.
4. Run install. Note that it installs Application Support and a bunch of other software this time.
5. Run iTunes.
6. Enable Firewall/Security software.
7. Reconnect to internet.
8. Download Watchmen Director's Cut post haste.

2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".

When I try to start iTunes I get the following error message: Itunes.exe – Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point kCMByteStreamNotification_AvailableLengthChanged could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll.
Any answers how to fix it? All Im getting is error for the past 3 days!

3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using theMicrosoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.
