ITunes ID Not Being Recognized by iTunes Program

Hello,
I have signed up for iTunes and gone through all the required steps.  I've created my Apple ID (it works perfectly), verified my email, I have chosen my payment option (PayPal), etc.  The iTunes program itself takes me to my browser to my PayPal account.  Once I have clicked on using that as my payment source, my browser takes me to the iTunes store where it tells me I have to download the program.  The program IS downloaded and installed on my PC.  When I go to iTunes and sign in with my Apple ID it recognizes the ID but tells me it hasn't been used with the account and wants me to put my payment information in again.  This goes on time after time after time.  The iTunes program refuses to accept the payment acceptance in my browser and will not let me into my account.  iTunes is not communicating with my browser.
How in the world do I fix this?  I can't keep linking Paypal to iTunes again and again.  That's just annoying.

Let me further clear up something:
When I go to iTunes and sign in with my Apple ID it recognizes the ID but tells me it hasn't been used with the account and wants me to put my payment information in again.
Not only does it want payment info again, but it wants me to sign up again complete with creating an Apple ID despite I've already signed in with a valid Apple ID.

    I had this problem too and my roommate solved it!
    Go to 'Settings'
    'Music'
    Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
    Then connect to iTunes and sync!

    I have been trying to remove all residual apple files from my computer in order to fully reinstall iTunes. My devices are not being recognized by iTunes currently. I keep finding an Apple file under C/: Program files/ common files/ ......Apple.. under that there is an Internet Services file folder.. I am the administrator and yet it says I need permission to remove these files.
    Please advise.

    After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    And that did the trick.

    This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

    i have a friend who has an ipod touch....everything had been going fine for him and then all of a sudden it was not being recognized any more....what caused this? he did say that he had done an update but i'm not sure what version he has....could this possibly be the problem.....does anyone an a fix for this?

    I think Apple is having a problem at the moment, my Ipod touch was always fine syncing until the new update! (Even on older itunes version, I could'nt sync since new update came out) It just isnt recognizing the device...
    Ive done all that Apple says to do, none of which helps at all, I reckon its thier own side of the problem they need to fix...

    After scouring the web and these discussion forums to no avail, I've decided to post my problem. I downloaded iTunes 8.0 yesterday, and updated the firmware on my iPod Touch to 1.1.5. I tried connecting my iPod, and nothing happened. It is not being recognized by my MacBook. So, I tried using another USB iPod connector, and nothing happened. I tried using a firewire connector, and nothing happened. Frustrated, I tried connecting to my one roommate's HP laptop and see if it would get recognized there - no. I then tried on my other roommate's laptop. The device was recognized to be USB, but iTunes wouldn't go ahead and try and reformat it. I'm starting to lose my mind! I've tried resetting the iPod touch itself loads of times to no success. I've tried restarting while having the iPod connected to the computer, and still nothing.
    What should I do now?

    Does the iPod work OK?
    Have you tied resetting the iPod? Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes.  If iTunes does not see the iPod then the iPod is not usable. For recovery mode:

    Solved the problem. I had to allow cookies for safari and it run - as here: Re: itunes keeps asking for my apple id password. it's NOT entered incorrectly.

    - I would try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then see if iTunes will see the iPod.  try both with the iPod not connected to the computer and with it connect. For recovery mode see:

    I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
    It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

    Many people are reporting problems with connecting there fifth-gen iPods after the update to iTunes 9. I had the same problem, and when I downgraded to iTunes 8, everything worked again.
    I tried cables, resetting, and all the other steps. My solution turned out to be iTunes 9 itself.
    My problem came from using a replacement hard drive-an adapter that allows me to retrofit my iPod with a Compact Flash card instead of a hard drive.
    The problem is NOT the adapter. This system functioned perfectly until iTunes 9, and when I switched back to iTunes 8, it worked again.
    Summary: I have a modded iPod, and it consistently works with iTunes 8, but not iTunes 9.
    Reason: Apple is sooooooooooo afraid a Palm Pre user will be able to use iTunes that they are breaking the sync code on purpose.
    Downgrading iTunes:
    1. find the download of iTunes 8 for your OS. (not posting links, as they may change)
    2. go into your iTunes 9, and export EVERY playlist to a text file. This is the only way to preserve your playlists.
    3. Uninstall iTunes 9 from you computer, install iTunes 8.
    4. Configure iTunes 8 to use your music folder (especially if you moved your music to a different location other than the default)
    5. Add your music to iTunes-this may take awhile.
    6. Import you text files and your playlists will return.
    7. Backup your iTunes 8 library files.
    Happily enjoy your modded iPod. Mac Users: Don't accidentally install iTunes 9 from an Apple Update.
