Itunes.ini not found

please, i have this problem.
i can't install itunes because during the installation, after the installation of quicktime, the process stops with the message: "impossible to found the folder itunes. ini"
i tried to unistall itunes from windows but itunes isn't in the list of installed programs
how can i do?

Hi, Im not a pro but ill try to assist you.
Once you open itunes you may need to try the menu item "edit" then the sub menu "prefrences". A window will open up with tabs at the top, single click the tab that is named "ADVANCED" under that there should be a place to enter the folder where you [or should I say itunes] keeps your music files. This bit of info should never change on it's own so i cant imagen how your problem happened but MYABE if you are able to tell itunes where your files are located that MIGHT fix it! be sure to remember exactly what is currently entered there before you change it so you can put it back if i'm wrong about this!
Please Note: I am still useing itunes 8.?? so the menus may be diffirent from yours and the standerd disclamer applies. as i said I am not an itunes pro but this just might work! good luck.

  • NB200 Setenv.ini not found; cannot boot

    Hi all
My NB200, second-hand and upgraded to Windows 7 had recently became very buggy therefore I decided that a fresh reinstall would be a good option. It soon turned out not to be, as, after pressing 0 and entering the recovery process, an error 'Setenv file P:\Setenv.ini or X:\tools\Setenv.ini not found' came up and every time I try to restart the PC this process repeats. I can enter the BIOS (V2.10) but I cannot seem to find a way to boot normally!
I don't believe that the Windows 7 OS has been completely wiped, as the process had barely begun after pressing 0 - but I cannot find or think of a way to return to where I was!
Hope you can help solve my problem

    Toshiba NB200-10G (PLL25E-00700GEN)
after pressing 0 and entering the recovery process, an error...
I'm sure the recovery partition was removed when Windows 7 was installed. I would start over with a fresh install of Windows 7. Looks like there are sufficient 32-bit Windows 7 drivers here . Be sure to stay away from 64-bit Windows. Install the Intel chipset software and display driver before anything else.
Also you must add 1 GB of memory to bring the total to 2 GB if that has not already been done. Windows 7 will not run properly in only 1 GB.
If you like, you can instead restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents (Windows XP) using Toshiba recovery discs. Obtain them from Toshiba here.
Toshiba Europe Backup Media Online Shop
I have attached the User's Manual for that model. It explains on p. 8-3 how to add memory and on p. 3-13 how to restore from recovery discs.
You will of course need an external optical disc drive connected to a USB port to install or restore Windows.

I'm running windows XP, trying to uppdate iTunes, instalations pack iTunes.msi not found. Is it posible to download this?
I have tried to seek for it on the computer but no.

I had the same problem and managed to fix it by doing the following :
First go to the control panel
    Choose Add/Remove programs
    Find iTunes in the list
Select "Change" and then, when it comes up with the option, "Repair"
I found that this fixed the problem for me and I was able to do the update without coming up with this error - hope it helps!

  • .ini not found error

When attempting to run my application, I continually get a ".ini" not found error.  I have built the application with both the LabVIEW ini file and with a custom ini file.  An issue that may be related is that the VIs were created using LabVIEW 5.1.  We have been unsuccessful in building the files since transitioning to LabVIEW 8.0.  Am I building the application incorrectly?  Where does the executable look for the .ini file?

    see whether this will help
muks, honestly, what the HECK does that article have to do with this issue???? You often post links to articles which have NO bearing on the question! This case is especially bad since the article relates to LabWindows! Please try to be a little more selective in your article selection so people are not sent on wild goose chases.
To poster:  An executable keeps its .ini file in the same folder as where it is located. The .ini file will have the same based name as the application.I don't understand what you mean by "not building the application correctly". If you can tell us what you are doing then we can tell you whether it's correct. Have you checked through the LabVIEW Help?

