Itunes install on win7 beta 64

Install iTunes64Setup on win7 64 crashed the os on restart. The OS "repaired" itself (and presumably itunes). Connecting to ipod classic and attempting to sync, by all variations of sync, caused itunes to hang. I am really don't need help on this. I am just testing win7 beta. This forum is the only way I found of sending feedback to apple.

  • Why did iTunes install to Win7 change all executables to iTunes executables

    ?
Icons have all become iTunes icons. Targets all read as they did before: firefox.exe, etc. But double-clicking opens iTunes in all cases.
    Ideas?
    Thanks ~

No real idea why this happened; but in case it's happened to anyone else, a solution was found here:

I didn't create it, and can't guarantee that it will be available at this URL in perpetuity. But it did work.

  • Installing and then uninstalling iTunes has slowed Win7 PC

I installed iTunes on my newish Win7 PC but had a problem with the PC being 'not authorized'.  Despite many many hours of reading Apple help and Googling I could not resolve the issue.  Decided to give up on iTunes and stay with Windows Media Player. Uninstalled iTunes and now my PC is running slower than before the iTunes install/uninstall.
Apple, I am not happy that your software has messed up my PC.

Thank you both. I suppose I should have prefaced my question with the concern that I've read a number of other posts from people who have had a similar issue and when they tried to follow the directions, they ran into a multitude of other problems. As you might imagine, I'm hoping to avoid the creation of new problems as I try to solve this one. Thanks again.

I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 with iTunes installed. Now my iPhone 4S is no longer recognized in iTunes. Connecting the iPhone with USB sends me directly to the MS app that downloads pictures from the iPhone. Suggest this is a question of missing Apple driver for Windows 8, iTunes and iPhone. MS does not care! This seems to be a general problem with Windows 8 that a number of drivers that used to work with Windows 7 now do not work, ie. iPhone to iTunes, HTC to HTCSync, Samsung to Kies etc. I need this connection to work in order to syncronize with Outlook and my iTunes library.

Maybe it would have been a better idea to confirm that iTunes is supported in Windows 8 before buying a computer with that Operating System.
There will be a new version of iTunes released this month... no one forced you to upgrade prior to a supported version of iTunes being released.

  • Apple Mobile Device Support uninstall and itunes install causes loss of internet connection

Whenever I uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS)  I lose my internet connection. The only way to fix this is to restore Windows to a previous state. I've tried  troubleshooting my internet connection when this happens but Windows tells me something is wrong with both my wired and wireless connection drivers... and of course I need the internet to fix said drivers :s
I've tried repairing AMDS and this doesn't help either.
I've been trying to download itunes but it tells me a program needed to install it cannot be run. After this I can't get back on the internet without first restoring windows to a previous state. I thought that uninstalling everything apple from my system would do the trick but I can't seem to uninstall AMDS without messing up my internet drivers. What else can I try?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Silent SQL Server 2008 Management Studio install on Win7

    Hi,
Is there a way to suppress Compatibility warning box while silently installing SQL Server 2008 Management Studio install on Win7?
    Thanks,
    H

    Hi Kugler,
Even I was facing the same issue. It is because you may pending reboots on the target machine.
I also used the cmdline as below:
    <PATH of EXE> /Q /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS /ACTION=install /FEATURES=SSMS,ADV_SSMS /HIDECONSOLE
Before installation it is better to restart the target machine and start with the installation.

There were two problems, one is, as other mentioned, the fact that Win7 doesn't support INF installation by right-clicking, this however, didn't explain the devcon dp_add installation problem described in the original post, the resolution was to add the
following to the INF file, while this is not required when installing on Win8, IT IS mandatory when installing @ Win7
    [USB_Install.Wdf]
    KmdfService=WINUSB, WinUsb_Install
    [WinUsb_Install]
    KmdfLibraryVersion=1.11
I have spent half a day on hunting this down, having better logging information would greatly reduce the time it takes to resolve such problems, for example, By adding the name of the expected/missing section to the message "The
required section was not found in the INF"

