ITunes has multiple accounts for me

When I first got an OS X Mac, in 2002, my AppleId was xyz. Somewhere along the line, Apple gave me a new id of [email protected] Now iTunes thinks I'm two people, xyz and [email protected]
Late OCT2013, my 2009 MBP crashed (logic board + disk). I bought a new MBP. iTunes on the new MBP asked me to re-authorize [email protected] Then it said I had used 4 of 5 computer authorizations. But it kept asking me to authorize myself. Puzzled, I looked up old passwords. Then I remembered that in 2002 (before @mac.com) I had just been xyz. I entered xyz's password. It said I had used 5 of 5 computer authorizations. Honestly, I have 1 computer, not 5. Maybe I've had 4-5 since 2002.
I have no idea which music/apps I purchased as xyz, and which as [email protected] I guess everything since @mac.com came out (whenever that was) should be [email protected] But really I want to merge the two AppleIds, xyz and [email protected], and any purchases I have made with them. There are both me. Frankly, I would prefer to be just xyz, since as Apple fads, @mac.com came and went, and then @me.com came and went.
Is there a way to unify xyz and [email protected] to just xyz? I gather from reading the forums that I can de-authorize everything, and then re-authorize xyz and [email protected] separately again, which would lead me to have 2 "computers" authorized when I just have 1 computer. I hope in the process I would not lose things that I paid for.

just an update on my problem and one that others may be experiencing too, after backing up and restoring my iPod to default settings, which invariably formats it. the files are located in the "iPod_control" in the music folder, and are labelled F00 through to F49.
moving these files back across to the iPod is a painstaking but worthy task, i had to go into each of the 50 folders and highlight all files (labelled randomly like "GHTY, KJUI, KKIH" etc, they all have 4 letters in caps and drag these across into the music folder of the iPod in iTunes.
time consuming process but easy once you know what you are doing, i hope this helps others like it has helped me.

I am the admin on my PC with Windows XP. I have iTunes installed under my account. I just got my wife an Nano. Can I install another iTunes under her account, move the music to a shared folder, and have both iTunes use that shared library? If not, can you please share the best approach. Thank you.

you shouldn't have to install itunes in her account. she should have it already in her account if it has been installed on yours.

I am totally confused; apple phone support seems to have no clue at least the person I spoke to. I want to get two iTunes accounts on one computer, one exists already. I am not sure what apple allows in this case. I was told at a apple store that if you create another PC profile you should be able to get the second iTunes account on the same computer with the new windows profile. There seems to be no info on the discussions board to this issue.
I do not want to share an account and have a second library I think it would be too confusing for the other person. Is this possible?

You can purchase music using multiple accounts within the same Windows profile & using the same iTunes library. I think when you log into the store it remembers the last account name used, but provided you don't let it remember your password then you have the opportunity to enter the correct details for each purchase.

The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
etc.
I currently manage our family's five iPods using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their iPod. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

For different valuation types, you can have different valuation classes and in turn can have different G/L accounts.

How do I get iTunes into new account for the kids

I have opened a new account for my kids, so that I can use parental controls. I want the kids to be able to access the entire iTunes library that is on our regular administrator account, but the iTunes in the kids account is totally new with no library. Is there a way I can just have one iTunes account and library for the entire computer?

My customer want to use ESSO-LM 11g for Lotus Notes 7.
The customer have some people who have multiple account in Lotus Notes 7.
I checked the pre-defined application template for Lotus Notes in ESSO-LM,
The application templates defined only password field.
I think that the ESSO-LM require the username field for specify the account
from multiple accounts.
Is it possible to use Lotus Notes 7 with multiple account by ESSO-LM?

Itunes has stopped working for PC

I am running windows 7 64-bit on my pc and I have completely updated iTunes software. When I open iTunes, everything works fine, I can play music in my library and sync my phone. But when I try to open the iTunes store, i get an error saying:
"iTunes has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem"
Then it closes.
How can i fix this???

