Just cahnge the e-mail account asssociated with the account.  There was no need to start another account.
You cannot delete and account, nor would you want to.  All purchases made with an account will always be tied to that account.

This iphone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes
I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!
Getting an iPad this Christmas and if I can't sync that up to my PC I may just have to go over to ANDROID!!!

Is there a way to install this on its own?
Yeah, let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Which is better?  2 iTunes installs wl one logon -or- One iTunes install with configured sync parameters?

First, I'm on Windows Vista ... not a mac ... and I do not own MobleMe ... my wife and I are already users of iTunes ... so we're talking about going from where we are now to where we want to be - which will involve changes.  Thanks in advance for sharing ...
Currently, my wife and I have separate Windows Logons (on the exact same desktop machine) ... and we each have our own respective iTunes software installed on our separate desktops.   She syncs her iTunes with her iPhone, and I sync my iTunes with my iPad and iPhone.
I'm interesting in merging our separate iTunes accounts into one for the purpose of not having to purchase duplicate apps that we each will be wanting in the future.  (She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to get her own iPad for a surprise present.)
Looks like we are going to repurchase all her paid apps and place those into my account ... (she has fewer paid apps than I have, and that seems to be the least expensive way to start off.)
    So... Here's my question:
Is it better to have her sign off permantly from her installed iTunes Account, and sign back on as "me" ... then download all the apps I have already bought that she wants?   ( I.e.  have two separate iTunes installations - both using the same login ID and password ... but personally configured to our liking).
    ... OR ...
Is it better to delete her installation of her iTunes Account and just start using mine ... again configured to her liking by checking which apps should install her her devices and which should be installed to my devices?
    =============
Right now, she has her own music and I have mine ...
I'm open to any suggestions about PROs and CONs of each method ...
    Thanks for sharing

I've done some more reading around and found posts talking about disconnect issues and that some of them were able to fix their issues with a newer router.
I started thinking about my setup... I have a fairly old Linksys WRT54G-L v1 router and the latest firmware is 4.3.0.12. I had previously been running 4.3.0.5 and last night before more tests I upgraded my router.
After upgrading the router I restored and re-upgraded Apple TV. Connected to iTunes and synced a movie. The streaming worked even if I rebooted Apple TV. I could close iTunes on the computer and restart it and the Library title would go gray and then turn back to white when iTunes comes back up.
    Sounds like its working ...
However, when I restarted the computer... relaunched iTunes... the library title / link stays grayed out and no streaming...
SO after reading those posts about the potential for routers to be incompatible it got me thinking about how old mine is, 5 or 6 years old I think... and now I'm thinking about a Time Capsule or AirPort Extreme...
But before I do that, I'm going to update my Windows computer that hosts iTunes to XP SP3 and see what comes out of it. I have been putting that off long enough (actually thought I had already done it but I guess it just slipped me).
After that I will see how everything is behaving.
IF anyone has XP SP3 and still has this issue I'd be interested to know what kind of router you are using.

  • Transfer Songs from Ipod to New Computer and New Itunes Installation

    Hi,
I want to transfer songs on my Ipod to a new installation of Itunes on a new computer. I get a message that my Ipod is synced to another library and that I can only be synced to one library and that my ipod will be erased and synced to the currently libary. The problem is my current library is empty since it's a new itunes installtion and I don't want to erase my ipod and delete all my songs.
So how do I transfer songs from my ipod to the new itunes installation on my new computer?
    Thanks for any replies.

I think I've read in a post before that you can't do it that way. That you can only transfer music from the computer to the iPod, and not the other way around. I believe they suggested backing up your library (to disk, I guess) and installing it on the new computer. Something like that. It seems silly that the transfer only works one way, but there you are.

  • ITunes Installation Problems!

