ITunes hates Pearl Jam

I have a bizzare problem, I am unable to purchase anything by Pearl Jam from iTunes. It's an isolated problem, iTunes works fine for everything else and I continue to download from their service, but when I tried to complete my album for Ten, I got a "Network Timed Out" error. Thinking it was just that album, I tried getting individual songs, but still got the error message, and then I moved to entirely different albums with Pearl Jam but still they won't work. I have tried about a dozen times in the last month and have resorted to creating this post. I have checked my computers access given to iTunes and that's fine and even turned off the firewall to no avail. I AM ONLY EXPERIENCING ROBLEMS WITH PEARL JAM, ITUNES IS FINE WITH ALL OTHER ARTISTS.
P.S: I am aware that Pearl Jam can refer to semen, please no jokes and this is a genuine problem

I had a problem where iTunes would not preview or post-purchase download one specific song on an album where every other song was OK.
After doing some research with Google I turned off my security software and tried again. It worked.
If you have any type of Internet filtering on your machine in addition to your firewall, try turning it off before downloading. I was never able to figure out what data in the song kept it from being downloaded (the title was "Blue Jeans") but all I know is that it worked after I temporarily disabled the security software.

Thanks for pointing this out. Pearl Jam deserves a nod for releasing the video under that license. They also deserve credit for bringing attention to the CCL by doing so.

  • Pearl Jam Album - 9.99 vs 16.99

I was gonna buy a Pearl Jam album and noticed quite a difference in pricing between albums. For example the Live at Mansfield Mass album with 48 songs is $9.99 but the Live at State College with 36 songs is $16.99 - why the difference? Why are some of the albums only partial? Maybe some of you Pearl Jam fans might know the answers And also recommend what live albums I should buy? Thanks

  • Where is my pearl jam twenty movie? only itunes movies extras downloaded

I tried restarting the computer and it's like it never existed even though I saw it download!
    Help!

Films can currently only be re-downloaded by US iTunes accounts (and not all films as not all film studios have so far agreed to it) - if you are not in the US then you won't get films under Purchased. If you want it on you iPhone you will have to copy it from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and then sync it to the phone.

  • Itunes hates me, please help

    ok first some background info,
    i have 3 computers
1 (my net book) i take to work then i connect to my projector at home and use as my main computer (now running windows xp)
2 my server pc running ubuntu desktop but holds all my media and my own personal webserver
3 my "gaming" pc (made absolete by my ps3, wii and two xbox 360s...yeah i like gadgets) running windows 7
ok this may take a while to read but im trying to explain all of my problems and what i have tried so you get an accurate idea of what i need and may even think of a solution more tailored or a method i havent thought off lol
now my netbook was running ubuntu 10.4 and doing a **** good job of it, i could add my server pc using sshfs, i couldcontrol the server pc with a terminal and i had full control over all of my programes ...then i brought an iphone, and discovered that apple hate linux users and refuse to release a linux port of itunes... there are work arounds and i explored all that didnt involve me jailbreaking my iphone (i was acused of jailbreaking my phone as the new libmobile in ubuntu 10.04 mounts the phones filesytem (not all of it but the parts its aloud to, with out jailbreaking it, and was promptly given no more help despite me explaining that!) so i switched yeasterday to xp (grumble mumble grumble)
in the meantime i had been using my gaming machine and its tiny harddrive to store a duplicate of all my music just for itunes sake (aint i kind) but since to use the gaming pc i have to swap cables about and move it, and since i now have xp on my netbook i did the following,
i installed itunes from the website so i have the most recent one 9.1.1.12? i think
i mapped my server pcs storage drive as a drive on my netbook (z: drive)
i set the itunes music library as z:\music (this is where all my music is stored and audio books and mp4 files from my camera)
it took forever but it scanned the folder and added them to the itunes library and organise them (a nice little by-product of itunes)
i disabled auto syncing as i do not want my itunes library completly on my iphone only the music audiobooks etc that i choose
and connected my iphone to itunes
    it verified it
    and i could see it
so i clicked it and began setting it up
now the way i had it on the gaming pc was to copy the files by drag and drop from my library to my iphone icon (with the exception of apps that were auto synced, though i would rather this be a drag and drop affair too...i like to control what i put on it not any of this auto lark)
but here is where my problem starts, when i clicked apply it told me that my iphone was synced with another itunes and would have to be WIPED!!! to sync with this one, (it took 3 hours to cherry pic my music for my phone and even longer wittling the list of free apps down from more then i could fit on the phone (stupid 148 app limit) down to just the ones i wanted and the trial versions of the ones i intend to buy payday. deleteing them all NOT AN OPTION
i dont intend to sync my phone with itunes i just plan to copy the files i want to add to my iphone onto it using itunes (as apple have made sure there is no other way)
so howdo i get around this? how do i tell this silly little program that deleting the contents of my near perfectly organised phone would be a hanging offense and get it to just let me add files to my phone, back up the ones that are on there etc ?