Can multiple accounts for the same vendor be bookmarked?

I have home and office accounts for certain vendors (utilities, etc) and have tried bookmarking them under "On Line Accounts." However, I am not able to do so. When I enter one for home with, say, dteenergy.com (same problem with others like AT&T), that account works fine. When I try to enter the dteenergy account information for home, that works fine. However, when the second account is entered it replaces the first account.
I have not tried it, but I could try creating a second on line account, and will do so after I finish this inquiry. However, I had hoped to get everything into a single folder on the bookmark bar.

There are many ways of saving a bookmark, most don't permit the same exact page to be saved as a bookmark more than once - that's a feature in Firefox 3+ versions. If you "drag" the web site image ''(known as the Favicon)'' from the Location bar or from a Tab into your bookmarks, you can get around that "feature". You can "drag&drop" the Favicon into the Bookmarks Toolbar (can be tricky at times), or to the Bookmarks menu item on the Menu bar - the drop-down will open, or into the Bookmarks Sidebar (the method I use) - {Ctrl + B} to open the Bookmarks Sidebar

Is there a MASTER computer/mac/pc/itunes library that the cloud pulls information from and sends back too? I am "cleaning" up my itunes to include deleting duplicates, adding missing artwork and combining the compilations together such as the "NOW! That is what I call Music" CD's. I have spend days and hours making one machine right. I have some 23 thousand songs.
I want all my Macs (I have 4), my PC's (2) and my iPhones, Touch and iPads to have all the same artwork and compilations together. It does not seem to work as I expect it to.
Am I waisting my time doing all of this cleanup work? I also am running into this a lot. After I became a match user my itunes library has doubled. Why are my albums showen doubled? One on my iTunes and the other in the cloud?

When you enable iTunes Match the cloud is what becomes the "master" library. Although, I know I think of my laptop as the "master" that's not really how it works. However, what you can do is keep the actual files in only one iTunes library for purposes of keeping ID3 tags up to date. Any changes made in that library will then be automatically propagated out to all associated devices.

Did you purchase this particular album from the iTunes Store? If so you may be able to fix this particular one by deleting it from the iTunes library, and the cloud, then downloading it again from your purchase history. Just be sure you have a current backup first. You don't want to delete something and not be able to recover it.

Multiple account for 2 devices

My boyfriend just got an iPhone 4S yesterday, and I set him up an iTunes account. However this is all being done on my computer, since he doesn't have one. How can I download songs to his iPhone from CD's on my computer so they will go directly to his phone? Help with this ASAP, and thank you very much.

He doesn't have a playlist showing up on his account. It keeps showing my library for my iPod, and when I check some of the songs to put from my library to sync to his phone, nothing is going on. No music is transferring to his iPhone...arrrrrrghhhhhh!!

There is a way, but it's rather cumbersome. You have to start selecting a full system restore; there's a window showing all of the backups and the version of OSX.
Is there an app I could use to manage the snapshots if manually deleting them will cause problems and side effects later.
It's best to use the Time Machine "Star Wars" display to delete backups, but you really shouldn't have to. Let's figure out what's wrong first.

Itunes shows multiple listings for the same files (songs), help ???

dunno why, but Itunes is showing mulitple listing for my file (songs), is there a way to clean this up instead of going through the list one by one to get rid of the extra listing...?? thank you in advance...

It looks like you have duplicate entries in the library (two entries pointing to the same song file), but you could also have duplicate files.
Add the 'Date Added' column to the library (View Options, Command-J) and sort on 'Date Added'.
If many songs show the same recent 'Date Added' and you didn't actually add them that day, those ones obviously are the duplicates.
Compare a few of those entries with their duplicate ones.
Do they point to the same file? If so, delete the last added ones, but choose 'Keep Files'.
If they point to different files, delete the last added ones and choose 'Move to Trash'
If the above does not help, you might find a useful script at www.dougscripts.com/itunes
Search for "duplicate" to find the appropriate scripts.
You will still have to remove the entries manually though.
