ITunes/iPod error Message

Each time I connect my iPod to my computer I get the following error message
"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive G:" Has anyone seen this error message as well and been able to fix?
Help is appreciated.

Well, first I'd update to the latest edition of iTunes (again). Might as well.
Then just drag the folder with all of your tunes into the program's main window. iTUnes should then show all of your music.
Now this is important:
Confirm that iTunes has all of your music. The next step is irreversible!
Once the music in iTunes, plug the iPod in. It'll ask you about replacing its contents with iTunes', which should no longer bother you. Hit Yes.

When I connect my ipod and launch itunes I get an error message saying my ipod is linked to another library (eh?) and would I like to replace the contents of my ipod with the new library (which is empty)All the songs on my ipod show up in the song list when it's connected but they're greyed out and can't be selected or played etc. Everything was working fine then this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I've tried dragging the itunes folder from My Music into the library in the source browser-no joy there. Help! Got new iPod Nano for Christmas and I STILL cannot get it to show up in iTunes - it has showed up in my device manager - with an over the icon - "The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Drivers. - Then another error - Wizard cannot find the software to instal -(my iPod did not come with a disk!!!) I have done the "R's" several times! Downloaded and installed and uninstalled several x's from iTunes. Changed USB locations - I have three to choose from. Thanks - I got it to install by going into 'run' to get to permissions, etc. So that seems OK - but my computer is still not acknowledging iPod software and for some reason iTunes is now showing 'the URL could not be opened' when I go into Help for iPod. It's still not showing up in Itunes, either

Sad faced Ipod error message (click wheel ipod classic)

I've had the sad faced ipod error message with my ipod before and forcing into disk mode has always solved it before.
It's not showing up in itunes or my computer when I connect it to my laptop.
I have tried forcing it into disk mode time and time again and about one time out 40 it will go into disk mode. The problem comes when I then plug into the computer to restore it. It will start telling me do not disconnect then give me the error message of a battery with little power left.
It is definatly charged because I have been trying to get it into disk mode all day and on the occasions I've managed to get there it will tell me i have 3quarters or so battery remaining. However when I am plugging it into the docking station it isnt coming up to say its charging it just goes over and over with the apple logo then the sad faced ipod message.
I have tried 4 different usb cables and 2 different chargers.
Its driving me mad and any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont want my ipod to be dead.

I have been using that page, I was hoping that as id managed to get it into disk mode a few times that it might not be a harware issue.
Its about 2 years out of warrenty so a service will probably cost the same as a new one

4. Enter your user name and password.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so arearticularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

no problems with ITunes on Dell Inspiron Windows 7 until yesterday. ITunes version 11.0.2. iphone won't connect stating required software is not installed. uninstall and install 64 bit version of iTunes. I have 64 bit version already. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times already. When re-installing ITunes get error message c:\programdata\34be82c4-e596-4e99-a191-52c6199ebf6\x64\difxinst64.exe. file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. please install or create an association in the Default Programs control panel. iTunes install continues after the difxinst64.exe error message but then get the iphone cannot be used error message again. therefore, I can't sync my iphone with iTunes until I figure this out.
can't win for losing. had iTunes on my windows 7 laptop for 4 years. first time I've ever encountered this.

I am a PC Tech and had a customer with this issue. Ran across this post in my search and ended up finding the solution on my own. The problem isn't with the iTunes software but the installer for the GEARAspi drivers. Really the issues is with the file type asssociations in the windows registry. On the system I was working on the HKCR key for .exe should point to the exefile key but pointed to nothing. To fix it create a new txt document and paste the following in (only paste what is in between the [code][/code] tags):

I have a iphone 4S. It has been activated on Win 7 computer and synced. But overnight this meassage reappears.

I had done all of that to no avail. I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again. I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped. Everything is good to go again. thanks for your reply

Fix for iTunes Producer error message? Fixing unallowable image names in iBA Gallery

In Gallery I had image names with unallowable characters, e.g. "photo name.jpg". I changed the name to "photoname.jpg" and re-added it in Inspector>Interaction>Gallery Media. It still appears as "photo name.jpg"??? Even in a new Gallery Widget?
I'm new here so please forgive me if I am violating any protocol. I would greatly appreciate any guidence in correcting my error.

The delivery of your book ended in error because there are image files that do not match the file extension type. Make sure that all image files inside the book file end with one of the following: .jpg or .png and that the image file itself matches the file extension type."
I did have a few tif images which I converted to jpg.
But, I ran across this posting which suggested I had other problems with my naming convention.

So, it turns out, the problem with these png-images is the NAME. There are no restrictions, to name your pictures, but when you intend to use them in iBooksAuthor, make sure, that there are no "wrong charakters" in the name. You may use a to z charakters, 1 to 0 numbers and "-" and "_". That's it.
The file "St. Giles.jpg" has
a) a ".", which is wrong and
b) an empty space, which is wrong too.
When you use screenshots, things are getting even worse "Bildschirmfoto 2013-02-08 um 08.02.  15.50.19".
So, if there are error codes as specified, you have to go through the document, click on each and every image and then check the filename. As you see below, you must activate the image itself to see the filename (in this case the filename is corrcect)."
