"iTunes has an error, needs to close"

I know I'm not the only one with this problem...
I keep getting the error message that prevents iTunes from opening, I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and Quicktime with the help of the "clean uninstalling of iTunes", and nothing happened. I either get the error again, or just nothing happens at all. I've tried the suggestions of just uninstalling Quicktime, that didn't work either. Now it's gotten to the point where I can't delete iTunes from the Add/Remove Programs folder because "Access is denied". As always, iTunes is very frustrating, and I'm very tired of being reminded that Apple can't fix these problems, even though so many people depend on iTunes to play their music. I would REALLY appreciate some help with this, the other posts have done nothing for me, and since most of my music is purchased, I can't even listen to it. Thanks for any advice you have.

I am also receiving the same "error message" that prevents iTunes from opening. I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 4 different times and also the iPod updated. I still receive the error message. I have a copy of my iTunes music just can't get the iTunes program to open. HELP...need assistance on how to troubleshoot this or where do I go and download the old iTues program 4.x.x before I tried to upgrade to 5.0

I read that others suggest uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. If I do this, will I lose my old iPad's backup that I need to restore to this new one?

I've resolved the issue with iTunes constantly not responding. It's a bit embarrassing. I had a DVD in the drive that was corrupt, and once I was able to remove it - BAM - iTunes ran perfectly.
I'm still getting the Sync Services message, and my backups are still not showing in iTunes.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Every day I get messages saying Elements auto analyzer has malfunctioned and needs to close. APE9 is not even open. Howw can I stop this?

When you go to the Organizer's Edit/Preferences/Auto Analyzer, is it set to run automatically? If so, does this problem persist if you turn it off?

I get an error: iTunes has an error and has to be closed. I found a page that said I had to uninstall Quicktime, but I went to delete it and it said I couldn't because it wasn't installed. I tried everything but it doesn't work. What should I do?

There could be any number of items causing this. First off is do you have an active internet connection? If so have you tried rebooting you computer?

When you re-installed iTunes did you first uninstall iTunes following these steps ? :
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 && Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP

Itunes stopped working and needs to close

for about 2 weeks now, itunes gives an error message that it has stopped working and needs to close when i try to sync my phone. i have updated to the latest versions on my laptop as well as my phone. i have an iphone 4 and my laptop is running windows 7. i have seen many, many similar posts going back a couple of years but have yet to see a solution. apple support is as worthless as ever, spouting off computer nerd solutions to non-computer nerds. can anyone tell me, in plain english, how to fix this? thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide.

ITUNES encountering problem and needs to close.....

I have tried to install Itunes on my son's laptop today, I keep getting message saing it has encountered a problem ande needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience!!! I have not been able to open itunes at all. Have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it a few times with the same result. Just bought him an ipod but he cant use it until itunes works - HELP!!!!!!!!

I have been working on the same problem for over a month! It has been so frustrating. I've unstalled and installed iTunes a ton of times. I also did the same for Quicktime.
Per b noir's recommendation in this thread, I tried to see if it was my Quicktime and when I tried to launch the application, it did nothing. That's when I believed it was really Quicktime I was having a problem with.
I was reading one of b noir's replies to another discussion (Can't install iTunes and Quicktime over old Installation) and (s)he gave a few suggestions that I followed (thank you b noir):
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (my files actually said Quicktime and QuicktimeVR. I left QuickTimeCheck.ocx there)
This is the step I added:
7. Then I noticed that under the C:\Windows\system32\ folder, there was another Quicktime folder. I clicked on it and deleted it all. I believe it was an old version of Quicktime.
8. Went back to apple website and downloaded iTunes again. It asked me if I wanted to repair or uninstall (I think). I picked repair. It reinstalled Quicktime.
9. I launched Quicktime by itself and it launched!
10. Then I tried iTunes and it launched also!
I hope this helps in some way - the steps worked for me, but please don't delete anything that you are not sure about. I know how frustrating it is since I am just a novice user when it comes to stuff like this. I'm happy my iTunes is working for the moment. Hopefully I didn't do more damage elsewhere.

ITunes has generated errors and will be closed by windows

I just bought an iPod and downloaded iTunes, however now when I try to open iTunes, I keep getting a message that says "iTunes.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows, you may need to restart the program" HELP!!! I don't know what to do!!! I've tried removing the program and reinstalling it several times. I've updated my windows program and also made sure I have updated spyware. I don't know what else to do. If I can't fix it soon, I'm going to return the dumb thing!!!

Try this, and see if it does anything (there's probably a different root to your issue, but you might want to go ahead and give this a try).
1 - Remove all <b<iTunesSetup.exe</b> installers off your computer. (You might want to search for them: "START > Search", type in "itunessetup", and hit the Return key.)
2 - Now, download another copy of iTunes from this page: Download iTunes - 7.2.0.35
3 - After you have fully installed iTunes, restart your computer.
Now, when you attempt to launch iTunes. Do you still get that error message?
If you still are having issues, then I can call in one of our iTunes experts to troubleshoot this one.

Just downloaded itunes. but i cant even open it, it just says,"itunes has stopped working, program will close.."

This is a brand new laptop that I just bought two days ago. I was hoping to have itunes on my own computer finally, so I could sort out my horrible music situation. The installation went perfect. But when I try to open it, before I even get a chance to do anything, a little screen pops up and says,"itunes has stopped working.." then it will change, and become "a problem has caused the program to stop. program will shut down." so what should I do ? I don't even get the chance to plug in my ipod.
