ITunes indicates updates available but none listed

iTunes indicates there are new updates available (currently lists 5) but when I click on the bottom right icon, I am then told there are no apps to download. Why does it indicate there are apps to download ? and how do I fix ?
I can successfully download updates when they are available (i.e. greater than the current 5 listed).
Thanks for your assistance in advance.

I was having same problem a while before but I figured it out that there are some Apps which is not passing actual update values from server to download list, first you need to know how its all works, every time you will download Apps your account will be marked that you have purchased/downloaded an App, when update is available its will send message to everyone how has that App to download update, but some Apps will not update directly or some other problem.
I have National Geographic magazine which cannot be updated directly so turned my Apps store using 3G and it tells me that which Apps has update available I downloaded these indirectly and update mark vanish from my iTunes.
Turn on WiFi or 3G and open your account from iPad and check updates.

  • IPads (3) show updates available but none show up in the screen

all of my iPhone (2) have the updates, my iPads (3) show updates available but none show up in the screen.  I've restored all of them even going so far as to remove them from iCloud for iTunes and then putting them back on.

IT's a glitch on Apple's server. You can either wait it out or if you want to update your apps, go to the App store and the purchased tab and scroll through your apps. The ones with updates will have banners on them and you can update them that way.

  • ITunes Says Updates Available When None Seem to Be

I have looked through a number of threads on this, and none seem to apply to me.
For the last couple of months, iTunes always shows 2 Updates Available after I have finished updating Apps. I have used 2 accounts (1 mindspring, 1 MobileMe) for Apps, and have logged into both (for MobileMe, I tried both mac.com and me.com), but after clicking on Update, iTunes says there are no Updates Available. I have also made sure I synced with all my devices. I have been able to update Apps from both accounts recently. I also went back and checked my Receipts from iTunes just to make sure I have never used a THIRD account!
The other strange behavior is that when I sign in, I get strange responses on the "My App Updates" page:
sign in as Me.com, it says *@Me.com has no updates currently available
sign in as Mac.com, it says *@Me.com has no updates currently available
sign in as Mindspring.com, it says *@Mac.com has no updates currently available
(actually, that might not be so strange, as it appears to be the email address associated with it. Oh well, I will leave that point in just for info).
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well, in case anyone is still watching this, I finally figured it out. I had let a friend connect her iPad to my computer and somehow it synced her apps up. Since I wasn't trying to login as her, I never saw any accounts that had the 2 available updates.

  • Itunes indicates update necessary but won't

i have an iphone 4.  i plugged it into my mac to sync with itunes.  sync worked fine.  but, on the itunes home page for my phone it indicates that there is a newer version of software for my iphone.  i know this because it's been a while since i synced it.  but, when i click the update button, itunes says that my itunes software is up to date.  i know my itunes software is up to date and its the phone version update that i'm trying to perform but it keeps refusing to allow the phone update to occur because it says that itunes is up to date.  thanks in advance!!!

If you're running 10.4.11 as your profile indicates, you've probably hit a wall on how far you can go. You'll need to upgrade to at least 10.5.8.

  • Apps menu shows 5 updates available, but when I go to download them it says none are available

apps menu shows 5 updates available, but when I go to download them it says none are available.  How do I remove that number?

Get some apps from someone else, perhaps? You can check by doing a "Get Info" on your apps; that will show the account under which they were purchased.
Oh, and just to clarify so I'm not barking up the wrong tree, what exactly is iTunes saying? Is it showing the number in the icon indicating that there are five apps to be updated but showing the screen that says "No updates are currently available"? Or is it giving an error message somethign like "the item you requested is not available in the iTunes Store"?

  • Purchased tab shows 1 update available but can't update it.

Purchased tab shows 1 update available, but I can't find what book. I keep getting popup that it can't download the update. Why did the updates tab disappear in ios8?
FIrst it showed 2 updates, but I kept getting a popup that it couldn't download the update. So I had to search in my list of books which books had updates. I just deleted all the books that had an update message. It kept showing 2 updates available, until I deleted every book I could find that had an update. But now it keeps showing a 1, and I can't find the corresponding book, and I keep getting a popup that it can't download it, even when ibooks is closed.
WHy did they delete the updates tab?

What is the exact message you're getting?  I guarantee it's not "the iPhone needs iTunes".

