ITunes has no concept of iPhoto '08 "Events"

iTunes needs an update! I can't sync photos with my iPhone unless I create an album for it, which is kind of stupid. It should list your events as well, so you can just sync those.

I agree wholeheartedly! I've upgraded to iLife '08 and am using the new Events feature of iPhoto and am loving it... and in the process I'm realizing that I can nix my own "Albums" that are no longer needed! But then I realize that photos are being deleted from my iPhone because the album no longer exists... duh! Okay, this makes sense, but where is the update to iTunes to support iPhoto Events????????????
Come on Apple -- this needs to be here very, very soon!!

  • ITunes Has Stopped Working Error

Can anybody help with that good ol’ staple “iTunes has stopped working” error?
From event viewer: Faulting application iTunes.exe, version 11.2.2.3, time stamp 0x5383f31a, faulting module CoreFoundation.dll, version 1.750.24.0, time stamp 0x52a28a28, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000a9908, process id 0xdb0, application start time 0x01cf898260ec3b90.
Tried uninstall and reinstall of both iTunes and Quicktime, also reinstalled as admin for each
Tried with both 32-bit and 64-bit iTunes
Tried removing the files from C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes and C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Tried copying the .dll files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Opened iTunes in safe mode. It was fine until I tried to view my Match tab, or update iTunes Match, then gave same crash (the error log is actually from safe mode).
It usually won’t crash until I try to view my Match tab or update iTunes Match. Also after I removed the files from the local preferences, I apparently wiped out the library file in the process, because now the only files showing in my library are the maybe 50 or so I’ve purchased through iTunes since I installed to this machine, and not the 10,000+ I’d had in the library before, and that are all uploaded to my iTunes Match, which are all on a local hard drive.
Vista Home Premium SP2 64-bit, up to date on Windows updates.

I've had this problem for months and tried the same "solutions" as drummerboydyl but also none worked.
I did as MusicaBella instructed, except all I changed was the name for #3, i couldn't find #2 to changed, and voila, it worked!
    Thanks so much MusicaBella!

None of these failures ever occurred previously with my configurations (including 12.0) with iTunes. And no, the video compatibility version (64-bit installer with 32-bit payload) doesn't fix these problems either. And I cannot find any copy of the 12.0 version to revert to!!!
Clearly this update wasn't sufficiently tested before being released. Help!!!!

Okay, that rules out one possible set of causes for the Stackhash result. Unfortunately it still leaves the field pretty open ... they tend to be user-specific errors (affecting a single user account), but there's quite a few possibilities with that too.

  • Sync with iPhoto 11: Events in iTunes not same as in iPhoto 11

I have an event to which I have been merging photos off and on since Sept. 2010.  Up to the last time I synced the iPad, that event displayed as a single event in the iTunes list from which I select the photos that I want to sync between iPhoto and the iPad.  Now, however, that event appears split in iTunes, even though it is still a single event in iPhotos.  Since I have specified to sync all photos, I am now seeing about fifty event with the same name as the single event on the iPad, even though it is a single event in iPhotos.
I have rebuilt my iPhoto library, but that does not seem to help.
Has anybody experienced this problem and solved it?  If not, does anybody have suggestions?
    Richard

    @Gregory,
Yes, I have restored iPhoto 9.1.1 from Time Machine.  I also ended up restoring the last version of iPhoto Library on which iPhoto 9.1.1 was used.  It's important that you don't use the older version of iPhoto in conjunction with a version of iPhoto Library that has been touched by iPhoto 9.1.2.  Of course, you will then have to redo any work that you did in iPhoto 9.1.2.  And when you next sync an iOS device, iTunes will notice that you are syncing with a different library and ask permission to delete the photos on the device and replace them by the photos you have selected.  That, in turn, will involve optimizing the photos for the device.  11,000 photos will take a long time, but not as long as my 18,000+ photos.
By the way, restoring an iPhoto Library of 18,000+ photos creates problems of its own.  The library is approx. 154 GB large, and I didn't have enough room on my hard disk for the then-current version and the version to be restored, so I had to delete the former and empty the Trash in order to create enough space.
    Regards,
    Richard

Taken at face value, that's an exceptionally old version number for that QuickTime component.
Do you have the QuickTime Player installed on your system at the moment? If so, is that also currently failing to launch (with or without an error message)?

  • Itunes has stopped working and iphone calendar has 10 entries for each event

"itunes has stopped working", since I tried an update which failed.
Also when I plugged in my iphone it went straight to restore and not only lost all my recent stuff as you might expect - annoying enough, but has installed at least 10   entries for each event. How do I get rid of them? Tried deleting the event but it doesn't take away every single entry. (And can I get my recent stuff back?)
These are probably diffferent problems but as my name implies I'm a complete numpty when it comes to the technical terms so please, in lay terms, what should I do?

Well I seem to have solved this myself...Much to my surprise!
First the itunes issue. When the itunes update screen came up again it said if you have trouble with this go to Tools (top of itunes panel) and press "download only" which I did and the rest just sort of happened. It uninstalled and then installed.. All I had to do was open each file. Checked my stuff and all there. Checked itunes store and straight in.
Iphone calendar. Not sure how this happened but it had about 25 - 30 copies of each event. I went through each calendar and by process of elimination deleted the ones that seemed to be causing the problem. I didn't lose any events but all of a sudden there was only one each of them. Bizzaire but true.
This is a very rare day for me. A Good IT Day.
