ITunes HD movie download stuck at 0%

I've been waiting days for Cars 2 HD to download. Standard def and iTunes extras file downloaded fine. HD just stuck at 0%. iTunes support after several attempts have just washed their hands of the situation and told me to telephone support and effectively pay money to resolve it! And they blamed my router, which has worked fine for other downloads!
Anyone had the same problem lately? I saw this problem on posts that were a couple of years old on Apple TVs.

Wifi. It has actually downloaded now, but that was hours and hours later, and I was frustrated I couldn't watch it at that time... It is sooooo frustrating (maybe I'm just impatient!).
There doesn't appear to be a refresh/ stop function- *big oversight Apple*. I tried quitting iTunes, turning the phone off and on etc and nothing helped.
It's rather like sending an iMessage that gets stuck and takes about 20mins, whereas a simple SMS text is gone in a second- maybe they like frustrated customers?

Rented movie download stuck

I have rented two movies in iTunes with my iPhone an successfully downloaded one. The second movie downloaded 500mb and stopped. Now when I try to restart the download I get and error saying tap to retry. I have tapped for a day and am all tapped out. I saw one suggestion to delete the download and search for available downloads. That would probably work if I were stuck downloading to a pc but the download is stuck on my phone and I can't figure out how to delete it. Any help would be great.

Mmmm...then you're gonna have to contact iTunes support & have them clear your download queue. Explain the entire situation & they should let you re-download on your computer at no additional cost. Itunes support are the only one's that can clear your queue if you were unable to do so by checking for available downloads.

ATV iTunes store movie downloads vanished

Having searched for related topics and come up empty, I am posting a new thread concerning iTunes store movies purchased directly to and lost from my ATV (disclaimer: in searching for related topics, almost all of my key words showed up results of "0", so I am suspicious that the support site is wonky ... I had to scan for related topics and tired of it before finding anything close). I have the iTunes receipts, so I am sure that I "purchased" the movies and did not "rent" by accident. Both movies have vanished from my ATV, without having been watched. They also do not appear on any of my other computers iTunes libraries. I did verify that they were purchased and were listed with a movie downloaded from my desktop computer to ATV, which is still present on my ATV. Just the two movies purchased through iTunes directly to my ATV are lost.
Having read Winston Churchill's post on ATV not being a back up device, I am wondering if the ATV has problems with retaining content. If it is not able to reliably store files, is it in fact just an expensive "chord" linking my computer to a tv? (Winston Churchill refers to the ATV as an "iTunes extender", not a stand alone device ... could have sworn my ATV is "standing alone").
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

just wondering where you got this information from (how the iTunes movies are formatted/encoded)? is there an apple technical document that gives the specs for the iTunes movies? has Apple released this information? if so where (could you possibly include a link?), and if not, how do you know it? i'm encoding some of the DVDs that i own to put on my ipod using handbrake. Does this mean that if i set my handbrake average bitrate to 1500 kbps (and the format to MPEG-4) that i will be importing them at the same quality as the movies on iTunes? thanx very much!

Itunes HD movie download: -50 error message

hi there!
last nite i purchased an HD movie from Itunes on my mac. when i woke up this morning, the download had timed out. 2.29G of 2.54G had been downloaded... so close!?!? there was a '-50 unknown error' message on my screen saying that maybe my internet connection had been interrupted and to try again.
so i restarted my mac and tried to resume the download... and the same -50 error message popped up again. the internet connection seems fine too. i gave up after the 5th time. ugh.
does anyone know what i should do next?

ITunes direct movie downloads in iPhone 3GS

I'm probably being really simple here, but I can't seem to download any movies or TV shows directly from the iTunes store on my iPhone. Music works fine, as well as podcasts, but if I go into a movie (seems to be any movie), I get a preview button in the top right hand corner, but I can't click it. So all I'm left with is a description page of a movie. I've tried signing in and out, restarting the phone as well.
What am I doing wrong?

Yeah I'm talking about the on phone Itunes store. And I was on my home wifi network at the time.
When I've tried to download larger files in the app store (think the limit is 10MB for over 3G/edge downloads), I've always been allowed to get as far as pressing the buy button, before I get a warning that the file is too big and I have to be on wifi to download.
With the TV shows and movies, I'm not even seeing a buy button.

Movie download stuck, need to switch to SD instead of HD

We accidentally purchased an HD version of a movie - and there isn't enough memory on the iPod to download that movie. The download is now stuck with the "Tap to resume download" verbiage on the Downloads page.
Obviously, we can click that, and it hangs up, because there isn't enough space to download the movie. We tried going into the Apple Account, and switching the format, but it appears that the movie isn't showing up as downloaded... so we are wondering if we are stuck between actually purchasing the video, and getting it downloaded. It still appears that the movie price hasn't been deducted from our account, but that is likely because it is still trying to download.
1. Is there a way to abort the download, even though it appears that it is wanting to continue to download.
2. If there isn't a way, how do we switch between downloading the HD version (too large) to the SD version, which should work for us.
3. What else should we be trying? Just seem to be locked here with no place to go.
Please help.

Ended up having to contact customer support - as the download was stuck. They were able to clear it from the system and we are good to go.