  • Sidebar show 19 App Updates Available, but cannot download

I have had my Ipod 16GB touch for 2 years. I recently downloaded some new apps and sync'ed my Ipod and went on vacation. Once on the plane, I noticed that none of my new Apps were on the Ipod and many of my old apps were gone from the Ipod. When I got back home, I went to sign in to Itunes, and my account had been deleted. I couldn't recover my password or anything as it said my user ID did not exist. I re-entered all the information, and I can now download new stuff, but in the sidebar, it says there are 19 updates available, but when I drill in, it says there are no updates available. When I click on "Cathy's Ipod" and go to the applications tab, there are many Apps not click for syncing, when I try to click them and re-sync, it briefly pops up that it is syncing the App, but does not complete, and when the total sync is complete, the box goes unchecked again. I am at a loss here. I am afraid to reformat the Ipod as I had to create my account again and afraid I will lose all my Apps I have paid for.

I DID do a password change a little while back, but I would not think that should create a problem.
That's most likely your problem, as apps are DRM protected & tied to the account that was originally used to purchase them for all updates or to re-download them should that need ever arise. Contact itunes support to straighten this out:

  • Remote Desktop Client Update 3.8.2 v.11 remains in Software Update queue but, is listed (several times) under "Updates Installed in Last 30 Days.

Remote Desktop Client Update 3.8.2 v.11 remains in Software Update queue but, is listed (several times) under "Updates Installed in Last 30 Days". This is also the case with HP Printer Software update 3.0 and Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.03. Clicking the "update" button for these doesn't appear to install the software, but lists it in the "Updates Installed in Last 30 Days" without removing it from the Software Update queue.

Thank you. I tried that and even gave it a few days to do its thing, but I still get the same results. Remote Desktop, HP Printer, Digital Camera all still appear in "Available Updates", but the same versions appear under "Updates Installed in the Last 30 Days". BTW, I had to manually install the Safari 8.0.4 update because it also wasn't updating.

  • I keep getting notified I have an update available but when I try to update I get the following msg ,"You have updates available for other accounts". I only have one account with apple and purchased the software when I got my macbook in Aug 2012.

I keep getting notified I have an update available but when I try to update I get the following msg ,"You have updates available for other accounts To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.". I only have one account with apple and the software was preinstalled when I purchased my macbook in Aug 2012 with that account. Has anyone had this problem or know how to find out what account apple needs?

You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update

  • App Store icon shows updates available, but all apps up to date

Just bought Iphone 5c, second day, App store icon shows updates available, but PC, store and other Iphones show none.  Tried resetting, updates to ios 8.02, synching, going through each app individually to see if there is an update, no luck.
Wnen I reset, the icon shows a badge with 7 updates available.  I opened App Store, bottom right (update icon) showed the same.  Tapped it, the update screen appears (as normal), and the 7 on the update icon disappeared, screen says UPDATES All apps are up to date.  However, on the home screen, the App store badge still shows 7 updates.
Anyone else having the same prob?  What is the fix?

Tried that, tries a soft reset, and a hard reset, no luck.  Funny thing is, my other iphones and IPad work fine, its just the Iphone 5.

  • In manage add-ons, Adobe Flash Player is listed under Not Available, but is listed as enabled.

When trying to view something that needs flash player, it tells me that I need to have flash player to do this.  So I go to install it, and it tells me it is already installed with my Windows 8.  So, then it tells me to either Enable flash player or to disable Active x filtering.  Active x filtering is not enabled, so I go to Manage add ons, and it shows that Shockwave Flash Object is listed under the heading NOT AVAILABLE, but is listed as being enabled.  I have tried to reinstall flash player, but it won't let me because it is already installed.  Not sure why it is showing up under Not Available, and not under the Adobe heading with my Adobe PDF reader.  Can anyone tell me how to get flash player back from this point???

Please ask your question on a forum for the Flash Player

  • I received a notice that there is an update for my Lightroom 5. I have the non-creative cloud version. Is the update available for non-cloud users? It says to download click the link and it takes me to Cloud free trial screen.

It is the same installer. You can run it as 30-days trial (CC version) and decide later for CC or stand-alone. To license as stand-alone, follow this guide.
If you already have the LR6 license key, you can enter it during setup and do not need to follow the guide.

    Try this:
    1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
    2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

To my knowledge the apple ID you registered your new mac to received all the included apps.  Try using that apple ID and see if it works.