I have tried several times to re-install iTunes over the past several weeks. The problem seemed to start when I move the iTunes folder to another external drive. (Due to disk space.) Since that time I've been unable to uninstall and re-install the software.
The QuickTime software seemed to be the problem at first but is working fine now.
The error messages I get now are: "Error 1714. The older version of iTunes can't be removed. Contact your technical support group."
Which is then followed by another error message: "Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm)or MSDN for more information."
I can't seem to find a solution to this problem, which means my iPods can't be updated on the computer that I prefer to use.
    Please Advise!

okay, let's try enlisting some additional technical help:
let's try getting a installer log to someone who can interpret installer logs.
Start menu -> Run... In the text field of the dialog that comes up, type in "cmd" and hit return.
In the command prompt dialog that comes up, find the iTunes installer on your desktop and drag it to this window. Then on the same line type in a space and then the following:
    /Verbose"c:\log.txt" /V"ENABLE_QTLOGGING=TRUE"
There is no space between the e in Verbose and the double quote ("). There is no space between the V"Enable...
    Hit return.
The installer will create two log files:
    C:\log.txt and C:\qt.log
Find those files and send them to this email address Put the URL to this discussion thread into the email, so that the person who gets it has some context. Let them know the version of itunes you’re trying to install, too … in general, give as much info as you can.
    love, b

  • Strange iTunes Installer Problem, Need Serious Help

I just recently had no choice but to do a destructive recovery of my pc. I am now re-downloading all of my old software and I got to iTunes. I can download the installer just fine. But when I try to run the installer, after opening it and clicking run, I get the hour glass for about 40 seconds, then I get "iTunes Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." iTunes is a necessity for me, so can someone please help me?

But when I try to run the installer, after opening it and clicking run, I get the hour glass for about 40 seconds, then I get "iTunes Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Yes, that's quite a rare one conor. It seems to be associated with "silent" installer failures, and the "invalid signature" and "unknown publisher" error messages. In those cases, most often the installers seem to have been getting damaged during the download to the PC.
Checking on simpler possibilities first. Have you been downloading the installer from the Apple website?
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If so, does it make any difference if you do the download with (say) Firefox rather than IE (or vice versa)?

  • E71: seems impossible to share internet connection...

    Hi nokia users,
Since a few days I am back to Symbian, after using Windows Mobile for a year. Got a Nokia E71 and really love it (user interface, phone and onboard functions are so much better!!), there is one problem although: whatever I try (see below), it seems impossible to use the phone as an external modem (and that’s a must have function for a phone for me). Important to mention: the mobile internet connection are working fine on the phone itself, AP settings seems to be OK. I tried following:
    - Fixed cable connection, using the E71 USB profile ‘Share internet connection). Phone installs Nokia Connection Manager on my computers and tries acting as a modem. Got the error ‘No modem found’
    - PC Suite One Touch Access: with the USB cable or Bluetooth connections there is no problem in connecting phone with the computer. When I try to connect to the internet with One Touch Access, the connection fails (with error messages ‘No modem found’ or ‘Could not use the connection. Modem could be busy or modem is not configurated properly’). I tried several settings: choose my provider, manually configurations, nothing worked
    - JoikuSpot (let your symbian phone act as a wifi hotspot to share mobile internet connection): installs seamlessly, computers can see and connect to JoikuSpot, but then nothing happens. 0-0 packets are send and received when I check the status on the phone.
All the above I tried on two different Windows XP Home computers with compatible Bluetooth stacks (first tried Bluesoleil and then the standard Microsoft Bluetooth stack), with three different versions of Nokia PC Suite (6.7.22 + 6.86 + 7.07).
I hard-reset the phone several times (via *#7370#). I did not synchronise data to use a clean phone. Nothing worked. What worries me is that even the USB connection gave no response, it makes me think that the onboard modem is broken.
If you have any ideas what I can try, please share them with me!
    Thanks a lot and greetings,
    Wouter

Have you downloaded the bluetooth modem drivers? You might also need the cable driver.
You can get the cable driver here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/cable-drivers
The Bluetooth drivers are in the downloads section of the E71 section of the Nokia page, but for some reason pasting a link won't work
I managed to get the trial of joikuspot premium working (on a mac), but you should be aware that the lite version of joikuspot just connects you to their home page. It's a demo only really, I have never been able to use it for sharing my phone's connection.
    Good luck!

