Itunes has started crashing on macbook pro.

itunes has started crashing everytime I launch it on macbook pro. have followed advice in earlier posts and removed ibooks by putting it in trash, emptied trash and restarted. but problem remains.
i updated to 11.2.1  itunes a couple of days ago, and updated to OSX11.9.3 at the same time.
Itunes hasnt worked since

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
☞ If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
☞ Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • ITunes has started to crash

Well it seems like you're locked into using iTunes if you have an ipod, but iTunes has started to crash everytime I try to sync my ipod, so what the **** do I do now?
About 50 or so songs into a sync it goes into error and I get the standard XP error message.
I've tried reinstalling but this makes no difference.
    Can anyone suggest anything?

    Hi
    I got this
    AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 9.0.2.25 ModName: quicktime.qts
    ModVer: 7.64.17.73 Offset: 00837916
and I got the body of a text file that was to be attached to the fault report. Nowhere in there does it mention a Faulting Report
I have found that if I don't have the external drive plugged in that holds all the music, the fault doesn't happen. But then of course neither does the sync.
When I do plug it in, the files are there to sync, all 523 of them, but it never gets past about 50.
I went through every single piece of artwork looking for bmp files and deleted them to see if it helps cos it crashed once before after I installed BMP artwork.
    This is seriously frustrating now.
Does anyone know a hack so I can use my ipod that I paid for with my money, liek a normal mp3 player and just drag and drop mp3's onto it?

  • Recently, PS CS5 keeps crashing my MacBook Pro as soon as I start working.

Lately, PS CS5 seems to be the villain crashing my MacBook Pro 10.6.8. It doesn't happen with other software. I have run Diagnostics which didn't find any issues. I have upped the RAM on PS to almost 95%. I am thinking of buying new RAM but would like to avoid that if I can. thx.

Reboot the computer holding the option key (just like Capt Fred says) select OS X Lion as the Startup Disk in System Preferences
If you select the Startup Disk of Lion and reboot and still have a issue, it's likely you have a corrupt System Preferences plist file and it's not saving your changes. Please report that if's your issue, I'll show you how to recreate that file again.
    You can also
Reboot the computer holding the command (4 leaf clover looking) and the r keys down, you'll boot into the Lion Recovery Partition.
You can use Disk Utility to select and First AID >Repair and Repair Permissions.
See if you can boot normally or not. If not then:
    For File Recovery
Your going to need a blank external hard drive equal too or slightly larger than your internal drive.
Your also going to need a strong, fast, stable Internet connection to re-install Lion from Apple's servers, and your AppleID and password.
Hold command r and get into Lion Recovery Partition and use Disk Utility (careful) to select your external drive
Erase>Security option > Zero all Data, wait as it takes sometime to finish and checks the drive.
The Partition tab > click box, 1 partition, option GUID, format OS X Extended Journaled and give it name "External Lion" and click Apply.
    Next Quit Disk Utility
Install Lion onto the external drive reboot the computer and hold the option key down, select the external drive to boot from and setup the same user name as before on the internal drive.
Now access the internal drive of Lion and grab your files.
You can use the same procedure to erase Lion on the internal drive and reinstall Lion, all your programs and files from the external drive.

  • My Adobe Digital has started crashing

I've been using this program for a while to access library books and it's worked well.  In the past few days it has started crashing with a minute of starting.  I get my books from the library, but when I upload them to ADE it shows them there, but without the sash indicating the expiry period, … and then the program crashes.  If I just open the program and click to look at the books that are there and current, the program crashes. So, I can't move the books to my reader or even read them on the computer.  I have version 4.0.3 of ADE and I use a MacBook Pro.  Anyone have any ideas?  Help!

    Hi, Amanda.  Try this:
    1. Delete all digital edition files (use "Find" to trash all files and then empty trash).
    2. Download Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 (just google this and you'll find the download)
    3. Open ADE Version 3.0 (above).
    4.  Deauthorize the computer (on a mac - CMD, Shift, D).  You'll get a prompt asking if you want to deauthorize the computer.  Click yes.
    5.  Authorize computer (under Help window when ADE is open).
    6.  Go ahead and download book from library (or wherever).
I found it on someone else's question.  It seems to have worked for me.  The point being that ADE 4.0 sucks, I guess.  Good luck!

  • Outlook 2011 slow, clunky and keeps crashing with macbook pro os 10.8.4 - any hints??  ta :)

Outlook 2011 slow, clunky and keeps crashing with macbook pro os x 10.8.4 - any hints??  ta

You might look in your User Library for Outlook .plist(s). They probably start with com.microsoft.
    Quit Outlook.
Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences.  Move the .plist(s) to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

  • When I started up my macbook Pro after a boat trip (just lying in my bag the whole time) it started making weird sounds. Why does it do that and how do I stop it?

When I started up my macbook Pro after a boat trip (just lying in my bag the whole time) it started making weird sounds. Why does it do that and how do I stop it?

The 13" retina MBP has two fans, left and right near the hinge and about 2.5" each from the edges of the case.
My conjecture is that one of the fans may be failing.  An appointment at an Apple store genius bar is the best option.  The evaluation will be FREE and a fan replacement (if that is the problem) should not break the bank account.
You might run an Apple Hardware Test:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11342
This may confirm my suspicion or perhaps find a different problem. Note that an error free result should not be viewed as being definitive.
    Ciao.

  • Icloud has disappeared from my MacBook Pro

iCloud has disappeared from my MacBook Pro.  I suspect I may have inadvertently deleted it.  It is definitely not anywhere to be found within the Preferences section.  How can I download it please when it is not on my Mac anywhere and when I go into the Apple store their instructions assume it is sitting on my computer.  I do have an iphone and am about to purchase an iPad.  Is there any  iCloud go across to the Mac Book Pro if I sync the two items.  Thank you for your help. Cheers

How Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
A few of the basic OS X installed applications can be restored from the Optional Installs installer located in the Optional installs folder on your Installer DVD.  However, if what you need is not there then follow the instructions below.
How to Use Pacifist to Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive.  Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items.  Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
    Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go to Folder. In the path field enter or paste ....
/Volumes/disc name/System/Installation/Packages (where disc name is the name of the CD/DVD that you inserted.)
Click on the  "Go" button ..... • Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
    D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
    1.          In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b.          or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
    3.          In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
    4.          On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
    5.          Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
20 files were scanned. 20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk. 0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package. 0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
    6.          Click “close”. Go to step 7.
    Extract or Install........
    7.          In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
    8.          If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears, authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
    9.          In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
    10.          If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
    11.          Type in your password, click “OK”
Pacifist will begin to extract files.
    12.          In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
Notes:          Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
    Stop
    Leave original alone
    Update .....
    Default selection
Replace .... (Replace option should only be used on full install packages)

  • I want to move my itunes and iphotos to my macbook pro

I would like to move my itunes and iphotos to my macbook pro from my G5. How do I do this? What cables will I need and what ports do I plug them into. Thank you for your help.

Connect the machines with an Ethernet cable, turn on File Sharing from the Sharing pane of System Preferences on one computer, and use the Connect to Server command in the Finder's Go menu on the other, or use a FireWire cable and start up one computer with the T key held down. In either case, move the iTunes and iPhoto libraries from the Music and Pictures folders of your home folder from one computer to the other.

  • Hi, I have problem with starting up my macbook pro, the gray screen coming and the circle still turning

    hi
Could u please help me with the problem that I have with starting up my macbook pro?

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.
