ITunes has stopped working while sync photos

I have been having problems since I updated iTunes to 10.4, it keeps crashing (itunes has stopped working) while sync photos. After uninstalling and re-installing the problem still stayed. I therefore tried sync photos a batch at a time (15 photos at a time) IT WORKED but I still cannot sync my videos. I think that the problem is that this new version of itunes cannot cope with big files and therefore it crashes. I HOPE THAT APPLE WILL SORT OUT THIS PROBLEM

downgrade to itunes 10.3 as 10.4 broke this feature. if not, just unclick the include videos box and your sync should complete. here's hoping apple fixes this in itunes 10.5.

    Please:  someone help me....
I am at my wits ends.  I have spent 3 days trying to solve this, without any success.  I have really time better off than sorting stupid software problems.   (Someone had a great rant, so I won't rehearse it - but it seems to me that
if there is an issues, it should at least give some clear of what the software stops!!).  It seems to me that no one (NO ONE) is owning this problem  There are plenty of people who have the problem, and although some suggestions, it looks to me that
there are just that - suggestions.
I have posted my problem on the Apple forum.  I have not heard.  But it seems to me that we (I) don't even know if it is an iTunes or a Windows problem.  and now I have no idea which way to go....
    Rant two ends.  The problem:
I have windows 7 SP 1.  iTunes 12.0.1.26.  I can imports CDs and play music.  But when attempting to sync,"iTunes has stopped working". It stops (usually) step 6. No doubt many of people have seen the issue.  I problem have
not attempting to update since updating iTunes 12.  (On the side, I have not been able to update iTunes without deleting and reinstalling it for some.  Accordingly, I update with some concern, and only updated to 12 because I installed a new (different
laptop), and wanted to keep the same levels.
    The steps I tried
Sync iPad Air (iOS 8.1).  Failed.
Tried to sync iPhone 5S.  It stopped.  I then looked through the apps etc in the phone.  I noticed, that my photos were not being synced (I had an issue with memory issue some months ago - now sorted - and so checked resynced them.
Tried again, and worked.  Hmmm.  (iPhone is at iOS 8.1)
Made changes with the apps etc on the iPad to recreate the same good result.  No success.
I deleted iTunes etc (in the correct order) and reinstalled.  No success.  tried a number of times.  (one of the definitions stupid  is to try the same steps expecting a different result)
Searched google, apple and microsoft pages.  Read them all.  No one seems to have a clear answer to the problem, let alone the solution.
Backed up iPad, and restored iPad.  No success - and now, of course the thing is now in a totally uncertain state.  It won't ask for sync, but if iTunes starts, the iPad carries on.
Deleted and reinstalled iTunes etc.  No success.  Tried again (and again? - I have lost track)
Someone suggested going back to iTunes 11.4.  Tried that (once sorted out the library files have been changed).  Now, same result.  (it all worked happily previously)
Tried a hard reset on the iPad.  No luck
Discovered one post suggest that QuickTime may be a problem.  Deleted iTunes and Quick Time.  Reinstalled iTunes.  No success.
Discovered turingtest's post "Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows" .  Followed the steps, including deleting the folders (only Program Files (x86)/common files/apple were there) and turned off AVG.  Same bad result.
    Status:
I am thoroughly out of sorts.  And it is Tax time, which will not improve my temper.
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 installed. iCloud installed
windows 7 SP1.  The PC is not asking for any updates.
    Qucktime not installed
    iOS 8.1.2
iPad is probably useless, until problem solved - not all photos or apps downloaded
    HELP!!
iPad Air, iOS 8.1.2, Windows 7

    Try Googling "sync without iTunes".
There are free alternatives and there are not so free alternatives.
Btw, to check if AVG is causing the problem, you should uninstall AVG and not just "turn it off".
Also, can you describe how you go about uninstalling a program? For example, how did you "delete" iTunes?

  • "iTunes Has Stopped Working" when syncing iPod Touch

So in the last few days, I've been getting an error message when I try to sync my iPod Touch 2g with software version 3.1.2. After a few seconds, I get this error message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It only happens when I plug in my iPod for syncing.
I've been up and down the message boards here looking for a solution and I can't seem to find anything that works. I've uninstalled/reinstalled quicktime, then the iTunes software, I've deleted and remade my iTunes library file... I'm just at a loss. Here's the error information windows gathered up...

