Itunes "has stopped working" Help pls

About a month ago Itunes for some reason, as soon as i open it, just freezes and i get a itunes has stopped working error.
I've tried about everything that i have read in forums and in the apple support and nothing has helped me.
I'm using windows 7.

Hello, jerrywise.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Experiencing issues such as this when connecting to the iTunes Store can be due to multiple causes and not always a simple fix.  I would recommend going through each of the steps in the attached articles below.  Be sure to test the results after processing each step.

Need a bit of help ,computer keeps saying "itunes has stopped working " and then "a problem has caused prog to stop working etc" when i follow links nothing happens and the same info comes up.Please help.

This Apple article will help you isolate the problem a little -> iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
Does iTunes start in Safe Mode?
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interfence with plug-ins or scrpits not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
It would also be helpful if you can provide the Error Report from the Windows Action Center Reliabilty History. To view this go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Action Center > View Reliability History under Maintenance. Double click the iTunes critical event and copy it into your reply.

Hi, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.4 and now I can't get iTunes to run. Windows Vista just tells me that iTunes has stopped working - similar message to a load of people here - and leaves an error log that I accessed via the Control Panel. The fault module is different from other people's, but the outward symptoms are exactly the same: iTunes won't run. I tried 'downgrading' iTunes to an earlier version (thanks www.oldversion.com!) and it ran, but then stopped because (of course) my libraries are all in the newer format so it can't read them. Cheers Apple!
I have tried removing and reinstalling both iTunes and Quicktime several times over, as well as shutting down (and finally deinstalling) IOBit Advanced System Care 4, but to no avail. Just prior to these problems we found that iTunes would run, but would not talk to the iPod - it kept saying that it needed to be reinstalled because part of the package that communicated with the mobile device was missing. (Obviously I tried that, but it failed to work.) I just mention this in case this additional symptom is relevant.
    Just in case b noir reads this (he/she seems to be a bit of whizz at discerning these problems!)  I have included the error log generated by Vista below;

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:

  • I just received a refurbished replacement iphone and now while syncing I get "itunes has stopped working"...help???

I just received a refurbished iphone the the insurance provided by a major electronics retailer.  Since i have tried to sync it to iTunes I have received "iTunes has stopped working" error.  It says it will come back with possible solutions, but never does a thing.  I have already removed and again installed iTunes, QuickTime, etc. to no success.  Not sure what my next step should be.

This helped overcome the crash problem, but (as reported before), I still have to start iTunes in Safe Mode in order to watch any videos. This has been the case since 10.5.
The regular mode behavior has changed a bit - instead of the progress bar moving to the end of the video, showing no video but playing the audio for about three seconds, it now leaves the progress bar where it is ... but the rest of the behavior hasn't changed.
Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit on an HP dv8t quad-core laptop w/ 8 GB RAM, running nVidia GeForce 230M with 1 GB video RAM.
Thanks for your prompt response to the original problem posted above. At least now I'm back where I started from before I upgraded to 10.7. Not optimal, but I've finally gotten used to doing a Ctrl-Shift-click to run iTunes.

    "iTunes has stopped working"

Full message: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Troubleshooter didn't help, removing and down loading iTunes for Windows 8 did not work. same message each time.
Windows message says its an "incompatible program."
How do I get this to load correctly?  AND HOW IN THE WORLD CAN I TALK TO SUPPORT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE SPENT 1/2 DAY TRYING

Apple don't provide free telephone support for iTunes.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Please HELP, "iTunes has stopped working" error after connecting iPod video

People please help me out!  I have a Razer Blade gaming laptop with Windows 8 64bit.
I have an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and an iPod video (80GB).  I had some weeks from not connecting the iPod to my computer, but this morning that I did so I can upload some new music to it, iTunes just crash, I get the "iTunes has stopped working" error message when I connect the iPod video.  I do not have this problem with either the iPhone 5 or the iPad 2, when I connect these, iTunes works fine, once I connect the iPod, then all goes down
Procedures that I already tried and that were unsuccessful to solve the problem:
    Uninstall Quicktime
    Uninstall iTunes and reinstall
    Reset the iPod (several times)
    Delete TEMP files on computer
    Restart the computer (several times)
Use a different cable and a different USB port
The iPod is working fine, if I plug it to my car stereo or if I use it with headphones it works great, no problems nor errors.  My computer also identify the iPod as a hard disk, no error messages from Windows, it is just the freakin' iTunes that freezes everytime that I plug the iPod
PLEASE HELP ME OUT, I've searched forums on this particular issue but with no luck.
    Thanks very much!

It is only when I attempt to add a song to my iPod once plugged in that I receive the error "Itunes has stopped working" and forces me to exit the program, without the song being successfully transferred.
Do you have the "Convert to 128 kbps AAC" preference enabled for syncing to the iPod, laur?
If so, it's quite plausible that you've got the iTunes 10.1.0.54 bug and we need to get you updated to 10.0.1.56 as per the following document:

  • "iTunes has stopped working" - i need help! urgently :(

Hi, I am having a major problem with my iTunes program. Until about a week ago iTunes was working fine on my Vista Home Premium. One morning this week I got up and tried to turn it on and suddenly a box would pop up after about 10-20 secs after connecting my ipod touch to the computer saying "iTunes has stopped Working" Then another box would pop up saying that when a solution becomes available, it will notify me or something to that effect. Since then I have tried everything I possible could think of like reinstalling itunes and changing my msconfig settings. I have been on countless forums as well looking for someone who has my exact same problem and the solutions presented their are not working for my situation. If anyone could help me get iTunes back working on my system, that would be great. Thanks

I have exactly the same problem, please, if anyone can help, solution is well received.
    Thanks.
