"Itunes helper is not running" has a red light on under the Support services catergory of device connectivity test during Diagnostics check

When I ran the itunes Diagnostics Test for my new ipad, I had one test result that had a button in front of the test name, which was red.
The test was in the Device Connectivity Tests Portion, under the Support Services Category, Titled " itunes Helper is not running ".
What does this mean and how can I correct this situation, so the itunes helper is running?

For some reason my new iPod Touch was having problems registering. It finally registered but it has named my info "owner" instead of my actual name which all my other iPods were named under. I would recommend uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified of the articles below. Once you completely uninstall, download iTunes and install the program again.

Itunes helper is not working

apps will not sync to my iPhone 4 from my itunes 10.6.1.7 Error with itunes
When I did a diagnostic test on itunes it said itunes helper is not working. My apps sync up till the step 6 (last step) then itunes says not responding and i have to end task in my task manger. an someone who has been where I am on this issue and solved please help me to solve this? TIA

OK I went ahead and selected abort on the message that I got and iTunes installed. Now everytime I open it I get these messages:

In addition to what Lewis mentioned, please also take a try with the following suggestions:
Method 1.
Change the settings to "Never check for updates (not recommended)", click OK, and then change it back to "Install updates automatically". After that, click check for updates.
Method 2.
Update Windows Defender first:
1. Make sure time is sync. 2. Update Windows defender first, then click check for updates.
Method 3. rebuild the SoftwareDistribution folder:
Goto start > type services.msc
Scroll down to find Windows Update service
make sure Windows Update service is stopped, else right click and stop it
Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ and delete all files in it
Come back to services.msc and start Windows Update
service

solved. was a firefox addon called 1password
solved by deleting the desktop version of hte app and reinstalling
1password support was useless. didnt even know a piece of their own software. suggested it was a ffox profile issue. red herring.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Error message "iTunes Helper Resources not available" and saving to wrong Drive

I am trying to upgrade iTunes to 10.7 on my PC but I keep getting the error message "iTunes Helper Resources not available". Diagnostics take me a support page which talks about not being able to see the device in iTunes - but I can see the device without problems.
I thought I would try reinstalling iTunes from the webpage and it downloaded to my PC fine but when I went to setup, it showed me it is saving to a DVD drive - not my Hard drive. It also won't let me change the location for the file. I have no idea how that's happened as I obviously don't use the DVD drive as a USB (although the PC see's it as one) and I've never chosen it as the location for iTunes in the 7-8 years that I've been using it.
I then thought I'd try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (to the correct drive) but again, it comes up that the DVD drive is invalid and won't uninstall iTunes.
So I'm stuck and haven't been able to find anything helpful on the support pages or in iTunes Help.

Try the following user tip. (Probably, the section on clearing the installation database might be best given that you've currently got a drive on the problematic letter at the moment.)

Reistallation of older or up to date iTunes versions is impossible because: "Installation package iTunes.msi is located on a network resource not available" and because "It is impossible to remuove thew previous verson of iTunes. Impossible fto find the path."

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

My iphone 3gs is not working properly, when switched on it says 'Update Completed' as though it has just been updated. On the next screen it says to 'Connect to iTunes'. It doesn't, however, connect to iTunes and more often than not just resets itself.

It doesn't, however, connect to iTunes and just resets itself over and over until power is gone. Occasionally after switching on and off a few times it functions normally for a few hours and some times even a couple of days but eventually always turns itself off and goes back to the 'Update Completed' screen. Does anyone know what might be causing this and/or a way of fixing it?

Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?
