I have tried downloading and installing quicktime sepreatly. nothing seems to be working. maybe there is someone out there that has encountered this problem and fixed it. any help will be greatly appreciated.

ok so now going through this i found what i'm asuming is an older version of quicktime. i try to uninstall it and it will not let me i get a message that a fatal error has occured during instalation. so i'm not quite sure what the next step would be.
How were you trying to uninstall it when you saw this message?
Did you see the message when following the steps under *Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer,* which would have you use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft?
If not, try downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and removing the installer files.

Trying to install iTunes on Windows 8.1.  Apple Application Support was not found.  Error 2.  Uniinstall iTunes and try again, does not work.  Is there a fix?

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • The current iTunes 10.5 upgrade does not install on Windows 7 and indicates a faulty install package (error 2324). Advice or details on the release date for a proper fix?

The current iTunes 10.5 upgrade does not install on Windows 7 and indicates a faulty install package (error 2324). Advice or details on the release date for a proper fix? I'm not able to roll back to the prior version, so I'm stuck in limbo.

There have been a number of problems with installing the latest iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit machines during the last couple of weeks.  You might want to do a search on that topic and see if anyone has a solution.  There have been various versions of the problem but a lot related to errors in the download package or failure to download.

  • After installing Mavericks iTunes 11.1.3 does not find my recent iTunes Library. Where did my current library go?

After installing Mavericks iTunes 11.1.3 does not find my recent iTunes Library. Where did my current library go? The new iTunes opens a 2009 library on start up. My most recent library is ignored even when I go to it directly and start iTunes with it. In another thread someone suggested repairing permissions, I did that and it did not help. I ripped my entire CD collection over the summer (1000's of songs) and now they just don't exist...or I can't find them. They were there before I upgraded to Mavericks the other day. Now vanished. I have found no other issues with Mavericks (yet). Played the music last week; upgraded, now can't find my complete current library. If anyone has a clue as to what might be causing this I sure would like know. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi, sorry to hear you had this problem. Sometimes after updating iTunes the library appears blank because a new library (.itl) file has been created. Anyone else experiencing this issue may be able to resolve by following the steps outlined in TS1967. There is ofter a 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder in the iTunes folder, by quitting iTunes entirely and replacing the currently named iTunes Library.itl file with the library file named by date in the Previous Libraries folder (should look something like 'iTunes Library 2011-08-03') and renaming to 'iTunes library.itl' and relaunching you should find the library looks the same as it did before updating (metadata intact).

  • Itunes or Quicktime does not open !!!

Ok I frist tried to upgrade my previous Itunes 6 to Itunes 7.0.1
Then after downloading and everything I try opening Itunes
Next I get the Lisciencing Page (agree-decline)
    After that nothing happens ...
Itunes would just have its arrow pointing at it ... and I would have to force quit
Then I read I needed a higher version of Quicktime - So I beleive that the problem is the Quicktime ....
    Download QT 7
From here the Quicktime does not even open anymore ....
Mess with a couple things install reinstall ... take the itunes recipt out of the library ad such but still does not work
So I decide to straight re install my Mac OS from the ground up ....
    Back Up everything
Install everything ... download itunes 7.0.1 quicktime 7
    It works ...
From here i decided to drop my music i saved on an external hard drive ...
Now whenever I try to open Itunes ... Itunes does the same thing from where I tried to fix ...
It Doesnt open just sits on the dock .... forcing to quit again ...
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHATS WRONG ...

What system software does your computer have?
Your info says 10.0.x, but that can't be true if you previously ran iTunes 6.
If you did an Erase and Install or an Archive and Install, you should not have problems when you're at least running OS X 10.3.9.
You may read Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4: Some Apple applications don't open to see if it applies to your situation.

  • Quicktime does not allow to change video position from streamed video

I just wanted to watch the newest Apple event stream. For many ears I have watched them typically from Mac as they works from there perfectly.
Now I installed quicktime for Windows (without iTunes) and I watched 34 minutes from the event. Then suddenly the sound went off from the quicktime. I tought the system sound went and I checked the volume and other player and they worked fine.
Then I tought it was about streaming problem and I allowed it to continue to 39 minutes. Then I tought I could scroll backward to position where the sound went off. But I couldn't at all. I can drag the position slider somewhere, but it always jump back to the place where it is streaming. When I stop mouse, it jumps back to current position. So if I keep mouse cursor moving and dragging same time the slider, it moves.
Neither I can not start a video (any video, was they a trailers or Apple event videos) and jump to the known position to continue watching.
So to me if I would now like to watch the latest presentation, I should watch first 40 minutes again. As I am not allowed to rewind to wanted position.
I tried this on my laptop as well and I got exactly the same problem (the scrolling).
Is it really so that Windows Quicktime does not allow rewind/forward functions at all on quicktime videos?
Is there tweaks to get that possibility as I do not want to watch 40 minutes and be sharp when it comes so I can continue where I left and not miss the position and never could rewind back?

