ITUNES/IPOD TRANSFERING HELP

sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i really
need your help.
I got a 2nd generation i pod i believe and i have
1040 songs on it, the thing is my computer broke so i
lost all my songs. now i got a new comp, and i got 40
new songs id wish to put onto my current ipod, but it
says i either have to add the 40 new songs in and
delete all my old ones, or have my 1040 songs but not
add my new ones.
it says my ipod is already synced to another library.
what do i do? PLEASE HELP THANKS.
I have the same problem...I use both my desktop and laptop to load music (I only have 2 authorized computers so far), but I get that message when I want to sync w/my laptop only. I have a ton of music on my laptop itunes and can't load it!! I don't think I should have to delete anything from the ipod..HELP!!
PS....should my ipod's contents upload to my laptop as well or are the two libraries to remain seperate??

So I have a 2nd gen iPod touch, and I buy all my music straight off of iTunes app. My old Mac computer (Let's call it Mac1) had all of my songs that I had bought on there prior to when we replaced it (may 2011). Then, we got Mac2. I can't put my songs that I bought after May 2011 onto Mac2, because it will only let me delete my ENTIRE library on my iPod (which has all of my purchased music on it). I don't want to lose those songs that I spent my money on. How do I make my iPod sync to a new computer and get the iPod's songs onto the computer?

Just transfer the iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
You may also be able to redownload the music( and apps) by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Itunes ipod Nano Help!!!

I have an ipod nano 1gb. On itunes i upgraded to the newer one. now i could only add less than 27 song. The capacity is now 896 MB. I use to can add more than 90 songs on my 1gb ipod nano. anybody know how this can be fixed?

Communicator (www.njstar.com) to display the chinese
characters -
I think NJStar uses an encoding which is not compatible with iTunes or iPod. You need to convert the ID3 tags of the songs that require NJStar to display correctly to Unicode. I have heard that ConvertZ is a program that might help do this.

Computer reinstalled - itunes ipod reinstall help???

Hi everyone, first post here and I'm after help, not the best of starts eh. Anyway I'm Steven from Manchester in the UK and have got a 5th Gen iPod, which is also my first ever iPod
Anyway, onto my problem. I had a major problem with my PC on Sunday and finally got it sorted on Tuesday. I lost my 1st HDD so lost iTunes and my iPod installation as well as all my files. Luckily for me though I had backed up my music and videos on my 2nd HDD, but sadly I hadnt backed up the library.
Just wondering if there is a way of reinstalling iTunes so that it'll recgonise my songs and videos and not wipe them first, or will I have to just create all playlists etc again?
2nd question is, that I've now misplaced my iPod CD so am unsure of how to install it. Can I download the install software again? If so then where from?

Itunes/ipod updating HELP!

whenever i plug my ipod into the computer it updates my ipod, however once that update is done if i change a setting and hit sync or apply nothing happens..itunes say it is updating but my ipod doesn't respond and it says that it is updating for a good minute or so then i get an error message. the error message says that the ipod cannot be synced, the required disk cannot be found.
how can i get this to work so that i can update my ipod?
also..if you uninstall your itunes then reinstall it will you lose all of your songs? if you can help me PLEASE do..i can't get anything to work.

Why can't you set it to manually update?
Connect your iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Set it to manually manage music. Click OK.

If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7 installed hold down the Control and Alt keys (or Shift + Ctrl keys in older versions). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes 7 Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Suggestions for how I can get the new purchases currently trapped on my iPod transferred to iTunes?

I recently bought an iPod touch and had no trouble loading all the existing music I have in iTunes to my new iPod. The problem is that no matter what I try I cannot transfer purchases I made on the new iPod into iTunes. Every time I try, "Transfer Purchases" is greyed out. As a result the seven tracks that I bought on the iPod are trapped on the device. I can't get them into iTunes. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get the seven new purchases currently trapped on my iPod transferred to iTunes?
I've tried suggestions from multiple support forums, and nothing has worked. Does anyone know why "Transfer Purchases" would be greyed out and how I can fix it so I can get the music purchases from the device to the computer. Before anyone asks, this has not happened with any other Apple device I have owned, including my iPhone 4 8GB, iPod Touch 2nd Gen 32GB, iPad 1st Gen 64GB, and iPad 2 64GB. I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.

Alright, right after posting my question I figured it out. I plugged my iPod into one of the USB ports in the front of the MacPro and it worked like a charm. Now the problem is, what is wrong with the two ports in the back of my Apple Cinema HD screen? That I can't figure out clearly. The USB connection from it to the MacPro is connected.

I tend to make my playlists right on my ipod. This did not happen for the last 2 years. Just started recently. Did get a new computer recently.

That is because you got a new computer. You can only sync all media from one syncing computer. You can sync from any computer to iPod using the manual method but that does not sync from iPod to computer.
To make this your syncing computer:

Authorization error message in iTunes when transferring music to iPod

This has been driving me nuts. I have a 30GB iPod w/ the color display and a brand new Intel MacBook with the latest version of iTunes (iPod's been updated as well). My previous computer, a Powerbook G4, fell off a counter and died on the spot, so my only back up for all the music I have is what's on my iPod.
First, I couldn't transfer all of my music from my iPod to the MacBook because of an authorization problem with iTunes. So, I authorized my computer, which still didn't solve the problem. I resorted to using iPodRip which successfully got all the music off the iPod and onto the MacBook. No harm, no foul.
The problem now is that I can't transfer music from the MacBook to the iPod for the exact same reason: I get the error message saying that some songs are not authorized to play.
I have tried the following things:
1) Deauthorizing and re-authorizing my computer on iTunes = No luck. iTunes informs me that I am now authorized and that I have 1 out of 5 authorizations in use, but the songs still won't transfer.
2) Playing an "unauthorized" song in iTunes. Again, I get a message asking me to enter my account info and then thanking me for authorizing. However, the song won't play in iTunes, nor will it transfer to the iPod.
3) Restoring my iPod to the factory settings. Not sure why I tried this, but it didn't work and is the reason why I no longer have all my songs on my iPod and am trying so desperately to get them back.
4) Used iPodRip to try to reverse the process, but again, no dice.
I have a feeling that the answer to this is stupidly simple and I'm somehow missing some crucial step somewhere. Can someone help me out?

Alright, I think I solved the problem on my own. For what it is worth, restarting the computer seemed to solve all of my issues. After restarting, iTunes accepted my authorization (alerting me that I now have 2 of 5 machines authorized) but my iPod kept disconnecting after syncing. So, I reset the iPod, downloaded iTunes 7 and reinstalled it, and whaddya know- It works! I have all of my music on both my computer and the iPod.
It was stupidly simple, too.