  • Error message "setenv.ini not found" during installation

I want to install the XP Pro version from cd but I get the error message "setenv.ini not found"

    Hello
Hmmm... there must be something wrong with recovery disc. What to do now?
You can try to contact your local dealer and see if they can help. Other way, contact nearest Toshiba authorized service provider. If they can confirm that recovery media is not OK they can order new one for you. For free I think.

  • ITunes:  "File not found"

I have been having a problem for quite some time with iTunes and I can't seem to get an answer as to how to resolve it. On many of my songs listed in the iTunes library, when I click on the song I get an error message to the effect of "File not found. Would you like iTunes to try to locate this file?", and when I say "yes" to this, I get my "iTunes Music" folder (where my music files are stored) and I have to search around and find the file (which I am usually able to do) and then it plays. However, when sometime later I may try to play the song again, I get the same error message and have to go through the same process. Can anyone explain why this may be happening and how I can prevent it from happening again? What is the simplest way to store your music files on your hard drive to ensure iTunes captures everything and does not have difficulty locating files? Many thanks for your help and advice!

This really shouldn't happen. There are no setting in iTunes to prevent it.
If you want to do a bit of detective work, you find out where iTunes this the missing file is located.
If you want to try this, identify a track or two with exclamation marks.
Open iTunes Library.xml with WORDPAD. (it's in the iTunes folder)
Use search to look for the track or album name. If you know the actual file name you can use that but watch out for spaces, the space character is represented by %20.
WHen you have found a track or album you need to scroll to the line starting:
    <key>Location</key>
This contains the path and file name.
Is it correct, or something different?
That might give you clue about files being moved or renamed.
If it is all correct them something odd is happening with iTunes.

I hvae tried everything from uninstalling/reinstall, to cleaning out the registery, to everything else. I would like to update my iPod with some new music and audio books, but unfortunately it's not working......
Any help would be awesome on how to get my iPod working again....Thanks

  • Error in trying to run iTunes.....iTunes folder not found

I have a Sony PC and recently had my drives partitioned into a single drive. For whatever reason, this has screwed my Itunes software. I have gone through 10+ uninstall and re-install.
I have now gotten to the point of being able to install the software, agreeing to the license agreement but then get the following error box..."The folder iTunes cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the My Music folder.' After clicking ok in the dialog box, nothing happens...no iTunes, no nothing.
I have no clue. I followed the Apple suport page fix and it has not worked.
I have all of the music files on the PC and they seem to be in order. But I am wits end regarding my ability to get iTunes started.

    hi Michael!
hmmm. here's a technique that we used to get some success with in the days prior to the KB doc showing up (scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the relevant post in the thread):

  • Itunes: Quicktime Not Found

Hi, my itunes started doing the quicktime not found thing about a week ago.
I've uninstalled itunes and quicktime multiple times, and have installed quicktime alternative and lite multiple times (with the plugin for itunes). they have worked temporarily, but the quicktime not found keeps coming back. Help?

Hello the following article below will assist with a more thorough cleaning of Apple Software.
The following Apple programs should be uninstalled in the order listed to reduce the amount of reboots needed. Keep in mind not all programs in the list below will be listed in your Add/Remove or Programs and Features list. So if you can not find the exact name or something similar then continue down the list.
If you have never uninstalled Apple software below by removing all the programs listed but always just removed iTunes and Quicktime. Try just the basic uninstall of what is listed. If it still does not work. Repeat the step and then check out link below.
    1. Uninstall the following Apple Software in the following order to help reduce reboots
    -Apple Mobile Device Support
    -Apple Software Update
    -Bonjour
-Windows iPod Updater (Name might be different but look for anything with the word iPod)
    -MobileME Control Panel
    -Quicktime
    -iTunes
    *Now reboot the computer
-If step above did not resolve. Repeat step above then follow article below

  • Registry settings used by Itunes drivers not found

I just installed the latest version of itunes after having an old version previously installed. Every time I run Itunes now I receive an error message. It says something about registry settings missing that are used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs. It suggests re installing itunes and uninstalling any other CD burning software. I have reinstalled itunes perhaps 6 times now and i have not installed any other CD burning software - ever - windows media player was always installed. I don't think WMP should be interferring though since it didn't before. I receive this error message everytime i run itunes. Also, this may be related, I cannot consolidate my library. Everytime i select the option nothing happens. itunes does not react whatsoever.

toonz here is what it says now, but like I said it is working fine now.

