Itunes has bricked my 3GS

Iphone 3GS with standard 4.3.5 installed tried upgrading to IOS5, first the new version of itunes refused to admit its existence on my computer, requiring a re-install, then it took me 2 days of '3194' errors before i finally got past the authorising stage, to be met with a '2002' error which your site helpfully doesnt list, which left the phone in recovery mode, I then had to restore to ios5 which met a 1611 error (i THINK, it may have been another 1600 error but im quite sure it was 1611) and left the phone with the apple logo, and an empty loading bar, the computer identifies a device connecting, but doesnt display any devices, and itunes doesnt register it at all.

Think this qualifies as apple having broken my phone, so how is it fixed?

Thought you folks would like to know that I finally fixed my iphone recovery mode 1013 error. I learned that their are two gs.apple.com servers. I found out which server I was connecting to and decided to try the other server. I added the below entry in my hosts files. I did a recovery and it worked. NOW, what on earth is going on with apple gs.apple.com server 17.112.176.11?   gs.apple.com 17.151.36.30 worked for me. Keep in mind, my phone is a normal stock phone with only apple store apps. my phone is not gail broken and I do not use tiny umbrella or related utilities.Problems began with the release prior to the current one.

For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS. I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer. iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups. It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me". Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do? Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. HT4972 Trying to update iPhone 3GS to 5.1.1 iTunes has recognised the update, but my phone is still stuck in the restore stage at the 'Connect to iTunes' screen. Any advice?

Updated my iPhone 3GS (recent phone - xmas this year), to 5.1.1 when iTunes suggested it. Restored phone under advice from prompts, iTunes has recognised my phone to have updated, but the phone itself is still stuck on the 'Connect to iTunes' screen in the restore phase. Very frustrating. ITunes has stopped working

Tried anew to install iTunes (9.1.1.12) again (I uninstalled after having upgraded to 9.X which was a very buggy release on the Windows side). But after having performed a very l o n g backup of my iPhone 3GS, it starts to do things with my songs and suddenly it displays the error message that iTunes has stopped working and that Windows will notify me when a solution is available. This repeats everytime I connect my iPhone... It seems that we will have to wait for an update as there are many comments about this realease????
Shouldn't there be a Windows 64-bit iTunes forum as well???

If you find the problem is user specific and it happens when iTunes is "doing things to files", then look at "check for content files with issues". Sometimes a bad file can crash itunes.

Can't install iTunes 11 on Widows 8, 'iTunes has stopped working' error message

Two months ago, I bought a new computer that uses Windows 8. I was running iTunes 10.6 on it fine until today, when it crashed for some unknown reason. Every time I've tried to open it again, I kept on getting a 'iTunes has stopped working' message. I've uninstalled 10.6 and tried installing iTunes 11, but keep getting the same 'iTunes has stopped working' error message with no other details. I've tried installing it as an administrator, but got same failed results.
Any help?

I just put itunes upeate 11 on and now itunes will not run. I get an error that sys iTunes has stopped and windows is sutting it down. I reinstalled 10.7 and it will not run eather now.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

How do i transfer my itunes on my Iphone 3gs to my new mac? My old laptop died so I am unable to access my itunes on my computer but would like to retrieve the songs I purchased previously.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases.
If you sync contacts and calendars to a blank computer, then they will be erased as well. Another reason a backup copy is critical. If you enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer, then you should get the option to merge the data.

How are you trying to transfer it and what are your setting on iTunes. I'm not on a computer that has iTunes at the moment so I'm going from memory and similar issue. If iTunes is set to sync music then I don't think you can select and drag, if set to manual manage music then you can. Also make sure you are dragging to music on the iPhone.

This is most often a severe hardware fault of the WiFi Chip. But steps to try are, Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not, Restore iPhone with iTunes on your computer. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

Updated my Ipod got "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." Error.

I had some new albums I bogut from Itunes and wanted to put them on my Ipod Touch. Went to do that, ITunes said there was an update. I downloaded the update and then I couldn't see anything in my Ipod nor listen to anything. The screen of my Ipod shows a USB cable pointing to Itunes and when I plug it into ITunes again I get the message "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." And the ONLY option it gives me is to restore my IPod to factory settings. I looked online for answers but all I see are people having problems with this because they bricked their phone, which I haven't ever done or even know how to do. Would appreciate some help, planned on spending my day off listening to my new albums.

If the music is not in your iTunes library (it is not in the backup that iTunes makes), you can redownload it if you are in the USA.

Itunes has stopped working for PC

I am running windows 7 64-bit on my pc and I have completely updated iTunes software. When I open iTunes, everything works fine, I can play music in my library and sync my phone. But when I try to open the iTunes store, i get an error saying:
"iTunes has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem"
Then it closes.
How can i fix this???

First you can try;
Try restarting PC and run itunes again!
If error again than perform clean instal of itunes (uninstal first and than instal again)!
