Itunes Install 10.6 error 126, 7

I have a win7 64bit OS. I have repeatedly tried to install itunes and get errors. I have completely unstalled all apple programs per the instructions several times, and get error 126 error 7 "itunes did not install properly, reinstall." It ocassionally says that ituneshelper is missing, other times not. Reinstallation does not work. I have purged all apple programs and then restarted the process. I have run SFC, no errors found. I have run microsoft's install error program, no jo y. Other random dlls come up missing -- avfoundationcf.dll, sometimes. Any ideas?

When I am installing appears this error
When the installation finishes, I open the program and appears ...

  • I did the upgrade to my iTunes yesterday and it did not install correctly. Kept getting same message.  Now cannot download any iTunes without getting windows error 126. Please help.

Upgraded my itunes yesterday and it failed.  Tried reinstalling and failed again.  Now tried to install several earlier versions and coming up with  windows error 126. Do you have any ideas on how I can fix this?  Please help.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Itunes did not install correctly. windows error 126

After being prompted to update to the latest version of iTunes, I did so. After the download I was given the following message: itunes did not install correctly error 7 windows error 126 - please attempt to re-install. I have attempted uninstall and deleting the software followed by new download and re-install. Same results each time. Please suggest a fix for this issue. Thank you.

After installing new itunes upgrade on Windows Vista PC, itunes does not open. Getting error boxes identfiying Windows error 126 (error 7) plus; MSVCR80.dll not found.
    Anyone have casue and resolution?
Apple support did not have file or process available to backoff to previous itunes version v11.1.3 to allow recovery so itunes could continue use with no problems as before this new upgrade.

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP

  • I cannot open itunes due to an error 126. I have never backed up my music and do not want to lose anything if I uninstall and then install again. How can I be sure my music is safe?

I cannot open itunes due to an error126. I have never backed up my music library and am worried I will lose it all if I uninstall and then install itunes. Any suggestions??

Back it up. While uninstalling and reinstalling it doesn't normally affect the library, other things, such as drive failures, can.

  • ITunes install problems -- no error messages

I believe my problem is unique, but if this has been brought up before, I apologize. Anyway, down to business:
A friend just bought an iPod nano and had problems installing iTunes, so I volunteered to help. Here's what happens:
    1) I run the iTunes installer
    2) the installer appears to be doing fine, I can even see the iTunes desktop shortcut appear
    3) right before it should tell me "installation successful," the installer just disappears. The icon that was on the desktop a second ago is gone, and there is no trace of any iTunes files on the system. Here's the fun part: There are no error messages.
    Also important:
The same thing happens with the iPod software updater installer.
The same things happen whether I am using the CD that came with the nano, or if I'm using freshly downloaded installers from Apple's website.
I am myself a Mac user, and am pretty clueless as to the common tips and tricks of windows, so please don't assume I know things. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ross

Alright, turning off the virus protection didn't do it.
Next on the list of things to try is:
    1. Locate the original Windows XP Home Edition CD that came with your PC or the upgrade disc used to install Windows XP Home Edition.
    2. Insert the disc into your PC and use it to begin reinstalling Windows
    3. During installation, your computer will restart or you will be prompted to do so in order to continue.
    4. After the computer restarts you'll see a dialog asking if you want to install Windows. Select the option to install Windows. A repair option will be presented.
    5. Choose the option to repair an installation of Windows
    6. After the repair is completed, your PC should restart.
    7. Attempt to reinstall iTunes.
I poked at this a little bit, but after I got into the repair option, all I had was a blank command prompt, and that scares me.
Does anybody have more advice on how I can repair this installation of XP?
    Thanks,
    Ross

  • Error7 (Windows error 126) After Installing iTunes

I got the following error message when unsuccessfully trying to open iTunes:
“The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.”
So following directions I uninstalled iTunes, downloaded the latest iTunes from the iTunes site and attempted to reinstall.  However, it would not reinstall and gave the following error message:
“Service ‘Apple Mobile Device’ (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.”
After I clicked ignore a dialog box came up saying iTunes had been successfully installed.  Underneath it was another dialog box with a big X in red  which said:
“iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error7 (Windows error 126)
Please let me know what to do.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Please help. I have been using itunes with my ipod nano for years. Several months ago I did a requested upgrade and have not been able to open itunes since. Error 7 (Windows error 126) I have tried to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall itunes several times and it doesn't work. I keep getting the same message. • When opening iTunes I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled, reinstalled many times - nothing! help please.

When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been  unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.

  • Cannot install itunes. get error message program RSVCR80 not installed. windows error 126.

cannot update or install itunes. ger error message RSVCR80 not installed. windows error 126.

    Hey sndlot,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

  • Update to 10.7 did not work, cannot access iTunes. Need AVFoundationCF.dll, Ituneshelper not installed correctly, Error 7 (Windows Error 126), Error 7 (Windows Error 5)

    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
This HORROR  began because I realized that my phone had suddenly lost all of the music except music that had been purchased. It also lost all purchased iBooks as well as audible books downloaded from audible and ringtones that I had purchased from iTunes.
I then thought that it would be fine once I connected to itunes on my computer. I connected to itunes and it said that there was an update available so I downloaded and installed 10.7.
I tried to run the program and got Error 7 (Windows error 5) message.
I then found several discussion questions that seemed similar to mine and I think that I tried them all. Removed everything apple and reinstalled iTunes. I followed the instructions and removed everything in the order that was listed, some I had to change security to own the file before I could delete them. I did all of the steps, (maybe I deleted too many apples items ??) emptied the recycling bin, restarted and reinstalled.  I also tried the Net framework fix, used the ms fixit (the one with the picture of the man on it) and I think a few other things that I have found on this site as well as MS site. I restarted my computer every time.
The latest thing that I tried was to download 10.63 since I don't care about the new stuff.  After all of this I sometimes get and message saying that I am missing AVFoundationCF.dll file and once it said something about Itunes Helper (when these two messages appear, it is separate from the error messages which occur after clicking ok on them)  before getting the Error 7 (windows error 5) or else Error 7 (Windows error 126).
    PLEASE HELP!

Follow the instructions on this link, basically un-install everything, remove programs that says they are made by apple inc. (using add remove program)
    http://www.reimageplus.com/fix-windows-127-error/   (Many thanks to reimageplus.com)
You will also need to check and verify that the following folders have been removed:
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
    C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
dont forget to remove icloud also
you dont need to delete your itune music library though
If any of these folders still exist, delete them along with their contents. (if you cant delete them, right click and go to properties and then security and change the control of the fold to you)
do this for files under  program files and program file (x86) on your computer
once you have deleted everything, restart your computer. Then I repaired my registry using a registry repair program.
Important:-  instead of installing itunes I installed quick time, which installs apple application support (this is the corrupt file which is causing all the issues)
i then installed itunes and it all worked fine,
should take no longer than half hour to fix
    hope this helps