  • Songs that I have purchased are missing in iTunes (file not found/exclmation point), and do not show up in the iTunes Store for download.

I have a laptop that has (or had) pretty much all of my music, both burned from CDs and downloaded from iTunes. My 17 year old son on occasion syncs his iPhone and iPad with this laptop. As of the last sync (as best I can determine), many songs that I purchased in the past few years are now missing, in that they have an exclamation point to the left of the song title, and when I try to play the song, I get an error message that says "The song could not be used because the original file could not be found" or something to that effect. As it turns out, the file seems to be erased. This has happened multiple times, and I could be wrong, but I believe that there are some songs that had the exclmation point last time he synced that now don't, and vice-versa. There is not an obvious correlation or grouping as to why these songs are missing (e.g,. they were not all purchased on the same date, not all songs from one artist are missing, etc.).
Since most of these songs have been purchased through iTunes through my account, my reaction was to go to the iTunes store, log in with my account, and re-download them. Problem is, all of these songs instead ask me to purchase the song, instead of displaying a "cloud" logo. Therefore, it appears that I have to re-purchase these songs, which does not sound correct.
Questions: Does anyone know, most importantly (to get an immediate fix):
    1. How can I re-download these songs and why doesn't iTunes Store recognize that I have already purchased them?
and perhaps as important (more of a long-term question):
    2. Why does this happen and how can I prevent this from happening again (since it has happened multiple times)?
    Thanks.

    1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
    2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

  • Cannot delete itunes .msi not found and cannot install new one! please help

Please help me awhile ago i tried deleting then reinstalling th new version of itunes / quick time and after going through most of the installation process this comes up:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Jordan\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\
    I made a picture of it here:http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa233/djjordie/cannotfindmsi.jpg
Then i tried uninstalling it (somehow it says its installed in add or remove programs) and the same message came up.
After ages of trying to figure it out and deleting heaps of things, when trying to install now it says:
1.run or cancel (thats not the problem) i click run picture here:http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa233/djjordie/cannotfindmsi.jpg
2.then it goes to this picture here:http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa233/djjordie/preparingtoinstall.jpg
    3. then straight to this picture here:http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa233/djjordie/preparingtoinstall.jpg
without the the rest of the installation process...
SO i need to be able to delete it complety (the problem there is the .msi not being found).
Then install itunes / quick time without the .msi problem or the skipping of the installation process with it saying errors occurred ect...
Please help it would be much appreciated!

WHen you get trouble with msi files you usually need the Microsoft Installer cleanup utility.
Here is a method for removal of iTunes and related programs with clean up and reinstall.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
(To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install)
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • ITune songs not found after migrating to new iMac

My old iMac's graphics card broke. Luckily I have used Time Machine to back up to ann external HDD.
I used Migration Assistant to bring up the new iMac. However, I cannot find any songs in iTune. The songs can still be found in my iPhone though.
I also found that Time Machine has set up a new folder in the external HDD, so while the old backup files are still there, I cannot access it when I tried to restore it.
    Need help.
Since this is a new, clean installation, I don't mind reinstalling the OS X, which I have done, if it helps.

    There is no Music folder.
Perhaps I should try to start from a clean slate again. Do you think it will make sense to wipe out all the data and re-install OSX, re-migrate? There will not be any lost data (compared to what I have now..)
When I re-installed OSX, I had to state a name. I chose the name on the previous computer, which led to a conflict when I tried to migrate. I had to choose another name for the new iMac. Could this have led to the inability to restore properly? (am I making sense?)
