Itunes in the cloud movies (austrian store)

hy!
1) i am using the austrian itunes store and i am still waiting that movies in itunes can be streamed directly from the cloud! i heard that it is already working in the us when is it working also in other stores!
2) the new apple tv is also supporting HD (1080) movies, there is no single HD (1080) movie in the austrian itunes store, when is apple thinking of starting selling HD (1080) movies in the austrian itunes store?
thanks for your comments!

I'm in the US and I am having the same problem. I get an error 2 times, and then everything appears to work normally. Then I try to do anything, and the same error pops up and says to retry. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, still not working.

  • Ever since the last iTunes update, my cloud movies and TV purchases all vanished from my iTunes library.

Ever since the last iTunes update, my cloud movies and TV purchases all vanished from my iTunes library.  I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, but Show Cloud Purchases isn't there.  So, I go to the store, then click on purchases, and I download anything from my iTunes account.  Now, I go to Settings>Store>Show Cloud Purchases, and it is back.  I check the box, and my cloud purchases are again back in iTunes.
OK, I wouldn't bother posting this, but a day or so later, it all happens again.  Cloud purchases gone, no option to fix in the Settings>Store menu until I go to the store and download something again.
How do I get iTunes for Windows to keep showing my cloud purchases without having to do this silly work-around every day or two?

Audiobooks are not avaiable for redownload from iTunes, though I suspect you may find they are still on your computer even if not currently listed in your library. This may help...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

Do you have a question ? Not all content is available for re-downloading e.g. if the content provider (or Apple) removes them from the store, and there are also some film studios (in countries where film re-downlaoding is possible) who haven't agreed to allow their films to be re-downloaded.
    Otherwise, re-downloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

Are you sure you bought and not rented them?  Renting lets you to access the video for up to 48 hours.

  • Why won't movies save to iTunes in the Cloud any more?

    Hey-
So I was browsing iTunes for movies, and each and every single one says that by downloading it, it won't be saved in iTunes in the Cloud.
    WHY?
And does this mean that you can only put the movie on one device?

I was wondering this as well.  It seems as though, all of a sudden this morning, there aren't ANY movies available in the cloud right now.  Whereas a couple days ago, pretty much EVERY movie was available in the cloud.  I'm so confused!

  • HT201272 Cannot locate itunes preferences to to follow the steps. 2.Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes Preferences under the Store tab.

Can you assist me with downloading my past purchases on my new computer?

just as a follow-up i found a thread indicating mismatched AppleIDs could be a problem, so I changed the iCloud id to match, and that did allow me to get Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases and get the SD version.
Unfortunately, this hasn't solved the ultimate problem of getting the movie to sync to and play on a 1st gen Apple TV.

Connect your device, select it in the left-hand column, then change the settings on the various tabs to sync the media content your library to the device. Anything already on it may be removed. If that would be a problem see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Can I trust iTunes in the Cloud to retain past purchases?

I've been using iTunes for several years now to download and watch television episodes, since long before the advent of iTunes in the Cloud, with its ability to re-download previously purchased music, television, and (most recently) movies. Prior to the advent of this service the iTunes user was solely responsible for retaining backups of purchases, although an additional download might be granted in case of catastrophe.
With this in mind, and as my collection quickly expanded beyond the threshold where I could reasonably back it up to optical media, I purchased a two-terabyte Network Attached Storage drive, configured in a RAID array for added redundancy. Unfortunately, my iTunes media library is now approaching one terabyte in size by itself, and along with the many other things that I store on the drive is beginning to approach the drive's capacity.
So, the iTunes in the Cloud thing sounds awesome, but I'd like to know more about the troubling caveat that 'previous purchases may be unavailable if they are no longer on the iTunes Store' before I jettison the bulk of my local media collection. I'm aware of, and can deal with, the reality that contractual obligations and other things may force the withdrawal of legacy iOS applications (Glyder 1/2, the Fighting Fantasy series, Zumocast), but am less able to suffer the unexpected loss of television series content that may represent hundreds of dollars of purchases.
Other media outlets like HBO Go and Netflix Instant Watch note if and when certain content may become unavailable in the future. Does iTunes have anything similar, or am I essentially flying blind if I choose to delete my media?

