Itunes hangs with itunes match in Mountain Lion

I've seen all the "Itunes hanging" issues that Apple is choosing to ignore. So I'm adding my bitter experience to this too!
I have:
Re-installed Mountain Lion, tried to run the latest version of itunes, and pulled down my cloud stored library. It hangs itunes, then hangs Mountain Lion.
I have:
Created a new user, and tried to do the same....it hangs itunes...then hangs the computer.
I have:
Tried using the rescue partition, and it ....yes, youve guessed it hangs itunes, and hangs the computer.
I don't have wirless on, and am using a network cable. I've tried using wifi....
My machine is:
Mac Pro
Processor 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 12 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
Software OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
I'm a film editor and photo-journalist hence the amount of ram.
Allof this started when Apple released Mountain Lion.....IT ALL WORKED BEFORE!
Can the developers figure out what is happening, or are they focusing their efforts on trying to create the next rich experience pioneered by Mr.Ives.
Fed up with this, I used to be proud of using Apple, however, I'm starting to like the look of Windows 8.
Any ideas?

and just sits there for an hour or more... sync is not finished, nothing happens... Any ideas?I called tech support and they had me schedule a time to walk through the problem with an apple engineer last night.
They acknowledged that they've been getting calls about this issue but that's all they said.
Make a long story short there was no solution. I ended up backing up all my info, contacts, notes ect. to the cloud and restoring the iPhone to the factory settings, then I synced back to the cloud but did not restore from a previous back-up just use as a new phone then manually check off the media pictures, music, movies ect.
It's not the ideal way but it worked for me because I don't have a ton of stuff on the phone and I can even sync wirelessly now where's before I couldn't check that feature on in iTunes because it wouldn't sync.
One thing since you can't restore from a previous back-up make sure to manually back up your camera roll or turn on photo stream to back up photos to the cloud.

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:
Canon 860 Series (Pixma 868) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips
Problem:
- New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
- When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
- The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
Solution:
1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.

If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB. Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’). This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list). The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List. It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try againHi, thaks for response, meant to post as a discussion (not question), wanted to save others time if they get the same problem

i have to upload video from my hewlett packard t200 camcorder to my mac. but mac won't recognize the camcorder files. i even bought flip4mac by tele stream which so far is useless. please help me use my camcorder with my iMac os mountain lion 10.8.2
i tried to get the installation disc for the camcorder but mac wont' recognize it becaue it is windows based i guess.
i just bought the camcorder a few months ago and when my computer crashed thought i'm finally getting a mac...it's been a costly venture which has resulted in more frustration than before my pc.
now the things i want to use with my mac that i thought would be even simpler...are not even useable...

You will have to transfer the files via the Finder.
Get a free copy of MPEG Streamclip and convert them to QuickTime .mov using the H.264 codec if you are presumably editing in iMovie.
Note that your list of video codecs won't look like mine as I have Final Cut Pro, but H.264 is definitely an option for you. -
I have two macs in my house. One is newer and came with the os x mountain lion software and the other one needs to be upgraded. I was wondering if there is a way to take upgrade from one to the other? Should not have to buy this software again.

Problems with connection to the Mountain Lion
Someone is having problems with connection on Mac Mountain Lion? I did a clean install and the connection is unstable.
Have you tried to reset your network settings ?
What I would do is delete the connection, and then retry the set up of that connection.
System Preferences>Network, select Wi-Fi on the left and then click on the 'minus' button -
Does anyone know of a good A3 photo scanner compatable with OS 10.8 mountain lion? I need it to scan watercolour artwork. I was interested in Microtek scanmaker 9800XL and also Epson Expression 10000 but neither are compatible. Thanks :-)

How full is the hard drive that you are trying to save to? Not that it should matter, but have you tried scanning another document?
Is the scanner plugged directly into the Mac? Try it that way.
Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, monitor, mouse and scanner and see if the problem goes away.

This article seems to be based off of an older version of iTunes. With iTunes 11 I have no left side column. The screen shot is not what is on my computer with the latest version of iTunes. I need help putting music and pictures on my new iPad from iTunes, the new iPad and latest version of iTunes. Thank you.
On iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - it should then look similar to that article.

