ITunes iPod music deleting problem

When I put a song into my iPod Touch and forget to put info I try adding it after editing it in iTunes, it won't work then I ty deleting the file from the iPod when in iTunes nor that will work.
Then i try deleting the file from the iPod manually, and put it back in the PC it STILL shows up in iTunes....   But with a little icon then I try adding the file again, Won't work. Try deleting it from the PC again, it won't work.
It has been like this since I updated to iOS 5.
Can it be something with the iPod???
What should i do?
Has anyone experienced the same thing?
Is there any way to fix this???

I got it Working

  • IPod music rescue problem

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but bear with me.
All my iTunes and ipod were synced on my old PC which essentially just died (go figure). So I bought a Mac Book. I want to sync my ipod to my iTunes on my Mac so I can delete folders and such on my iPod. However it tells me I can only sync it with one computer. So I downloaded Music Rescue to just copy all my songs on my iPod to my iTunes on my Mac and then sync so everything is there. However, it tells me exactly this "There is not enough free space on the selected volume. Please free up some space, choose a different volume to copy to or select less tracks and try again". This occurs when I try to copy either all songs, or just one.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!
Everytime I manually update my iPod now it copies 2 of each song no matter the settings and I can't get into my iPod to delete them. This is so annoying. Thank you.

    Hi,
the best software I know (and its free) for switching back the music stored on your iPod to your Mac is called Senuti (http://www.fadingred.org/senuti/).
Up to now, I never had a problem while using this software.
Hope that helps getting your songs back,
    Cheers,
    S.

  • ITunes & iPod song synchronisation problem.

    Dear Experts,
I want iTunes to scan through it's song database and remove from its Library the songs that no longer exist on my iPod.
The reason for this is that once I've copied tracks to the iPod, I delete them from the Mac's hard disk. So now, my iTunes library has lots of tracks listed which are NOT present on the iPod.
i.e. is there a script which can synchronise the contents of playlists (which contain tracks on my iPod) with the main iTunes library,so that the Library lists ONLY the songs present on the iPod and playlists?
Any idea on how to do this? Suggestions gratefully received. (I have searched the forum without any succcess and I've checked the iTunes script site.)
    Thanks.

Why assume that Podcasts are not music? Or that files in a user's Library are music? I subscribe to music podcasts and my Library has many audio books and spoken word recordings. Shouldn't my iPod let me arrange these tracks in the order of my choice, rather than assuming (incorrectly most of the time) that I would want the podcasts on top? I don't think I would have any difficult finding and playing podcasts if Apple left my song order untouched. (Needless to say, like the originator of this thread, I am not using it in "shuffle" mode.)
Okay, as long as you define 'bad' as 'not the way I
want it to be'. You might want to consider how, given
the design of the Shuffle, you'd ever be able to find
and listen to just Podcasts (and not music) if they
were NOT placed at the top of the list in that play
    mode.
If you want your iPS to treat your podcasts just like
any other garden-variety music track then you'll
probably have to jump through some or all of the
miscellaneous hoops that people have discovered and
discussed in these and other forums. The subject has
been covered ad nauseum; you'll have a lot to choose
    from.
Or, you can simply get some other MP3 player which
will do what you want. I'm not claiming that there is
one, but there certainly could be.

  • Ipod music accessibility problem in itunes

    hey people,
I hope you can help me out. when i open itunes, it locates all music files stored on the ipod as it should. from here my problem is that all the songs stored on the ipods harddrive appear in a ghost text and cannot be accessed or selected. when i connect the headphones, the songs play fine. any ideas whats wrong??
    thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, Martin.
This is how it should be -- it's how iTunes operates in auto sync mode (the default). Since all your songs are in iTunes you just play them there and not from the iPod.
If you switch to manual sync mode you can play them from the iPod instead (but manual mode is not recommended unless you really know what you are doing).

