"Itunes has stopped working" Windows Vista

Hello, my itunes stopped working about a week ago, and I haven't had the time to research it until now.
Itunes hasnt been able to start since then and I am just getting "Itunes has stopped working"
I've tried reinstalling itunes and quicktime a few times but that hasn't worked either.
I've also tried to delete any itunes and quicktime files that i can but I am not too good with that either..
I am assuming there is something more to it that I can't figure out so I decided to try here.
      Below is my problem report:

• Windows 7 - 'iTunes Has Stopped Working' Window Repeatedly Popping Up

Hi there, I've encountered a problem that I couldn't fix myself so I'm hoping someone can impart with some knowledge.
The dreaded 'iTunes has stopped working' window pops up constantly, and continues to reappear again and again. Even navigating to this forum, finding the right place to post and typing this very question is a pain as it has popped up about 7 times since I started typing it. If I leave my laptop alone for a few minutes, I come back and there's about 15 windows open saying the same thing. This is super annoying as I'm trying to get some work done, but any ounce of productivity I have is stifled by this. I am very close to headbutting the screen before I throw my laptop into oncoming traffic on the street below.
I've tried restarting the system, shutting it down and leaving it off for a bit, ending any iTunes-related processes in Task Manager but all have failed.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
HP Pavilion G6
4GB RAM
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

• Itunes has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution ....

After I just upgrade my itunes and restart the computer I click on itunes and get a message itunes has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem….’ This is then followed by another message ‘a problem caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.’
I try to open in "safe mode" and getting the same message.
I am trying to figure out what to do about my son's itouch he has lost it/stolen at school. Feeling worried and would like to be able to get in my itunes account now.

This is the simplest fix, if you're still having a problem with it.  I had the same problem, am running Windows 8.1.  Just be sure to reboot after you copy the dll (dynamic link library) file indicated.
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Let me know if you have a problem.

• ITunes has Stopped Working in Vista

Browsing this forum, I see quite a few people are having trouble with the newest version of iTunes.
Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 7.5 a few weeks ago on my 32-bit Vista Ultimate, the program will no longer run. When I try to start iTunes, I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." Also, whenever I start up Windows, I get a similar message saying "iTunesHelper Module has stopped working."
When I tell Windows to check online for a solution, it just gives me a page telling me there's a newer version of iTunes, but it is the newest version that I'm trying to run.
Any thoughts?

This solution has worked on one of my 4 computers so I can't guarantee but it might be worth a try.
Uninstall Itunes and Quicktime. Reboot your computer
Empty out the recycle bin
Use Search to locate any and all files and folders that reference itunes or quick time. Of course do not touch your music folder.
Delete all these references to itunes and quick time.
Reboot.
Download a standalone version of Quick time and install.
Download Itunes (I used version 7.4.1 that I obtained from Oldapps.com.)
Once this was done I was able to run itunes on my laptop. I did upgrade to 7.5 but I could not get my sons nano 8GB to sync so I reverted back to 7.4.1 and it works just fine.
I have yet to get itunes working on My wifes vista laptop and it quit working on my XP desktop some time ago (I have never used it and wouldn't care except my son just bought the nano) Itunes a version prior to 7.4 was running on my sons laptop until he upgrade to 7.5 when he bought the nano, just last Friday, and 7.5 totally borked things up. Aside note is that his hard drive crashed a day later, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.
If you read through this board you will find that itunes and windows are not getting along well at all. If you have a "new" ipod be it nano, classic or what ever I beleive you must use version 7.4 or newer. It seems to me that if Apple really wants floks to buy these things they should be sure the primary piece of software is stable and works!

• Itunes "has stopped working" windows solution? HELP ME

this has beeng going on for about a week, one day i went to itunes and all of all sudden said itunes has stopped working. I have uninstalled itunes and quicktime, and reinstalled. I also searched the forums and did everything what everyone suggests. I located all the files removed them, did a virus check, spyware, adware. Installed itunes and then quick time separtely but still nothing. I just dont know what else to do. Do i have to whipe my whole hard drive and start from scratch. I dont care about my songs because they arent from itunes but just imported cds i just feel like somewhere there is a corrupt itunes file or what not. please someone help me, i dont like having my ipod work with windows media player?
HELP HELP

Ok, the person above had the right idea:
Basically you need to remove ALL traces of iTunes and quicktime before reinstalling. Since you have Vista, its a little bit of a pain in the butt.
1) Go to your control panel and open "Program and Files" or whatever it is
2) Uninstall iTunes but do not reboot the computer yet.
3) Uninstall Quicktime, and any other apple products (Software Update and Media Devices)
4) Reboot.
5) Open "My Computer" and then your main drive (typically C:), scroll down to "Program Files." Verify iTunes and Quicktime folders do not exist. If they still exist, delete them.
6) Go back to C: and highlight the "Windows" folder
7) Go to the folder "System 32", and delete the Quicktime information in there.
8) Next, go to "Windows/User" and highlight each individual user's AppDate folder. Delete any "Apple" folders (it should only be Quicktime and iTunes information).
9) Finally, go to your user "Music" and move all your music to another location. Delete the iTunes cache files, including artwork. Reboot. You do not "have" to reboot, but why not.
10) Reinstall iTunes and Quicktime.
Please note: If you have just installed Ace Mega Codecs, that may be causing a conflict. It may just be a coincidence that I installed this (twice) and iTunes went down (twice), but who knows.
I hope that fixed your problems!