  • ITunes has stopped working (during sync with ipod)

This seems to be a popular problem with varied solutions -- miss my music! Hoping for help.
When I try to sync my iPod to iTunes it gets a few tunes onto the iPod then it crashes with a Windows (Vista) popup saying that "iTunes has stopped working".
I reset the iPod to factory settings, same results.
I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it, no help.
If I ask iTunes to not automatically sync, and create just one playlist and add a few tunes to it, I can get it to load about 10-20 more songs every other time or so but this is going to be painful with thousands of songs to go.
I understand from reading other posts that I may be asked to paste in information from an error log but I don't know how to get to that log.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Ah, I found this, this time, when the error popped up. Is this what's needed to figure it out?

  • "itunes has stopped working" - when syncing 4s, itunes stops at step 6.

Since updating to 10.5.1.42 itunes stops at step 6 - determining tracks to sync - when syncing with my 4S. The iphone is running 5.0.1
I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, but it still does it! Windows 7 gives me the 'itunes has stopped working and is searching for a solution' line.
Needless to say; it doesn't find one...

Here is what worked for me for both 10.5 and 10.5.1 after hoursof frustration with Itunes stopping and shutting down in the middle of a syncor tranferring Apps downloaded on my Ipad2 or Iphone 4:
Start iTunes in iTunes Safe Mode:
    1.  hold down the Shift and Control key together and clickto start iTunes.
    2.  when you see the iTunes icon in the task bar, click onit.
    3.  you will get a box that says "iTunes is running insafe mode.  Visual plug-ins you have installed have been termporarilydisabled."   [I don't know what plug-ins I installed but youshould clearly see that these so-called visual plug-ins are likely the cause ofyour issues];
    4. click Continue to open iTunes.
You could already have your device connected to your computer ordo it after opening iTunes in its safe mode.
Now press your sync button and everything should work fine.
I also disabled Genius in iTunes preferences but I'm not sure ifthis is one of the issues causing these types of problems.
I hope this works.  This may be the workaround for all ofus Windows 7 64-bit folks.

  • Itunes has stopped working when syncing iPhone 6 Plus

    Hi,
I cannot sync my iphone 6 plus with itunes. Itunes opens ok, begins syncing but when it gets to step 5 always shows the error 'itunes has stopped working - Windows will try and find a solution'.
I have tried everything from here Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
Nothing seems to work, I cannot put any of my personal music onto my phone and its driving me crazy! any help would be appreciated.

Same here....also when I restart iTunes afterward, all my devices don't even show up in iTunes at all until after you restart the computer
Even then, the problem persists. And I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting techniques

  • ITunes crashing saying "iTunes has stopped working while running iTunes Match

My iTunes is crashing while running iTunes Match saying iTunes has stopped working - I think it may be because at the 25000 song limit but I get no message or warning - just crashes. Would like to keep songs in library while deleted from cloud - can you do that?

    Hi,
Yes but you need to create a new blank library.
Hold down option key whilst opening iTunes. Chose new library from pop up. This library will be blank. Turn on match and select add this computer. Once process has been completed you will see all the tracks that you have in the cloud.
Make sure that you add iCloud status to song view as this tells you what has been matched, uploaded or purchased. You can then delete matched and uploaded tracks. You will get message that you are deleting tracks from the cloud. Don't worry about purchased tracks as they don't count towards limit.
Close iTunes and reopen the original library - again hold option key and  select choose library. With iCloud status column added to song view, you will now see that tracks that you deleted from the cloud will have an iCloud status of "Removed".  They are still on your hard drive and will be ignored during the match scan.

  • Getting itunes has stopped working error when sync wit IPad

I am getting a itunes has stopped working when sync with IPad, using windows 7

It is only when I attempt to add a song to my iPod once plugged in that I receive the error "Itunes has stopped working" and forces me to exit the program, without the song being successfully transferred.
Do you have the "Convert to 128 kbps AAC" preference enabled for syncing to the iPod, laur?
If so, it's quite plausible that you've got the iTunes 10.1.0.54 bug and we need to get you updated to 10.0.1.56 as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]

Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS.  I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer.  iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups.  It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me".  Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do?  Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

    Hello Suzanne,
Thank you for providing the details of iTunes unexpectedly quitting.  You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps already.  I found an article with additional steps you can take to further isolate and troubleshoot an issue like the one you described:
