Itunes Icon bounces, will not open PLEASE HELP!?

I have an Imac G4 running 10.4.11. I am/was using Itunes 7.6.4. About a month ago afer downloading and installing updates from the system updater, My Itunes stopped working. When I attempt to open the app either from the dock or from the applications folder, the Icon will bounce once, sometimes two or three times, then stop, and the App will never load. I tried repairing permissions, no response. I tried removing the "com.apple.itunes.plis" file from User>Library>Preferences because i saw it in a forum for a similar problem on this site, no response. I backed up my music, deleted itunes, and reinstalled, no response. I deleted the application, then attempted to install an older version of itunes 7.5, same result.
I dont know if it matters, but i have a Shuffle model A1204, and an Iphone. I am at a loss. I have all my discs that came with the computer, and I'm up for trying anything. Im at whits end. Please help.

You may have to reinstall the OS or even upgrade to Leopard. By the way, get a new mac if you want to upgrade.

My iTunes will not open.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same message keeps showing up when I try to open iTunes.   The error reads "C\Windows\system32\dssenh.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
    Please Help!!!

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with one of the Windows OS dlls associated with Cryptographic Services.
I'd first try the fixit from the following Microsoft document. (One of the things it does is reregister your copy of the dssenh.dll file.)
You cannot install some updates or programs
... but if you still get the issue, I'd try an sfc /scannow as per the instructions in the following document:

  • My Itunes will not open, please help

I am running version 10.7.0.21 - since upgrade itunes will not open.  I have visited the support site and done many things to get this working - taken hours of my time I do not have, including setting up a new user and same result.
My PC is running Windows 7.  I need my itunes as I have 4 ipods and 3 iphones - I need to back up a phone as I have just upgraded,
One error I seem to have caught is as follows:

  • The iphoto and itunes will not open please help

on my Mac G5 the iphoto and itunes will not open can anyone help

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Then, hold the Option key down when trying to open iPhoto, does it ask where it's Library is? Or what exactly happens?

Hello, I have a question mark on the dock where once were icons which were not opening for
iphoto and system preferences. If I
Install it from your iLife or computer's original disk, using Pacifist if needed, and then run the latest applicable iPhoto updater.
will it erase any photos I have on my computer?

  • Itunes 7.0.2 will not open- please help!

I have just downloaded the new itunes 7.0.2. It downloads seemingly successfully and the icon appears on my desktop but if I try to open it an hourglass appears for a second, then disappears and then nothing happens at all. It refuses to open at all and gives no error message.
    Please help!!

Make sure your Windows software is up to date. I was having the exact same problem, but then I went to microsoft.com, updated my software (I don't use the automatic updates), rebooted, then removed iTunes, iPod, and QuickTime completely from my computer (using add/remove programs in the Control Panel), rebooted, then reinstalled iTunes 7, and now it is working perfectly.
Also check to make sure your anti-virus software firewall is allowing full access to itunes.exe, ituneshelper.exe, quicktimeplayer.exe, qttask.exe, and qtinfo.exe.
Hope this helps. Only took me five hours to get mine working.

  • ITunes will not open, please help

the instruction at "0x0079f791" referenced memory at "0x7ffe0304." the memory could not be "written"
This is the error received by my friend when she tries to start her iTunes, and I was wondering if anyone else had seen this; It sounds more like a memory allocation error than an error with iTunes, but I figure it's worth a shot... any idea what's going on there and how to fix it?
    Thanks!

  • Apps will not open please help

When i try to open some of my apps on my 3rd gen ipod touch they will open and then close before i can do anything. what do i do?

Before you try the previously suggested options, open itunes on your sync computer and reauthorize your account, then connect the device and sync it.
I had this problem which appears to be related to the apple function to "deauthorize" your device in the event it is lost or stolen. There is also an KB out there on this as well.
Hope that this information is of value.

    HI,
First, there are no Mac viruses in the wild.
recently random sites have had a warning message thing come up that looks like a Norton Anti-virus telling me to run my browser in 'safe' mode or something.
So far it hasn't really done anything malicious, but I'd like to stop it before it does.
The file is an .exe file and unless you are running a Windows partition on your Mac, the Mac OS X cannot open those files. You're OK! If you are running Windows then you would need anti virus software, but it would be installed on the Windows partition, not the Mac OS X.
Nothing to be worry about. They are trying to get your to purchase anti virus software. Norton a/v for a Mac is the worst thing you could install. It's invasive and impossible to UNinstall.
You are running Snow Leopard... read here.

  • TS3212 Installed itune on my pc,when I click on icon it will not open

Installed itunes on my pc,when I click on icon it will not open.

First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:

If you still get the errors after that, try the following user tip:

  • I bought an mp3 download of a cd online (not in iTunes) and it will not open in itunes.

I tried everything. Importing the songs through file, add to library, which usually works. I tried double clicking it and clicking "open with itunes". I even tried dragging each song individually and dropping into itunes but nothing will work! Please help!
Also, the files are completely fine. They open in Quicktime and play just fine. They just will not open in itunes.

Have you tried going to menu > file > option+create new version > create AAC and select tracks from your disc. You track should be converted as they are added to library.
You will need to change import preference to AAC if you have have them set as mp3.

    5-Uninstalled iCloud
6-Uninstalled any left over Apple software
    7-Restarted Computer
    8-Installed iTunes
    9-Restarted Computer
I did not install iCloud.  I was able to authorize my PC and Sync did work.
