  • Everytime I try to download itunes it says, Itunes Installer Interrupted?!

I was originally having problems downloading itunes because I couldn't get Quicktime and Itunes off my computer, but I download a program called Byetunes that completely deleted itunes from my computer. Unfortunately now every time it gets finish downloading Quicktime it stops and shows this message:
    Itunes Installer Interrupted.
The installer was interrupted before the requested operations for Itunes could be completed. Your system has not beem modified. To complete these operations at a later date, please run the installer again.
Does anyone know what I should do to fix my problem!?

Unfortunately I do not know what byeitunes does, but I have just seen another thread in which there was trouble installing iTunes after using byeitunes.
As a first step when you say +Everytime I try to download itunes it says, Itunes Installer Interrupted?+
Are you saving the installer on your PC before attempting to install iTunes. Do that if you haven't already done so.
Then try installing itunes again and give the full text of any error message.
Look in your Event Viewer to see if there are any error messages there around the time of the install
To find the event viewer, right click on my computer and select manage.

I'm not sure anyone here knows more about the Java plugin than you do...
Were you starting the control panel from disk as administrator because it didn't work starting it through the Start menu (if you have Control Panel set to View by Category, the Java control panel is under "Programs").

  • IOS 5 seems to work, but when I connect the ipad to my macbook, i get the message that itunes was interrupted when restoring. I try to restore again and I get the message "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-50)." What should I do?

iOS 5 seems to work on my ipad, but apparently something went wrong when restoring. I lost music and movies, and when I connect the ipad to my macbook, I get the message that itunes was interrupted when restoring. I try to restore again and I get the message "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-50)." What happened and what should I do?

I have had the same issue since day 1 of the ios5 installation.  I always hit "Cancel" and then the iPad eventually shows up again in iTunes.  Then a few hours later, I get the same message again.  Annoying, but I've not found a way around it.

  • ITunes update interrupted by power failure - now can't install

Gateway computer running Windows 7.  I've run iTunes without issue for years.  I had the bad luck of having an iTunes update interrupted by a power failure.  I got error 193 when trying to run it afterwards.  During subsequent attempts to reinstall, I also get error 7 (Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start).
Here's what I've tried so far:
    - uninstalled iTunes in the proper order according to Apple help docs, rebooted, attempted to reinstall.  Received error 7 twice during install, clicked to ignore both times.  Received error 193.
    - uninstalled again, searched for leftover files in various folders as spelled out by Apple doc.  Reboot/install.  Same problem.
    - uninstalled again. Searched for and found stray registry key related to iTunes.  Deleted it and attempted install.  Same problerm.
    - uninstalled again, and attempted to install as administrator (the login I'd been using the whole time was an admin login, but I was grasping at straws).  Reboot/install.  SAME PROBLEM.
I am beyond frustrated.  Why won't this install work?  What is the problem with the Apple Mobile Device Service?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)
If you still have issues with AMDS try the steps in Install missing components and/or review HT203188: How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows.

  • Problems with iTunes installation

    Hello,
I am having problems with installing iTunes 10.4. I am running an Acer Aspire M1640 running Windows Vista (32) v 6.0.6002 SP2 and updated.
When trying to update my old version of iTunes I got the following error
"Bonjour: The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK or enter an alternate pathway to a folder containing the installation package 'Bonjour msi' in the box below."
When I tried OK I got a repeat of the error and when I tried "Browse" this produced an unintelligble list of files.
I then went to the Apple iTunes installation problems and followed the instructions there.
Firstly I managed to delete the majority of the files in the Tenp folder and then uninstalled the old iTunes and made sure that Windows was updated.
I tried downloading a new version of iTunes from the Apple download site but on attempting to install it I ended up with the same error.
Can anybody out there offer any help with this as I am currently without my iTunes

    Hi again,
I have just posted an answer to my problem on a "more like this" discussion that I found on Apple Support Communities. So far I have managed to install iTunes and QuickTime in the way b noir suggests on this post.
It is early days but so far so good.

  • ITunes installer installs wrong folder.