I would not delete the media unless you don't want it.
Even subtle changes to content listings can render thinsg unavailable.
I have several Music Videos I have never been able to upgrade to itunes Plus - they still seem to be in the store with identical running times, but itunes support claim they are somehow different and need to be purchased again - no chance.
I bought nearly 2 seasons of a Disney kids show - those sesons are no longer in the store as they've split each season into volumes (season 1 = volumes 1 and 2, season 2 = volumes 3 and 4).
For the sake of the cost of external storage these days I think it's well worth the hassle of keeping backups.
You could argue however that if 95% of stuff remains redownloadable is the cost of the 5% offset by the hassle/cost of keeping backups even if it 'changed' and had to be repurchased.
The trouble is we just don't know if it'll be 99%/1%, 95%/5%, 50%/50% in the future even if it looks favourable now. Movies frequently seem to flip from rental only to purchase only here in UK, not sure about elsewhere.

to see what it looks like and if it really got matched there.
iTunes Match ($24.99) has not been released yet. The only songs currently available are songs you have already purchased through iTunes.
When iTunes Match is available, you will view your library though iTunes on the computer or the iDevice, just as you do now.
In iTunes on the computer, select the iTunes store.
Click on Purchased on the right side, under Quick links.
This will show you (only) what you have purchased and allow you to redownload these items.
    On your iDevice, open iTunes.
Select Purchased across the bottom to see purchased music and allow your to redownload them.
Open the App store and select Purchased across the bottom to see purchases apps and allow you to redownload them.

  • When "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" is selected in "Preferences" it causes my itunes to crash. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Ok,
This started happening a couple days ago. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing. I also disabled my firewall and antivirus to make sure nothing was blocking that connection. I read, in this community, that you could open itunes in safe-mode and turn off the "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" selection in the preferences menu. This stopped my itunes from crashing upon opening but I no longer have access to my movies in the cloud. If I select that option, as soon as it tries to connect, itunes crashes. Is there a fix?

Try iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not in My Library.
    Also:
Try Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Cache.
Try signing out of the store and then back in again.
See if you are able to re-engage the "Show iTunes in the cloud purchases" option.

I signed out of iTunes, closed it and then opened and signed back in.  Then turned on iTunes Match and the option to Show Purchases in the Cloud returned to my Preferences>Store window.  Funky little glitch... It seems to be working now.

  • Itunes in the cloud, limits?

Right now I have my music seperated into two sections, "Music" (the default one where your entire library is) and "Ipod" which is where all the music I currently listne to is, I want to delete all the songs that I don't want anymore off of Music, but don't want to lose them forever in case I want to listen to them again (I did pay for them after all ) I understand that this is where itunes cloud comes in, I can delete all my songs off of music except for the ones in my ipod playlist and then delete the ipod playlist, my only question is what are the limits for itunes cloud? Is it 5gb? 10gb? unlimited?

iTunes in the Cloud gives you access to most of your previous store purchases. It is free and unlimited, but certain content is excluded, audiobooks, iTunes LPs & Extras, ringtone, selected movies, etc. and any content currently available could be withdrawn at a future date without notice.
iTunes Match is an annual subscription service whereby your non-iTunes store music purchases get matched with current store content or uplodaded to Apple's servers so they can be downloaded to any of your authorised computers or devices on demand.
Neither is really an alternative to maintaining your own library and a backup of it, but iTunes Match would, at a push, allow you to restore most of your media if your current hard drive failed.
See iTunes in the Cloud for more information.

  • Problem with iTunes in the cloud

    Hi,
I can't download previously bought music in iTunes. There's only possibility to redownload apps and books.
Few days ago I could do this, now the option is gone. I can't turn it on in iTunes on my computer.
On iPhone-->Settings--->Store--->Automatic downloads--> I can choose only Apps and books, no music option to turn on.
And there's no icon Purchased in iTunes on iPhone.
iTunes in the cloud is working in my country with music, I was using it.
    Can anyone help? Thanks.

It could be a temorary glitch. We had something similar in the UK week or two ago. Wait it out or Contact Support.
