ITunes Help Missing on PC

After updating to iTunes 10.5 and to ios 5, iTunes help is no longer available on my PC.  When I look for it via the pull down menu, I get this message:
NOT FOUND
The requested URL/itunes/win/10.5 was not found on this server.  Appache 2.2.3 (Oracle) Server at help.apple.com Port 80.
A similar question has already been posted but their are no responses other than mine - commiserating with the person who posted.  I am teetering on the edge of the iCliff!!  Can someone - anyone? - help me?
Thanks in advance!

If you had a mac I would tell you where to find iTunes Helper, but I wouldn't know on Windows PC. I suggest that you uninstall iTunes, restart the PC, and reinstall iTunes; it is IN the package that installs iTunes... I hope this helps.

  • Missing Itunes Help Files?

When I search for subjects within Itunes Help nothing shows up (just a blank dialog box with Help headers at the top). When I select Itunes & Itunes Store Help from the Help menu I used to get a Help guide as the first dialog window telling me particular subjects of interest and a search box -- this dialog no longer appears. I think this may have occured after a recent Itunes update. I really rely on the Help Facility to use Itunes. Any suggestions on how to get it back? Should I reinstall my current version of Itunes?

  • HT203175 How does one fix the  problemd.... "application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing  MSVCR80.dll" ?  This started after the last "update" of itunes

With a recent update of itunes, ( a couple weeks ago), when plugging in my iphone, itunes did not automatically launch...and when manually selecting itune to open I recieve the statement ...
"application itunes helper.exe - mobile me service failed to start becasue missing  MSVCR80.dll" ?
I have gone to the itunes site and reloaded itunes....and did not fix the problem. ....help

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Missing itunes helper

I mistakenly removed the itunes helper from my account login and now itunes does not start automatically when I connect my iphone. I have spotlighted my hard drive trying to find it, but I can't find anything. Any suggestions on how to get the itunes helper running on my account login again?
    Thanks in advance.

FInd the iTunes application, control-click it, choose Show Package Contents, open the Contents folder followed by Resources, and drag the iTunesHelper into the list of login items for your account.

  • My iPod 4G, after reset and iOS 6 install, now has only some album art after syncing music. Even music directly downloaded from iTunes is missing album art. (I'm using iTunes 11.0.1 on Windows Vista)

My iPod 4G, after a reset and iOS6 install, after I recopied and synced music, is missing most album art. Even songs directly downloaded from iTunes are missing album art. I'm using iTunes 11.0.1 on Windows Vista. My iPod isn't full. Whenever I go to "On This iPod" and add album art and sync, nothing happens. Please help :/

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • I have a new iMac running iTunes 10.4 in OS 10.6.8, and a new Mac Air running iTunes 10.4 in Lion.  I was able to transfer all my music etc. from the iMac onto the Air, but cannot figure out how to get the Playlists from the iMac to the Air.  iTunes Help

I have a new iMac running iTunes 10.4 in OS 10.6.8, and a new Mac Air running iTunes 10.4 in Lion.  I was able to transfer all my music etc. from the iMac onto the Air, but cannot figure out how to get the Playlists from the iMac to the Air.  iTunes Help says File >Library >Export playlist and choose XML, or to save a copy of all your playlists, File > Library > Export Library, "the Exported info is saved in XML format."  Then it says, "to import an iTunes playlist, File > Library > Import Playlist".  Now I am assuming I do that import part on the Air, but when I try it doesn't recognize anything that can be imported - what am I missing??? Aside from a clue...

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time, but the reply is unfortunately vague in the exact area of my confusion!  "you need to copy that file to your new computer..."  Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export.  Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)?  Copy it to and from a thumb drive?  But then place the file where?  And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)?  Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

  • Itunes helper is corrupt...can't update itunes!!!

Using the dreaded Vista, I have now tried to uninstall and reinstall the newest version of Itunes. My itunes/helper/resouces folder claims to be corrupt. When I try to empty all Itunes folders to start from scratch, I can't get rid of ituneshelper/resources. The folder says it has 0K in it, but I get error message 0x80070091 "directory not empty". Now I can't complete the itunes download, therefore, my older version is gone and I now have NO itunes! I also get an error message when trying to install the new 7.3, "there is an error with your installer" and it doesn't complete the download process. This is HORRIBLY frustrating..especially since when I got my new laptop back in March, everything worked fine...I don't know what starting jacking everything up...now I can't upload my ipod, and as of today my itunes is GONE! Help!