QuickTime Pro does not allow to make video capture from desktop - only from camera. How can i solve this problem?
Use the QT X.1 Player to capture desktop video. QT 7 Pro does not  and never has had this feature which was first introduced in the QT X.0 Player.

  • Trying to update my Itunes software, now it does not want to work at all, givin strange error messages.

Trying to update my Itunes software, now it does not want to work at all, givin strange error messages.
First, when trying to sync ipod touch to Itunes, nothing happened. After that, Itunes suggested downloading and installing updates but now updates will not finish installation correctly and launch error messages. Any ideas?
    TKS !

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736B3s, or a different error code? If they're different, what codes are you getting in Windows Update?

  • ITunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows - Fix??

    Hi everyone,
I had issue after issue with the latest iTunes update (12.1.1) not working on my windows 7. It simply would not lunch when clicking on the shortcut to open.
After a fair bit of searching I found this alternative version which seemed to do the trick and now it works:
    iTunes 12.1.1.4 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - iTunes64Setup.exe(2015-02-18)

The "for older video cards" installer - which, like most prior "64 bit" versions of iTunes, is actually a 32 bit application with a 64 bit installer - may be a useful fallback if the full 64 bit version does not install or run correctly.  Although 12.1.1.4 is a major improvement over 12.1.0.71, there are clearly still some lurking incompatibilities with some 64 bit Windows systems/components.  It is, however, a little misleading to say that "iTunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows" - in many cases it works fine without switching to the alternative version.  I have the full 64-bit version of 12.1.1.4 running on three systems - two Windows 7 and one Windows 8.1 - no issues with either installation or operation on any of them.

  • Audio recording on a flash. recommended to download vlc media player did this. tried to play messages says quicktime does not recognise this format. what to do pleaser

RECIEVED AN AUDIO RECORDING ON A FLASH. PLUGGED IT IN. DOWNLOADED VLC MEDIA PLAYER AS RECOMMEMDED. TRIED TO PLAY.
MESSAGE RECEIVED SAYING QUICKTIME DOES NOT RECOGNISE THIS FORMAT. WHAT TO DO PLEASE.

You could add Perian.  It may help (...or not).
Wait, you received and audio recording and you are trying to use a video player (vlc) to play it?  What kind of file is it?  Does it have a filename extension?  If it is .wmv then you might want to install Flip4Mac.  Then you could play it with QuickTime.

This packages(*libgcc-3.4.6* or gcc-3.4.6) is installed on your zone? You will need to install either libgcc-3.4.6 or gcc-3.4.6 before install SMCgmp.

  • I have downloaded latest itunes but my ipad does not show in devices when I try to sync.  Any suggestions?

I have just gotten my new ipad!!!  I downloaded latest version of itunes but my ipad does not show in devices when I try to sync music.  Any suggestions??

Does a little box come up seeing the iPad as a camera? That doesn't impact iTunes as much as it confirms that your computer sees the device. If your computer doesn't see it then iTunes doesn't know it's there.
If you're plugged into a hub or extender, try plugging it directly into the box or main part of your computer.
If you're using an extension, stop and just use the included sync cable.
Try using a different USB port.
After you installed iTunes, did you restart your computer?
Usually what's needed is the 'apple device driver' which installs automatically, you just need to sometimes trigger the install, using different ports helps with that.
If the simple trouble shooting doesn't help then you can search on the Apple Device Driver and there's more detailed trouble shooting on the site.

Sorry for this late answer. I had not to time hanging around on the pc. Thank you for your help.
    I solved the problem, lucky!
After deinstalling all Apple Software (except safari) I started the PC again and installed Itunes another time.
It worked, so I am happy, still not knowing what was the problem.
The best thing is, that my mediathek is still running (I hoped so, it was put on another harddrive.)
Updates should not stress that way...
    Thanks again for supporting,

    See:

    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