well i had deleted my music that was duplicated on my gaming pc when i was downgrading my netbook to xp for this rather silly program so i may of deleted the file, i have no back ups of the apps, but i do have them still on my phone!
    i came up with an idea, i told itunes to back up my iphone, when it finishes ...if ever!(its taken over an hour already) i just need to;
    1) locate the folder it backed up into copy all the apps mp3s and movies into a spare folder
    2) erase the phone
    3) link it to my new itunes
    4) back up my iphone again
    5) copy the apps and movies and mp3s from 1) into the backup folder of 4)
    6) restore the backup created in 4) with the extra files.
    7) live happily ever after (optional)
well thats my cunning plan and the back up is almost done (bar looks to be 98%ish) anyone know where it puts the backups ?

  • Wiped computer and reinstalled iTunes but now jams up

I have a Windows XP computer running Media Centre Edition on Service Pack 3. It had the latest version of iTunes running my iPod with no problems but then the computer got a lot of viruses so I wiped the hard drive. After reinstalling the SAME version of XP and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes, it seemed to jam up everytime I open up the program. The install went through fine but when you double click to open the program it says there is a DEP erro (Data Execution Prevention I think?) and then it would come up witht he famous Windows message: "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close bla bla bla". A friend suggested uninstalling and then installing an older version of iTunes. So I uninstalled v10.??, and all the other Apple software including Bonjour and Quicktime, then restarted and downlaoded iTunes 9.2.1, installed that and no longer got the DEP error but still getting the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close bla bla bla". So uninstalled everything again, restarted and went back to version 8.something and still getting the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close bla bla bla". What can I do?! Is there something in the registry from when I first installed v10, which needs deleting in order to run an odler version?
    Cheers. G

  • BB for Mac freezing when trying to sync itunes to Pearl 8230

    Hi all-
Have searched the forum to no success.  Just downloaded BB for Mac and so far so good, except for one issue.  The DM will freeze/crash when trying to sync one song or a whole playlist to my BB pearl.  I can select any playlist I want, (I've made some with various file types and sizes to see if it was a file format or size error), and still had no success.  I've ensured my media card support is on, mass storage mode is on, unencrypted,  and auto enable mass storage mode when connected is on, room on the media card, and recognized by my device.  The DM recognizes my media card, and correctly identifies the amount of free space on it, allows me to select my playlist(s) and when I click 'sync', the drop down window indicates  "the following items are being synchronized" and "music", but the progress bar and the sync circle don't move.  I've left it in this state for 4 hours to return to find out nothing has changed.  I have to force quit the DM at that point.
My contacts and calendars sync fine, just no love when it comes to the music.
I have a BB pearl 8230 (4.6.1.284) on the Telus network, using an iMac running snow leopard 10.6.1, running iTunes 9.01(9)
Am I missing something?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you running the Mac in 64bit mode, if so that is a known issue. Work around appears to be switch Mac to 32 bit sync and then return to 64bit till next sync or BB RIM fix is out.

  • Itunes hates not using the C drive!

I put my songs on an external HD. This is because I use a laptop and it only has 40 gigs of storage which is good enough for keeping all my programs and school files on. But, since i also like to keep all of my music on a hard drive, i got an external for that and all my backups and what not.
Anyway, whenever i update itunes, it always wants to change my library to be back on the default C drive. WHY? thats so frustrating! is there a way to make itunes never ever ever do this ever, even after updating.
also, if for some reason i have songs in my library on my C drive and i then move them to the external, i tunes, ofcorse has no idea that this happend and demands that i tell it where every single song went. obviously this is ********.
if anyone knows of a way to move songs between drives in a way that itunes wont get all confused, please let me know.
    thanks

Sorry this not much of an answer to your question but rather repeating similar issues I'm having. I installed an external hard drive to keep my songs on. Followed an instruction I found on apple web site which says to change the default location of music library. I did that to point to the external drive and closed iTunes app. Later I copied the iTunes library folder on my C: drive to the external HD. When I restarted iTunes it didn't know where to find the songs. So I followed File->Import folder and told where the songs were. Takes forever but the songs were finally in my music library again. However when the external HD disappears (like when I shut down my wifi) and I start iTunes again it freaks out every single time. Changes default location back to C: drive and when I point it back to the external HD it wants to do this "determining gapless playback" thing which takes forever over the wifi and external HD.
If anyone knows an effective way to do this it would be much appreciated.

  • ITUNES HATES ME!! help!