  • IPod music deleted?! (Over 50 songs gone)

Hey, all. Since scouring the forums has led to no progress, I've decided to start a new topic.
Just yesterday, I was going for a drive, and started listening to my iPod. Only, I noticed that many of my songs were gone.
I had 118 songs on my iPod, all legitmatly purchased from the iTunes store. I now only hav 52 songs.
No, I am not out of Disk Space on my iPod. I still have 3GBs left. Strange enough, when go to iTunes on my computer, it's as if I never had the songs. They were erased from my iPod as well as my purchase history. I don't know what to do. Anyone have an idea.

If they were erased for your purchase history and the device was signed into the account that purchased them, then contact iTunes.
    Contact iTunes
For the disapearing from the iPod problem:

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Itunes/ipod adding song problem

everytime i go to add songs, it wont let me, and under my ipod where it says music, when i click it, the font is not bold but lightened and i cant add songs nor delete any, how do i fix it? thanks

As an addition, these are the directions for something I'm trying to add to my notes, thus why I want to find Ipod as a device in my computer.
    1. Mount your iPod as an external drive via FireWire or USB, just as you would to work with iTunes.
    2. The iPod will show up on your computer just like any other internal or external drive.
    3. Open the iPod “drive” as you would with any disk on your computer.
    4. Open the notes folder on your iPod on your PC or Mac - on Windows it will show up in My Computer, on the Mac in the finder sidebar, or in the Computer (use the Finder’s Go Menu to open your “Computer” window)
    5. Drag the unzipped folder titled WDWToGoTrial, or WDWToGo_LiveTrial or WDWToGo__MenusTrial into the Notes folder of your iPod
    6. Unmount your iPod and you're done

  • Itunes ipod movie sync problem

I have a bunch of videos on my ipod but just recently all the movies sort themselves in music instead of movies(on my ipod). when i sync a new movie it sorts itself under movies.
    my question is: how do i get all my movies to show up under movies.;
and yes i tried changing the media kind to movie. but that dosnt fix the problem.any help is awesome!

    Hi dg,
I had something similar happen to me, this is just a shot in the dark. I had set my iTunes to play on a remote speaker that was connected via an Airport Express. Any time a video came up, only the audio part played, because a video can only play on the local machine. I think it's the latest "remote audio" solution.
I had to tell iTunes to play from the local machine, then it was fine.

  • HELP!  iPod music skipping problem

Hi there! I am posting so I can get feedback on how I can better organize my music. First off, let me describe a problem that I am having on my iPod that I think is related to my iTunes library.
    - While using my iPod with Click Wheel, I have (for example the Black Eyed Peas)10 songs, and it skips over a bunch of them except maybe one or two. Now, when I use iTunes all of the 10 BEP songs are the library and I can play them on my PC. I don't understand why they play on the computer but not on my player.
I think it has something to do with the way I have my music organized. Here's how I generally do it:
    - In the Windows My Music folder, I seperate each artist by their name. In this folder I have each album separated. When I add a new album or artist into itunes, I keep the My Music/Artist folder open and have iTunes open behind it so I have the screens split. I then drag the songs I want into the iTunes library and they show up.
However, as I mentioned before I have songs on my iPod that skip even though the "appear" on the screen, they just can't find the song so it flashes to the next song etc.
Is there something that I am doing majorly wrong? What does the iTunes folder in the My Music folder do.
Should I be better organizing my songs? Also it seems I have a ton of duplicates!
    Please help!

Other can be Album Artwork, Notes, Contacts, Firmware etc. or (and this doesn't apply to the iPod Touch or iPhone which don't have the option to enabled for disk use), files that are on there if you are using the iPod as a removable storage device. If you feel that Other is being incorrectly reported then try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Ipod music syncing problem

I have the most up to date itunes, and a 30g ipod color. I tried to sync my music today and somehow deleted all the music off my ipod. I wasn't so worried, so I tried to sync the ipod again and figured all the music from my itunes library would transfer.
Next I got a message saying that I didn't have enough space on my ipod. So, made my sync option a manual option and had it sync only 4 playlists (about 40 songs). I got the same message. I rebooted the compter and restored the ipod, nothing. When I look at the "music" tab on my ipod icon in itunes, it shows that I have 27.87 GB available.
    Any ideas?

there is no error message and when i uncheck the music and click sync. the music on my ipod is still on there
Something wasn't done right. What exactly did you "uncheck" before hitting the Sync button?
Are you sure you don't have the *Manually manage music and videos* option enabled from under your iPod's Summary tab?
If nothing else, try restoring your iPod in iTunes.

