Itunes installation issues, Windows Vista x64

Ok, so I have been having issues with the new update of iTunes. I had tried to avoid updating because I had heard there were some issues with the cross format compatablility of the new software but after doing a massive cleanup on my harddrive i figured I had held out long enough.  I updated, and I immediatly began having issues with the iTunes store. The bar would load about half way and just stick. I lost all the money on my giftcards from christmas and I couldn't buy the new music I wanted. I tried all of the troubleshooting I could find on the Apple website as well as the MS site, but no luck, so I uninstalled Itunes and thought that reinstalling it would fix the issue. I downloaded the installer exe. but every time I run it, it tells me that "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured durring installation. Your system hasn't been modified."
I have  purged my computer of apple software, both 32 and 64 bit. I have no idea what else to do, And i need a fix soon because I have people relying on my ability to have new, high quality music on a bi-weekly basis.
Thanks to anyone who can help, I am desprate at this point.

Try following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • ITunes installation on Windows Vista

Hi there. As everyone knows Windows Vista is already available in MSDN. I've already got it. The problem is that the installer of current iTunes version (7.0.2) doesn't want to install the program. The error message tells smth about wrong or impossible disk E:\. So please update the installer because I want to update my songslist in iPod:)

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • HELP!!   iTunes installation causes Windows Vista Activation corruption

We bought a new Dell Inspiron laptop from Dell that came with Windows Vista (32 bit)= a legal copy. I have tried to install the latest version of iTunes. The software seems to install ok, but when it is finished, I get messages from Vista that the my Windows Vista may be counterfeit, that I need to validate it. When I try to validate, it fails and never validates, and the machine no longer boots up in normal mode. The only thing that I can do is go into safe mode and restore the operating system to before I tried the install. The end result is no more iTunes until I can figure this out. Has anyone else seen this problem? Everything else is working fine.

  • ATV and ITunes Sync issues - Windows Vista

    Greetings everyone,
For the last 4 or 5 weeks I have had the issue of ITunes and the ATV not syncing unless I reboot the ATV. I am running Vista 32 bit with no firewall on the machine (the router handles it) and Avast Anti Virus. The ATV is "wired" in to the network and has access to the Internet even during the issue of not syncing to ITunes.
Scenario: I download new content in to ITunes and hit Sync (not the content just the library so I can see it to stream) under my ATV. I receive an error " ATV is not responding. Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689". Ok no firewall is present to block the port and it works and syncs fine if I reboot the ATV for ONE session. If I download more content it is another reboot of the ATV to sync.
    Any insight would be helpful!

did you ever get a response or figure out how to set your ATV up? I've got the same problem. Turned off my anti virus and my firewall and I think i've opened the port correctly on my router, but still get the error.

  • Cant download itunes 10 using windows vista error installation of assembly policy 8.0 microsoft VC80.CRT

cant download itunes 10 using windows vista erroe about installation of assembly

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • Installing iTunes 7.0.2 on Windows Vista X64

    Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been covered in the past, I looked over the forum and couldn't find anything on this. However I have a solution for installing iTunes 7.0.2 on Windows Vista x64.
What was happening was that anytime I installed iTunesSetup.exe from Windows Vista x64 it said it couldn't find QuickTime and aborted the install. Well what was happening is that all 32 bit installers now go to the "Program Files (x86)" directory. And the install team at Apple hard coded iTunes Install to look for the QuickTime folder in "c:\Program Files" instead of getting the location provided by the OS ("c:\Program Files (x86)\"). So it blows up when it cannot find the QuickTime directory in the wrong location.
First download QuickTimeInstaller.exe and install QuickTime. (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)
Move the QuickTime folder from c:\Program Files (x86) to c:\Program Files
Then download iTunesSetup.exe and install iTunes. (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)
Worked perfectly for me. Let me know if anybody has any problems. I would also like to forward what I found to apple so that they can fix this in the future. Does anybody know a good source to send this too?