Installer installs iTunes.msi in folder IXP729.TMP in Local Settings/Temp on XP SP3 English, then complains it can't find Local Settings/IXP694.TMP/iTunes.msi, which doesn't exist.  I navigate to iTunes.msi in the folder it just created, IXP729.TMP but it comes up with some sort of error, then when the installer cancels it deletes that folder.  I tried copying the folder while it did exist, then running iTunes.msi directly from it, but it still stops with the same error, that it can't find the non-existant folder.  This is a continuing problem--I tried updating to the previous version a couple of months ago and the same thing happened.  Plus, the installer and errors are in Japanese, although my OS is English and I selected to install the program in English in a stage of installation before the problem.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks, turingtest2.  That didn't work, but it helped.  You made me realize I had the problem backwards--the new installer wasn't looking for something it had just created and misplaced, it was looking for the previous installer, which had been deleted (if the error message had been in English I'd have been able to read it).  MS Program Install and Uninstall Utility also didn't work--gave the exact same error message, that it couldn't find the previous iTunes.msi installer, so it couldn't uninstall the previous version.  Once I knew the problem, I found the solution online--Microsoft's old Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, which they discontinued but is still available at Major Geeks.  Used that to uninstall the old (along with all the obvious ancillary files, plus bonjour and quicktime), deleted the program folders from Program Files, rebooted, then the iTunes installer worked (oddly, it even kept my old settings and playlists somehow).
If anyone at Apple is reading this, PLEASE give us the option to choose the language of the installer we download.  I went to the English apple.com site and entered my country as USA, but because I'm in Japan at the moment the installer was in Japanese.

  • This ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the Itunes installer to remove Itunes, then install the 64-bit version of Itunes.

I'm not sure if the error message is related but smart friend was using my computer started deleting Quicktime & Safari and told me that they shouldn't be on my computer as they are not windows product & I can't use them on my laptop. With trepidation but acknowledging I don't know any of the stuff they were talking about, I allowed them to raid my laptop thinking it could be for the best. Now I'm not sure if it is related or not but depsite me having the most recent Itunes updates on both my Ipod 4TH GT, I am getting the following message everytime I connect my Ipod to the computer...and the timing would be about right too:
this ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the Itunes installer to remove Itunes, then install the 64-bit version of Itunes.
If it helps I am running the 10.7.0.21 on the Sony Vaio & remember checking last week I do have the latest update on the Ipod but it is a different version from the Itunes on the laptop (which may be normal, I wouldn't know) but as I am away from home & Wifi I can't tell u the version on that though.
My problem is I cannot find an apple installer on the laptop to uninstall & I have searched Apple & Google for help and have seen others posts with the same issue but alot of the answers unfortunately I can't follow. I would greatly appreciate it if you can you answer any of these questions for me?
*Will add & remove totally uninstall Itunes so that I can reinstall?
*Will I lose my apps, music & data?
*If the apps, music & data is recoverable, how do I do that?
Sadly I can't find the installer & would love to add my new Mumford & Sons cd to my Ipod collection but don't know how to fix this. I love my Ipod & google but I have spent hours tryign updates, downloads, searches & feedback to Apple. A few months ago I had an Itunes billing problem & there was a webpage where you could email an apple support worker & rhe replied to my credit card problem within a day or 2 but I can't find that help for this problem..I couldn't express my graditude enough if you could help me with this, but thank you.

This "smart friend" really sounds like a collosal moron.
Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  to remove and reinstall all Apple products on your computer.
Once you get everything working, the next time your "smart friend" wants to touch your computer, tell them firmly NOT A CHANCE IN ****!
None of your data (media, podcasts, apps) will be affected by removing and reinstalling iTunes.

This iphone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes
I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!
Getting an iPad this Christmas and if I can't sync that up to my PC I may just have to go over to ANDROID!!!

Is there a way to install this on its own?
Yeah, let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • How do I move my iPhone to a new iTunes installation?

    Hi folks,
I have a new Windows 7 computer and want to sync my iPhone with it, but iTunes says it's going to delete all of my data. My old computer that I used to sync with is gone; the drive has been reformatted.
I don't care about the music on the phone; I have all of that on my server. However, I'm worried sick about my apps and the data stored within them!! I have years worth of life data, journals, etc, in apps on this phone. How do I tell iTunes, "This is my new computer now; back up and sync here from now on?"
Here's what I've done so far:
    1. I authorized the new iTunes installation with my iTunes account.
    2. I right-clicked on the phone within iTunes and selected "Transfer Purchases." It appeared to work, said it was copying all of my apps. But when I go to the Apps tab and click "Sync Apps", it tells me it's going to replace all of the apps on my phone with the apps in iTunes. However, I only see two (out of dozens) of my apps there! Did "Transfer Purchases" not do what I expected it to? How can I fix this?
    Thank you!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The iphone will sync pics and itunes content with one and only one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, it will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Also if you sync contacts/calendars to a blank computer, they will be erased as well.  Another reason a backup is critical.
If you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good)then, transfer purchases will transfer itunes purchases.  Make sure you have authorized the computer for your itunes account(s).
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
    Backup your iphone:
Backing up, updating, and restoring iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone software
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer.  When you first sync you should get the option to merge the data.
Than make a backup copy of your computer and always maintain it.

  • I want 2 separate itunes installations - how to do it?