  • ITunes & iPod music question?

So I got a new iPod (4th gen if that matters) and I have over 3 thousands songs including over hour long mixes so it takes a LONG time to put all the songs on my ipod. I've been at this for like 3 days nows (putting music on my iPod) and i've just hit a wall. I didn't sync my ipod to put on all the music that I have on it already, i just Shift+A all the music in the library then drag & dropped it on the ipod. But now it stopped working? (fml) So I was looking what was wrong and noticed i wasn't syncing with my iTunes. I'm only a few songs (800+) short of having all my music on my iPod. So I was wondering if I tried syncing with my iTunes will all the music already on there be deleted & the process restarted? I don't want that. ._. takes too long. any other solution?

Ok. Does that script work instantly? I waited a bit and then when I clicked in itunes, Script Editor told me something like "Itunes had an object error".
Then I checked and there are 3110 checked songs in my itunes library and only 2696 on my ipod. Why is this?

  • How do I sync iPhone and iTunes so music deleted in iPhone is also deleted from iTunes?

    Hi there folks,
Not sure this is possible as I have done some looking online and can't find an answer, but thought the experts here may be able to help me.
I have quite an extensive music library, at least 5000 songs.  Problem is, I don't like/want to keep all of them, but to sit at the computer and listen to them one by one to delete is very painful.  I have my iPhone plugged in and playing music all day at work.  Is it possible to delete the song off of my iPhone and then sync in such a way that the same song is deleted from iTunes at a later date?  Is this possible?  I don't know if the music on the iPhone can override the music in iTunes....
Just in case it is helpful, I have the latest version of iTunes, run IOS 7.1.2 on a 4S
Thanks for any help, in advance!!
    RentaCop

Your iPhone actually gets the same form of files like songs from your iTunes library when you synchronise.
If you delete a song in iTunes library, it means that song will also be deleted in your iPhone when you sync.
However, if you delete a song in your iPhone, the song will recover after synchronization since iPhone copies files exactly from your iTunes library.

  • Itunes/ipod with colour problem

recently, ive been having problems with my ipod. i accidently dropped it onto concrete a couple of months back, and since then, it keeps coming up with the sad ipod icon. fortunately, tho im sure it doesnt do it any good, a swift smack to the back of it, and a restart usually gets it to work.
a couple of days a go, i had a pop-up on itunes saying that my ipod was corrupt, and needed to be restored. i clicked cancel the first time, but it came up again when i restarted itunes. i done this, and everything was fine. no sad ipod icon. however, now itunes wont open when my ipod is connected, but when it isnt, it'll load fine. i've tried it on my other pc without the internet, but that says about the ipod software not being installed properly.
i also cant access it via my computer on either computer, they both freeze, and stop responding.
i didnt buy my ipod from apple, so im pretty sure i cant just send it to them to get it fixed/whatever they can do. is there anything i can do, or would it be easier just to get a newer ipod?
ipod with colour   Windows XP Pro

if still does not solve try this
. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

  • Win 7- iTunes - iPod Touch update problems

I have a new, couple months new, ipod touch... I' currently running Win 7 home, 64bit, use FF and Chrome, ZA extreme.
Previously I've gone through two other Ipod touch on this computer, they were older and I couldn't rule out problems with either of them, but this one is not old. Itunes will want to update the ipod, when it does it kills it, gets an error 6 and can't repair it. I understand this is a tcp/ip error, but I took all steps to fix it. Also took down security briefly and to no avail. Finally I got my laptop up which is running XP with the same security and the same network, and updated it on that, no problem.
The laptop is on its way out, I really need to fix this problem before that happens. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be, or how I might go about figuring it out? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

I also did the Diagnostic test in the help menu and everything passed except the Internet connection but I can still go on the Itunes store and purchase items