  • Latest iTunes app on Win7 won't run

Greetings!  A few days ago I installed the latest iTunes on my Win7 PC which I upgraded to in March of this year.  I have several hundred dollars invested in iTunes music downloads which are now worthless.  I am NOT happy.
I have been all over the 'net looking for answers with no luck.  I've tried everything.
I'm an IT professional, so I don't THINK I'm doing anything dumb.
I was going to contact Apple support but my iPods...several of them...are too old for free support.  They want $19 just to open a support case.  I balked at that!
Has anyone else has issues like this?
    Thanks!
    Jim aka arkiejim

Burwood...I really appreciate your help with this but I'm still getting nowhere.  I've gone through all the steps again...this time including installing QuickTime (I usually don't update that) and the iCloud thing...whatever that is.  Still no luck and still nothing of consequence in the Windoze event logs.
The only thing I find curious is that it always wants to install in the x86 programs directory.  I have no idea if that is imporantant or not.
I'm not a newbie...been an IT professional for 25 years but mostly as a Unix admin.
    This is killing me!
    Jim
PS  I'd live to visit New Zealand sometime...especially since they filmed the "Lord of the Rings" movies there.  I've read those books at least 30 times...worn out two or three copies.  And I have all the DVDs.

  • FlashCS4 Wont install on Win7 64bit

Purchased Premium Suite - Trying to install on Win7 64bit
Neither FlashCS4 nor PshopCS4 will install
Gives a message stating simply cant install
Gives instructions to reboot and try again
    Which I did
    Still does not install
    Any ideas why not?
Any ideas on what to do now?
    Thanks for your attention

The serial number is what determines the version of PS CS4 that is installed on your machine.
It is impossible for PS CS4 to install the 64 bit version on Windows XP 32 bit machine.
If you have a 32 bit OS machine PS CS4 will only install the 32 bit software.
If you have a 64 bit OS machine PS CS4 will install both 32 bit and 64 bit software.
Don't forget to install the .exe file installer file as Admin. Run the Disk but choose to explore the Disk. Find the PS folder and open it and right click on the .exe file and Choose to run as Admin.
Turn off Windows defender prior to install. It is also better to turn off Adobe reader if it is installed (better yet, remove it) as it has caused PS CS4 install problems in the past for some unknown reason.
To avoid problems install PS CS4 on C drive.
Like I wrote above the serial number determines what is installed, not the Disk. You will know if you paid for the extended as it is almost 1 grand (the upgrade is cheaper).
If you feel that you purchased the extended version but only the standard version installs you need to contact Adobe. Tell them hey, here is my receipt for Extended but the serial number you gave me is standard. This has happened before but nobody ever posted back saying the problem was corrected.

  • Xi-fi fatality pro not installing on Win7

)Xi-fi fatality pro not installing on Win7 I'm done. 7 hours trying to install a **bleep**ing sound card. Ridiculous. Before any one suggests, I've tried the Pax drivers, the KX drivers, some beta drivers, swapping slots, uninstall, clean drivers, safemode, killing a chicken - Nothing. Creatives crap drivers will not detect their own card, even though Everest has no problem telling me what card I have. HD Audio device is what I get. And even then I have no sound and the orange connecter seems to be a S/PDIF jack.
Creatives own PID hotfix will not even detect it(how lame is that). No matter what I try, and I've tried everything on these forums (and elsewhere) short of a format and re-install - and I'm not doing that for a ****ed sound card.
This is not a plea for help. I've availled myself of all the help here and elsewhere (at least the search function works). Thanks to everyone who's helped others and as a result tried to help me as well. But creative's garbage will not work on my system.
I remember my old Audigy 2 was a pain in the ass, I should have my head examined for even considering Creative again.
Oh well. I hear ASUS is good. I'm just sorry I wasted my time with this piece of crap.

-sorry to hear about your problems, I had the same thing happen to me in the past, in my situation the problem was fixed by removing the card from the system and cleaning/polishing the contacts on the bottom of the card with the eraser you find on the back end of a normal pencil...
best of luck with whatever you choose... creative is F'n many of us using Win7....