  • Where can I download a full iTunes installation file?

I need to install iTunes on a Windows 7 computer where the iTunes site is blocked.  This means running the usual setup.exe won't work because that then tries to download the rest of the iTunes installation files - and that's not going to happen.
A few years ago, I managed to find a full installation file (80-90MB) and did this successfully - but can't seem to find one now.
Anyone know a link where the full installation file is available ?
    regards
    Ian

  • ITunes Installs - No Privileges to Files

I have been trying to install the latest (11/26) version of iTunes. The installation seems to work, but I cannot launch iTunes. Error message is

I went through the exercise of uninstalling old itunes, bonjour, quick time, etc. (which made me do a ton of right clicking to get permissions set) and reinstalled, back to this same error. I am logged on with full admin rights. What can I do to get iTunes to launch?

You may possibly have also lost permissions on Program files (x86) itself which could also be misleading the shortcut. If you add yourself into the permissions there, is the iTunes.exe "seen" any better when trying to launch iTunes?

  • Problems with iTunes installation

    Hello,
I am having problems with installing iTunes 10.4. I am running an Acer Aspire M1640 running Windows Vista (32) v 6.0.6002 SP2 and updated.
When trying to update my old version of iTunes I got the following error
"Bonjour: The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK or enter an alternate pathway to a folder containing the installation package 'Bonjour msi' in the box below."
When I tried OK I got a repeat of the error and when I tried "Browse" this produced an unintelligble list of files.
I then went to the Apple iTunes installation problems and followed the instructions there.
Firstly I managed to delete the majority of the files in the Tenp folder and then uninstalled the old iTunes and made sure that Windows was updated.
I tried downloading a new version of iTunes from the Apple download site but on attempting to install it I ended up with the same error.
Can anybody out there offer any help with this as I am currently without my iTunes

    Hi again,
I have just posted an answer to my problem on a "more like this" discussion that I found on Apple Support Communities. So far I have managed to install iTunes and QuickTime in the way b noir suggests on this post.
It is early days but so far so good.

  • ITunes installer installs wrong folder.

Installer installs iTunes.msi in folder IXP729.TMP in Local Settings/Temp on XP SP3 English, then complains it can't find Local Settings/IXP694.TMP/iTunes.msi, which doesn't exist.  I navigate to iTunes.msi in the folder it just created, IXP729.TMP but it comes up with some sort of error, then when the installer cancels it deletes that folder.  I tried copying the folder while it did exist, then running iTunes.msi directly from it, but it still stops with the same error, that it can't find the non-existant folder.  This is a continuing problem--I tried updating to the previous version a couple of months ago and the same thing happened.  Plus, the installer and errors are in Japanese, although my OS is English and I selected to install the program in English in a stage of installation before the problem.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks, turingtest2.  That didn't work, but it helped.  You made me realize I had the problem backwards--the new installer wasn't looking for something it had just created and misplaced, it was looking for the previous installer, which had been deleted (if the error message had been in English I'd have been able to read it).  MS Program Install and Uninstall Utility also didn't work--gave the exact same error message, that it couldn't find the previous iTunes.msi installer, so it couldn't uninstall the previous version.  Once I knew the problem, I found the solution online--Microsoft's old Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, which they discontinued but is still available at Major Geeks.  Used that to uninstall the old (along with all the obvious ancillary files, plus bonjour and quicktime), deleted the program folders from Program Files, rebooted, then the iTunes installer worked (oddly, it even kept my old settings and playlists somehow).
If anyone at Apple is reading this, PLEASE give us the option to choose the language of the installer we download.  I went to the English apple.com site and entered my country as USA, but because I'm in Japan at the moment the installer was in Japanese.
