ITunes Help! I can't sync my Ipad Mini Retina to iTunes, it doesn't even come up on the 'choose devices' screen

I can't work out how to sync my New 'Mini iPad Retina'. I am using the USB cable to attach it to my iPad and the other end into my laptop, i have signed in to iTunes, and i choose 'Devices' But it wont pop up anywhere, even waiting for 10 minutes. I also check when i plug the USB cable into my laptop, in -'Computer'
--> 'Devices' . It's not there either. Someone help please!!!!

Any one or a combo may help.
Give your mini a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. Then try again.
Try a different USB port
Try a different cable
Is your iTUnes up to date? If not, update it.
If that doesn't work, (if you're on a PC) go into the control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. THen redownload and reinstall iTunes and give it another try.

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:

Yes ... with regard to syncing. Actually, you need to be running OS X 10.6.8. This is copied from the iPad Mini tech specs website.

iCloud requires OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher. You will need to upgrade to either Lion or Mountain Lion in order to set up iCloud on your Mac. First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.

working files aare not backed up as far as I know. You must either 1)"copy to itunes", then use itunes to save as... to your desktop machine. Or 2) use iCloud to keep the docs.
I also learned this the hard way. No way i know of to get the working docs back.

You need iTunes version 10.7 or later. Your OS, however, Mac OS X 10.5.8, does not support a newer version of iTunes. You need to upgrade your computer's OS. When I try to register my iPad mini with the Apple Support in my profile page, it says that my serial number is already registered to another Apple ID, and to check to see if I've got any other IDs. I ordered this directly from Apple when it was released, and it had never been opened. I contacted Apple, and their records show that it's registered to me. You do realize that the message means that you need to download iTunes on the computer and not on the iPad - correct? I just want to make sure that you know that.

I have got an iPad mini that i have buyed in the United States, i can`t sync my iPad mini with iTunes, i have made all the things that says in this tutorial.
But when the PC booted and connected my iPad, Windows did not detected my iPad, i tried to restart Apple Mobile Device Handler, but it did not work , i NEED to make my iPad to sync, in this computer i have all my music.

make one last pass and make sure you are using the most current version of I tunes for windows.
You might also want to turn off any A.V. or firewall you might be running, and see if that makes a difference.

Brand new iPad Mini Retina won't charge when its connected to my PC

I just opened up my brand new iPad Mini Retina and attempted to plug it into my PC and set it up. The iPad quickly recognizes my PC, briefly displays the charge symbol then immediately displays "not charging." I have attempted to plug the iPad into the wall, and it charges just fine. All the cables I'm using are straight out of the box which I bought right from the Apple Store so I know its not any of those. My laptop is fully charged and also plugged into the wall, so I know its not my computer. I also double checked everything by plugging my iPhone 5 into my computer (with the new iPad lightening cable) and it charges/syncs just fine. Im stumped, please help me fix my brand new iPad Mini Retina.