For everyone having this problem, the itunes store horizontal scroll bar missing, please report it to Apple
itunes menu > help >provide itunes feedback

A somewhat workaround is to click on the words "Itunes Store" twice pretty quickly, so itunes opens a 2nd screen for the store. Then at least it is big enough to see the free download buttons for this week's free downloads!

  • ITunes help, Japanese, no help (Windows)

It has taken so long to find an input field in this registry that I've almost forgotten the problem. Perhaps that is by design - to frustrate, defuse, and eliminate reports of problems.
I've adopted iTunes for Windows, in English on a Japanese system, but when I click on the help menu, what but Japanese appears? The help on "help" I needn't explain beyond the subject heading.
What's the problem with getting language specific iTunes help, regardless of operating systems or users' locations?
    Cheers, Paul

  • I was looking through itunes help and saw where you could create a new library.  I did so, but cannot find my old one. Where is it? How do I get it back?

I was looking through itunes Help and asw where you could create a new a new library. I did but cannot see or find my old library.
All my music is missing. Where is it? How do I get it back?

Generally your library will be in your music folder in an iTunes folder, more specifically a library.itl file.  If it isn't there then for some reason it has disappeared and can be restored from the backup you make of your computer.

  • Error message "iTunes Helper Resources not available" and saving to wrong Drive

I am trying to upgrade iTunes to 10.7 on my PC but I keep getting the error message "iTunes Helper Resources not available". Diagnostics take me a support page which talks about not being able to see the device in iTunes - but I can see the device without problems.
I thought I would try reinstalling iTunes from the webpage and it downloaded to my PC fine but when I went to setup, it showed me it is saving to a DVD drive - not my Hard drive. It also won't let me change the location for the file. I have no idea how that's happened as I obviously don't use the DVD drive as a USB (although the PC see's it as one) and I've never chosen it as the location for iTunes in the 7-8 years that I've been using it.
I then thought I'd try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (to the correct drive) but again, it comes up that the DVD drive is invalid and won't uninstall iTunes.
So I'm stuck and haven't been able to find anything helpful on the support pages or in iTunes Help.
    Please someone help ...
    Thanks.

Try the following user tip. (Probably, the section on clearing the installation database might be best given that you've currently got a drive on the problematic letter at the moment.)

  • I want to transfer a movie I have downloaded from itunes to my new IPAD. I have been on the itunes help menu, it tells me to look under 'devices' tab for IPAD. BUT there is no 'devices' tab and it does not list my new IPAD. Help!

I want to transfer a movie I have bought in itunes to my new IPAD. I have been trying to work how to do this for 3 days now. I have accessed all the itunes help and forums and wiki online. They all tell me to go to the DEVICES tab on itunes and select IPAD then sync. YUP seem simple, BUT there is not DEVICES tab listed on my itunes and it does not list IPAD. Years ago I set up my IPOD no problem and that is listed, but not the new IPAD. Can anyone help? I would love to be able to actually watch films on my IPAD!! thanks

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.
Has your iPad been synced to the computer before ? If not then you might find this page for syncing to a new computer useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • I can access and use the store just fine - but when I try to open iTunes HELP, I just get a blank/white Help box. Any thoughts or ideas? Dee

Not sure if I have to repeat question, but I cannot access the iTunes HELP from the Store on my PC (Dell laptop/Windows 7) - opens the box, but it remains blank/white, never fills in with HELP information. Any thoughts? dee

  • I received a gift card and when I redeemed it an error message said that I had some itunes files missing and that I needed to reinstall itunes.  Will I still have all my credits when I download itunes?

I received an online gift card for Father's Day.  When I tried to redeem the gift then I received a error message saying I had some itune files missing and I needed to reinstall/download itunes.  Will I still have my previous purchase credits after downloading and reistalling itunes?

You will, because the credited funds are on your iTunes account, not the application. When you reinstall iTunes just configure it with your old iTunes account and your credits will be there waiting for you.

  • I am trying to install itunes after downloading Windows 8.1.  I get an Windows Error 2 message--  "Apple Application Support is required to run itunes helper."  Any suggestions?

I am trying to install itunes (64 bit) after downloading Windows 8.1 on my HP Laptop.  I keep getting an error message Windows Error 2--"Apple App;ication Support is required to run itunes helper"  Does anyone have any simple suggestions for a user with limited knowledge of Computers?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