ITunes store movie download and quicktime and other media players

(1) Have bought a movie and downloaded it from the iTunes store.It playable using quicktime but not playable on the other 5 media players installed on my laptop.Is this the way it should be?

II'm having the same exact problem! I rented this movie and tried to download it. It got all the way to the "processing" stage at the end but then failed and I had to retry the download. Well it kept saying that I had to retry so I restarted my iPad and checked tried to I check under my downloads in the iTunes Store. The downloads tab had disappeared so I decided to check under my videos and sure enough it was there. I went to the movie and there was a play arrow and a cloud with an arrow on it to download it. I tried to play it and I brought me to the movie screen but then closed and brought me back to the home page. Then I tried to download it from there but it would just say: "You've already rented this movie but it is not download. Go to the iTunes Store to manage your downloads." So I go back to the iTunes Store but can't find downloads anywhere. (it's not by the purchased tab on the bottom right) I tried to search the movie again and instead of saying rent or buy, it says watch but when I try to tap "watch" it bring me to videos and the black movie screen but then closes again!! This is extremely frustrating and if anyone knows what to do that would be great. also I rented a movie today (divergent) to see if my previous movie, Hancock (the one I'm having troubles with) would appear in the downloads also. Sadly it did not, but divergent downloaded and played with no problems and it is also a larger movie.

Itunes ipad app download STUCK help!

What started as a minor annoyance has evolved into a major hassle.
I attempted to download Sherlock Holmes in HD the other day totally overlooking the fact that there is definitely far to little space remaining on my 16 gig ipad to actually download and store the movie..
I only realized this was the case after getting a request to enter my itunes password about every 10 minutes. I didn't realize why it was asking me and it was starting to drive me crazy..!! What I now realize is that I think with a ending download the itunes store is trying to get me to authenticate myself to restart the download.. But I still have no room on my iPad.
When i load up the itunes app it indicates with the red '1' on the downloads that i have a pending download,.. The big problem is..
There is no way to abort it!,
The app lists the download with "download error" and there is a little "pause" icon next to the download. Then there is a button hat says restart and when i click it it counts up "110 bytes" then "232 bytes" then some sort of download error is listed.
Does anyone know how to just delete/abort/kill this download attempt...? It seems as long as it exists in my itunes app download queue I will be constantly asked for my iTunes password each and every time it auto initiates the next a attempt to download it..
Help?!? Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks for all the suggestions. I just ended up calling apple and the tech person placed a call into billing and the rental was removed from my account and voilà! The pending download disappeared from my iTunes app on my iPad moments later.. Problem solved.. I can go back to loving my ipad and not feeling like it is harassing me to constantly log into my iTunes account!!

Storage increase not being recognized by iTunes for movie download

I purchased additional storage bc the videos I was trying to download could not complete however now when I try to resume downloading the videos I am still getting errors saying that I do not have enough storage even though settings shows more than enough. I tried restating all my devices but the videos still will not resume download. One of the videos is a rental that I purchased on iTunes and I'm concerned that it will only respect my purchase rights if I delete it. The other videos are a tv show that I purchased in iTunes and I tried delete and re-downloading but to no avail. Has anyone ever had this issue before?

If you've bought extra iCloud storage then you've bought extra space for your backups, that won't give you any extra space for downloading content onto your iPad.
Your current available space on your iPad is shown in Settings > General > About > Available - if the film that you are trying to download is in HD format then it could be 5.5+ gig (It's size should be shown on its description page in the store)

Movie Download stuck at 2.1GB of 3.2GB for over 24 hours, keeps failing. How do i delete it and start over?

I have been trying to download an HD movie which is 3.2GB and it has gotten as far as 2.1GB several times over the last 24 hours but it keeps failing at 2.1GB stating: DOWNLOAD ERROR. TAP TO RETRY. Should I find a way to delete it and start over? Any suggestions?

Does anyone know how to remove an unfinished movie download from an ipod touch

I need some help with my ipod touch 4
I download the movie but it showed that i dont have enough space and it wont let me to remove or delete the movie. I tried everything but no luck. I dont want to see unfinished movie download stuck in my download for vidoes. I want to remove it ASAP so i can download any program in future.

Yea - that's what I'd try'd first. Unfortunatly the Snow Leopard Server was not able to remove those Items from the Mountain Lion System after the update. So I updated also the Server to Moutain Lion Server. The interessting part was, that after the server update the MPB wasn't registered any more on the server. So I'd registred it again und published a new Dock policy. That worked fine so far, and brought up this nice new policy icon in the system settings and removed the broken link. How ever, the plan was to deregister the MBP again because I dont want to manage it over the server anymore. At this point I'd faild and get was back to starting point, because the stupid system restored the old brocken links...
I guess I have to understand how ML store the non users specific Dock settings as well as the network registrations from the old system if I want to fix it. Unfortunatly I did'd find an answer to that quastion. So maybe you have an idea?

Which iPad are you using? Mine (First generation) simply crashes to the desktop--I don't get any error message, however, I am able to stream movies flawlessly with my iPhone 4s in both wireless and 4G modes.