Note that synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so you need to include all the photos that you want on the iPad from your computer in each photo sync. -
ITunes 11 hangs (spinning beach ball) in Mountain Lion
Whenever I open iTunes, it hangs with a spinning beach ball for about three minutes. During this time, Activity Monitor shows iTunes (not responding) using 90–130% of the CPU.
After a few minutes, the beach ball stops and iTunes works fine...for a while. Double clicking on any audio file on my desktop, sets off the spinning beach ball again for another three minutes, at which time iTunes becomes responsive again, but the sound file does not play.
I've tried tossing the iTunes preferences and running Disk Warrior to no avail. I'm running 10.8.2 on my mid-2007 iMac. Any ideas/suggestions for troubleshooting?Okay, I think I've finally solved my problem. I moved my entire iTunes library from one hard drive to another, then I deleted everything from iTunes (selected all songs, hit delete key, but didn't delete songs from disk) and then reimported them by dragging my Music folder into iTunes.
I'm not sure if moving the songs from one disk to another really helped, but deleting and reinstalling the songs definitely did.
I actually let iTunes perform a "scan for music" to reinstall the tracks, but that never seems to bring in everything. I had to drag in all of my compilation disks and some other miscellaneous tracks. P.I.T.A.
But, the good news is iTunes no longer hangs. -
ITunes stopped syncing iPhone 4s after Mountain Lion upgrade
Installed Mountain Lion today, all looks well except sync of iPhone 4s with iTunes won't start either directly as the phone is hooked up or by forcing a Sync. iTunes sees the device but hitting Sync gets stuck on "Waiting for sync to start", and after a while it gives up with an error message.
OS X 10.8 on a MacBook Air (2012).
Anyone else seeing this? Ideas?I've tried this but with no luck. I've restarted my iphone and itunes repeatedly, then tried to sync. Each time the "memory" line or gauge (whatever you call it - it tells you how much memory you're using for music, photos, etc. as well as total memory used/available) shows all of the music is on the phone, but after syncing is done the music has NOT transferred to my iphone and the music portion of that "memory" line or gauge drops down to near zero.
This along with my inability, even after 2 1/2 hours with Apple tech support, to get my calendar or contacts to sync.
Any ideas out there? A Nobel Prize may be available!! -

after a lot of trying and contacting the Apple support in the netherlands...... it is recognized by iTunes and iPod updater. it look like it works but it is not possible to disconnect the iPod. I'll tryed the hard way, and have the next problem; the display of my iPod sign up with the Apple-logo and map-attention, the hard disc is working and

Hanging problem with Adobe CS6 in Mountain Lion
I recently upgraded my retina Macbook pro to Mountain Lion and was having some trouble with Adobe CS6 apps hanging on startup among other things (including iCal crashing on startup)
I did a clean install of Mountain Lion and Manually rebuilt my applications folder so that Adobe MAster COllection was installed freshly on a clean install of ML.
Now it is still sporadically hanging when I try to open Photoshop, Bridge or other Adobe apps. The only thing that seems to fix it is a restart which is inconvenient when you're in the middle of work.
ANy ideas?Thanks for this. I had heard of the fonts problem some people have had. All my fonts were freshly installed by either the system or Adobe when I installed Master Collection. Following your advice, I just verified every font and the only problem that showed up (as you had predicted) was a minor duplication which I corrected. So, it seems unlikely to be the fonts.
As for your other point, I have been using Final Cut Pro X and that has worked fine. The only other app that has given me trouble has been Calendar which seems to get strangely stuck sometimes while it is updating. Makes me wonder if there's something going on with the network I'm using.
One thing I hadn't thought of was that it could be a problem with gfx card switcher. This seems unlikely but I'll try disabling it and see if that helps.
Weirdly, today when I had this issue, Photoshop loaded up ok but then hung when I tried to load any file into it. Bridge wouldn't start at all. I didn't try the others. Yesterday I was having problems with Illustrator.
Anyway, I see what you mean about it not being a widespread problem - which is why I started this thread. It seems no one else is having any issues. If anyone else knows what I should look for in my configuration please let me know.