    Hey. Before i start:
    ARGHHHH!!!
now thats over; here is my problem.
my computer recently crashed, so i had to re-download everything, including itunes. this was fine. however the computer had none of my old songs on it. no biggie because they where all on itunes(WHERE). This was fine, and i could live with this for a while until i realised that my iphone had decided to not sync some led zeppling, rage against the machine and kings of leon songs. "strange thinks me" - what's weirder is that they had disapeared from itunes..."odd thinks I"
so i put the led zepp, ratm, coheed and cambria cd's into my pc (i recently moved and threw out all my cds because i stupidly thought i would have an eternal software version of them)- they upload to my itunes without a problem, then i notice i can't drag them into the iphone; slightly annoyed. because i redownloaded itunes i had to reselect the "manually manage music and videos".
but for some ridicolous reason that i can't fathom, if i want to change how I put songs onto the iphone through ITUNES, the IPHONE has to erase everything and re-sync? what one earth!?
so i backup the iphone, "this will store the music, then i can restore it after it changes to manually add music" - says I - 20 minutes later; funny, it hasn't restored my 2,500+ songs. i'll try again. same, again, same, again. now i'm crazy. because not only has the iphone deleted all my songs. they are no longer on itunes...STRANGE
and now i have new apps to add, but it will wipe all my bought apps, which aren't appearing in the purchased folder...so Apple...
WHY can't we drag songs from our music library into the iphone? without changing a setting and losing everything?
WHY can't we drag songs from our iphones into the itunes music library? without being tempted to download possibly harmful programs?
WHY does it need to erase everything and resync to change a setting?
WHY have i lost 2,500 songs?
WHY have i spent so much money to swear and scream at a phone/pc for the last 2 hours?!?!?!?!
    and where are my apps?!
HELP before i explode into a nerd rage!
Thanks; a crazed, confused teenager. lol

No, you didn't backup your library and computer hard disc otherwise you wouldn't be having any of these problems. This is what is in a iPhone backup set - nothing thats kept in iTunes basically.

Yes, I had the antivirus disabled when I installed both itunes and updater. That did not work. I am calling Norton to rip them one. And I will see if they know a solution.l HELP!!!!

  • TS1538 Windows 7 & iTunes hate my iPhone 4S; HELP!

Windows 7 will not recognize my iPhone 4S nor will iTunes. I've followed the directions at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 & nothing has helped. I uninstalled MobileMe, but that didn't help. Other ideas?

Temporarily disable any security software on the computer, then attempt to sync content to the device.
If that resolves the problem, contact whomever supports the security software (not Apple) and inquire how to prevent their software from intereferring with iTunes.

  • My iTunes hates me and won't upgrade or uninstall??

So I went to upgrade my itunes the other day because my itunes store hasn't been working. Every time I start the upgrade it downloads something then says run or open file so I click run then a box pops up that says repair or remove. So I click repair then it loads some stuff then it says:
    Error writing to file C:\Program
Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\iTunes.dll Verify that you have access to that directory.
So then I click Retry and it doesn't work so then I click cancel and it doesn't work. So I got mad and removed the link off my desktop. Then I went to my computer and tried to uninstall it, and it won't even let me do that! It does the same exact thing. I have noooooo idea what to do.

Presumably you are using an account with admisitrator rights.
Was the error number 2330 by any chance?
Anyway as a first step try running a disk check. In XP, you would go to My computer, then right click on the c: drive and select Properties>Tools>>Error Checking.
The check takes place when you next restart your computer and can take a while.
I am not sure if it is the same in Vista.
Anyway once you have done that, try the following for cleanup and reinstall:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
    Vista
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305409
If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • ITunes hates me and won't open  HELP!

Basically, every time I try to start up iTunes, it says there was an error and the program had to close. I've tried reinstalling iTunes to fix missing programs etc. and I've tried changing some of the audio settings like the support page said to, but it still keeps saying there was an error. I also tried the handy-dandy debugging button, but then it says "An exception 'Unhandled Win32 Exception" has occured in iTunes.exe. However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Unable to JIT debug.' Unfortunately, I don't understand computer jargon, and am technologically challenged haha. Any suggestions?

  • Why does iTunes hate Oasis?

I ripped the album "Definitely Maybe" onto my computer with iTunes, then transferred it to my iPod. In iTunes, the tracks had their correct track numbers. However, on the iPod, it rearranges them in the wrong order.
This is the only album out of about 150 on my iPod that has this problem. Shuffle is off.
Bizarrely, if I change the album name to ANYTHING else, the tracks are ranked in the proper order. If I change it back to "Definitely Maybe", it screws it up again.

    Ha! That's a thought.
I am not having this trouble at all, K S.
You could report it as a bug to Apple I suppose...sorry my suggested workaround didn't do the trick. I really appreciate your taking the time to try my idea and posting back the news, bad that it was.
[edit: perhaps someone else with "Definitely Maybe" will post here, too...I don't fancy buying it, just to see if it does the same to me]