• "iTunes has stopped working" blue Vista error screen.

have had iTunes for years, recently tried to open it and was told that iTunes has stopped working despite not having been open.
i've tried:
searching online for a problem,
sending the info to windows,
uninstalling and then reinstalling it,
"repairing" iTunes via the add/remove program box in the control panel,
opening a mp3 file into iTunes from window's explorer,
clicking shift while opening iTunes,
installing iTunes onto a USB stick and then opening that one,
and every time it simply says "iTunes has stopped working".
this is the problem details if anyone can decifer a way to fix it from these:

Can you help?

I've also been getting the "itunes not working" message since yesterday when I try to import a cd or music files from a folder. After that message, itunes closes.
That's a different issue, das.
First you need to check your precise version number. In iTunes, go "Help > About iTunes", and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom.
If it says *iTunes 10.1.0.54* , we need to update you to version 10.1.0.56 .
If you have 10.1.0.54 installed, 10.1.0.56 probably won't appear for you in Apple Software Update. So you'll need to download the 10.1.0.56 installer from the Apple Website, as per the following document:

Any ideas?

• Itunes has stopped working windows 7 QUICK FIX

I really don't know if this will help all issues, but it sure did the trick for mine. After reading multiple workarounds and fixes for this problem (itunes crashing upon trying to play video with the message 'itunes has stopped working' - same issue with quicktime), I thought to myself, "there's GOT to be an easier way." And, in my case, there was. I went to the control panel, selected the uninstall a program feature, but instead of uninstalling, i selected itunes and clicked the 'repair' button. I did the same for quicktime. And now, both work as they should. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. Hope it helps. And if it doesn't, don't blame me. I'm not an expert - just a guy trying to share a possible quick fix to your problem. GOOD LUCK!

• AppleMobileDeviceHelper has stopped working - Windows Vista Home Premium 64

I have iTunes 9.0.1 on my Acer AX1700-U3700A running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit version. In case it matters I am using McAfee.
I can connect my iPhone 3G to my computer and iTunes finds it. But whenever I "right click" on the iPhone icon I get the dreaded "AppleMobileDeviceHelper has stopped working". I've followed Apple's uninstall and reinstall instructions twice to no avail. When I try "repairing" AppleMobileDeviceHelper I am told that I don't have the .msi file to repair it from.
I've tried the "Run iTunes as an Administrator" option but I get the same result.
I see some people recommend deleting the AppleMobileDeviceHelper binary altogether but want to make sure I'll be able to still sync my and my wife's iPhones and iPods.
Does Apple had a fix for this?
Is there some settings I need to change in McAfee? I've confirmed that iTunes has "Full Access" through McAfee (I'm only including this as in some other threads some pointed toward their anti-virus applications as part of the trouble.)

• ITunes has stopped working on Vista, help!!

Earlier today, my iTunes was working fine. But then a friend of mine wanted me to download software that included a program called "Quicktime Alternative." I was skeptical but decided to try it our anyways. After the installation of a few things, my iTunes, along with my Quicktime, has stopped working. These are the errors I get when I try to open iTunes (Quicktime has the same error except anywhere it says iTunes, it says Quicktime)

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling a few times, with no luck. I uninstalled all the files that I had previously installed at the recommendation of my friend. Still nothing. Any ideas?
Can anyone help? All help is greatly appreciated!

Those QuickTime alternatives will frequently break itunes, because iTunes depends on a good QuickTime installation. itunes uses hte Qt audio & video codecs.
See if you can download and install this QuickTime standalone. That should get iTunes working again. Make sure to get the version withOUT itunes.

Head into your Action Center and look for iTunes problem reports generated at the time of the errors. Open them up and have a look through. Do they all seem to be saying pretty much the same thing? If so, paste the content of a typical problem report into a reply here so we can have a look.

now i remember it the 5th gen has also had an error message saying it was corrupt, which i find ridiculous, as it has been working fine till now and has not until today been hooked up to my laptop for a while.
Hmmmm. It might be worth checking to see if you're getting a Windows drive letter confusion on that laptop. See the following document:

• "iTunes has stopped working" Windows 7 - Problem and Solution

Problem:
When I moved my iTunes library from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro, iTunes would always crash. The "Detail" on the error message referred to
Fault Module Name = Quicktime.qts
To troubleshoot I deleted the iTunes Libray.itl file in the user profile. Then I would "Add Folder" and point to my iTunes directory to rebuild the library. I then noticed it would always crash on the same song when "Processing Artwork".
The problem was caused by specific .mp4 song files that I had purchased from iTunes.
Solution:
This is not easy but it works . . The bad .mp4 files still work in iTunes on Windows XP. So in iTunes on Windows XP, right-click > Info > Artwork > remove the artwork from the .mp4 file. Then move the file to your Windows 7 computer and load it into iTunes. It now works without crashing. You can then add the artwork again from iTunes or from a .jpg off of Google Images.
Fix your .mp4 files one at time until there are none left that cause the crash. Remember you find them by processing the artwork . . the bad file will show in the little windows at the top of iTunes after the crash.
I am not an iTunes expert as such . . maybe there is another way to remove and replace the bad images from the .Mp4 files purchased from iTunes other than using iTunes on XP.