    Maybe you can hel me
Im unable to install itunes 7.0.2 because each time I try to i get an error message saying I have insufficient access to that key...the key being HKEYlocalmachine\software\microsoft windows\...etc, etc. etc...
    Can you helP???

  • Can't install iTunes in windows vista x64 (error 0x80070002)

I have been encountering some trouble when trying to install iTunes in my Windows Vista 64-bit PC. When I attempt to install it, it gaves me a HRESULT: 0x80070002 error. I have been looking on the internet for a solution to this and have already tried everything. I also have the same error code when trying to make Windows updates.
I was wondering if there is a solution to this problem or do I have to reinstall my OS to get it right.

I think it would be a good idea to scan for malware as malware often interferes with Windows Update.
Download Malware bytes and run a full scan, there is a free version:
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/
In services, check the Window Update service. It should show as "started" and start up type automatic.
The other thing is to run the system file checker:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
This will attempt to fix problems and if it will not run, that is another clue to the problem.

  • CAN'T INSTALL ITUNES 9 ON WINDOWS VISTA 64-BIT OS

    Hey guys!
I'm having a reaaaallly hard time installing iTunes on my Windows Vista 64-bit OS. Everytime I think it's about to finish installing, it shows me this message:
What does it mean?? Can someone PLEASE help me, I haven't had music on my iPhone for 4 weeks now!

Curses ... you did everything right by providing the screenshot, thanks. But we really need to see the error message number that shows up after the "HRESULT" bit for one of those, and it's deciding not show us that.
Okay ... people who get these error messages for iTunes installs typically are also getting Windows updates failures too. So we'll try to work out what the iTunes/Updates issue is by checking your Update history.
Go into your Windows Update and click "Update History". Have updates been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on each failure to bring up a small window showing some info about the failure.
What error message codes are you getting for the Windows Updates failures? (For example, 0x8007000B, or something else?)

  • Experiencing trouble syncing with the 10.3 version of iTunes on my Windows Vista machine. Have uninstalled all Apple software twice, reinstalled and continue to get an error 7 message in connection with the Photo Processor. Any other ideas to try?

Experiencing trouble syncing with the 10.3 version of iTunes on my Windows Vista machine. Have uninstalled all Apple software twice, reinstalled and continue to get an error 7 message in connection with the Photo Processor. Any other ideas to try?

    Hi,
got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes.

  • Daqmx 9.02 on windows vista x64

I tried to install the latest daqmx drivers but it gave me a bunch of errors while installing NI-VISA and a bunch of other products. Eventually it finished installation but now nidevmon.exe does not start.
Here's what I'm trying to do:
I already have Labview 8.6 with daqmx 8.7 installed. I upgraded my application to Labview 2009 with daqmx 9.02 on another machine. Now I want to transfer that application to this Vista x64 computer. I also want to be able to run the older application (built using 8.6). I was hoping I could install 32-bit version of Labview 2009 along with the latest version daqmx and visa and then the upgraded application will work. Is it possible that the installation files were just corrupted? Can I install 32-bit daqmx on x64 vista? I don't really care about the memory usage limit right now.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi abdel2,
DAQmx 9.0.2 should work just fine on Vista
x64. Are you getting an error about nidevmon.exe? Were you getting
these errors on the 64 bit machine?  It sounds like you might have a
bad installation.  Have you tried reinstalling DAQmx?  Have you
    restarted since you installed?

    Mario

The article says that I should upgrade to the latest iTunes. I am on the latest iTunes version.
If you could read just a tiny little bit further, under the "Additional Information" section immediately after that, it says:
If you are still experiencing this issue when syncing, or have not installed Xcode 4 and get this alert:
Follow the troubleshooting steps in Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder.
If the issue is still unresolved, follow steps in Sync Services: Advanced troubleshooting for contact and calendar syncing.
    Have you tried those measures?

  • I cannot install itunes on my windows vista

I try to install itunes on my windows vista, it gives me a error

    "iTunesSetup.exe não é um aplicativo Win32 válido"
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