I want to have a 2nd complete itunes with all my music on an external drive as backup or to take to another computer but when I try to run itunes setup on the external drive it just wants to repair or replace the itunes on my boot drive - how do I make it make me a 2nd itunes on the external drive. I REALLY do not want to mess up the original itunes as there is too much music in to get it all organized again.
    JOhn

You cannot install two iTunes programs as you describe. Very few programs nowadays allow one to perform what you want.
There is another way to get what you want. It may be a bit involved to set up, but will work. Managing the syncing between the two 'Libraries' will take some diligence on your part.
Here's what I would do. With a complete and functioning iTunes Library, music files and metadata:
    - Close iTunes
    - Make a copy of both the Library database file located in the 'My Music\iTunes' folder
    - Store the files in a safe folder
    - Attach the ExHD to the PC making sure it is a drive letter well down the alphabet ('M', 'N' or 'O') - formally change this if not
    - Open iTunes
    - Perform a 'move' of your Library to the ExHD as described in this post: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=1836529
    - Do not delete the original music files on the Root Drive
    - Close iTunes
    - Make a copy of both the Library database file located in the 'My Music\iTunes' folder - label them so you know they are from the ExHD
    - Store the ExHD Library files on the ExHD
    - Swap the original Library files with the current ones
    - Open iTunes - your original Root Drive Library will be back
What you have just done is to store the music files and Library database files on the ExHD. You can attach the ExHD to any other PC with iTunes installed (Keep a copy of the iTunes Installer files on the ExHD so you can install it easily).
As long as the ExHD is attached to any PC as the same drive as you did initially, you can copy those Library files to the iTunes folder, open iTunes and have a replica of your music, Playlists and metadata.
Of course, changes made to the main iTunes music file will not be reflected in the ExHD file unless you sync the changed music files and the Library databases. It’s a bit more involved, but as a start -- there it is.

  • Which is better?  2 iTunes installs wl one logon -or- One iTunes install with configured sync parameters?

First, I'm on Windows Vista ... not a mac ... and I do not own MobleMe ... my wife and I are already users of iTunes ... so we're talking about going from where we are now to where we want to be - which will involve changes.  Thanks in advance for sharing ...
Currently, my wife and I have separate Windows Logons (on the exact same desktop machine) ... and we each have our own respective iTunes software installed on our separate desktops.   She syncs her iTunes with her iPhone, and I sync my iTunes with my iPad and iPhone.
I'm interesting in merging our separate iTunes accounts into one for the purpose of not having to purchase duplicate apps that we each will be wanting in the future.  (She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to get her own iPad for a surprise present.)
Looks like we are going to repurchase all her paid apps and place those into my account ... (she has fewer paid apps than I have, and that seems to be the least expensive way to start off.)
    So... Here's my question:
Is it better to have her sign off permantly from her installed iTunes Account, and sign back on as "me" ... then download all the apps I have already bought that she wants?   ( I.e.  have two separate iTunes installations - both using the same login ID and password ... but personally configured to our liking).
    ... OR ...
Is it better to delete her installation of her iTunes Account and just start using mine ... again configured to her liking by checking which apps should install her her devices and which should be installed to my devices?
    =============
Right now, she has her own music and I have mine ...
I'm open to any suggestions about PROs and CONs of each method ...
    Thanks for sharing

I've done some more reading around and found posts talking about disconnect issues and that some of them were able to fix their issues with a newer router.
I started thinking about my setup... I have a fairly old Linksys WRT54G-L v1 router and the latest firmware is 4.3.0.12. I had previously been running 4.3.0.5 and last night before more tests I upgraded my router.
After upgrading the router I restored and re-upgraded Apple TV. Connected to iTunes and synced a movie. The streaming worked even if I rebooted Apple TV. I could close iTunes on the computer and restart it and the Library title would go gray and then turn back to white when iTunes comes back up.
    Sounds like its working ...
However, when I restarted the computer... relaunched iTunes... the library title / link stays grayed out and no streaming...
SO after reading those posts about the potential for routers to be incompatible it got me thinking about how old mine is, 5 or 6 years old I think... and now I'm thinking about a Time Capsule or AirPort Extreme...
But before I do that, I'm going to update my Windows computer that hosts iTunes to XP SP3 and see what comes out of it. I have been putting that off long enough (actually thought I had already done it but I guess it just slipped me).
After that I will see how everything is behaving.
IF anyone has XP SP3 and still has this issue I'd be interested to know what kind of router you are using.

Actually now that I think about it, I believe it is viable. Check out this article i found on google. http://ipod.about.com/od/introductiontotheipod/ht/mult_ipods.htm
If that doesn't completely help, just type in a google search "can two ipods work with one computer". There's plenty of helpful articles. So, scratch my last post. Sorry!
