Itunes is annoying me yet again.

I don't know why but itunes wants to put all of the apps that I have and want on my ipad on my ipod touch and it is driving me insane.
I also deleted an album on my ipod using itunes and it has yet to be deleted on my ipod.
So how can I change my settings in itunes to allow me to choose what apps go on my ipod.
Also how do I get this album deleted.

Have you checked the iTunes store Home page (with the house icon) and then looked in Purchased in the links on the right - if it's in there you should be able to download for free.  If you are just looking in teh store itself it lists the price and does not indicate you have purchased before. (Completely inconsistent with the  behaviour of the OS X and iOS app stores which will indicate install or update).

  • ITunes music library file, yet again...

    I apologize for this advance:
About every other post on this discussion board relates to how people are missing their music, playlists, etc. and I roll my eyes to read them. Now I am one of them.
Two days ago, I consolidated my music on my external drive, fixing a longstanding problem with syncing my iPod. For good measure, I figured I would make a copy of the iTunes Music Library file to have a backup. I am almost sure I copied it, but I may have MOVED it from the Music folder on the Mac (despite how none of my music was stored in that location). When I next opened iTunes, everything was reset: no music, no playlists. I have attempted SEVERAL times since then to import the backup file; my playlists have returned, but my ratings and the last played category are empty. How do I restore this information?
Know also that I had retitled my music library within iTunes to "The Jam." When I import the .xml, does it need to be named "The Jam" or "iTunes Music Library" or what? Does it need to be in the Music folder on my HD? with the actual music files on the external drive?
Any help would be appreciated (and eye rolling, too).
    Grant

    Also, a corollary:
Out of frustration, I imported the backup of my library into iTunes, but did it about 20 times changing the options a little each time in an attempt to restore the rating/play count/last played information (it didn't work). As a result, I have 20 copies of each playlist, so many that it has slowed everything down to the point that it takes around a minute with the spinning beach ball of death to delete EACH playlist. Is there a way I can start from scratch? I already followed the instructions on this discussion board about reinstalling iTunes...I did, deleted my copy, downloaded a new one, and the new iTunes came up with the exact same playlist configuration (despite my replacement of the iTunes music library file with the desired file).
Just know that I have spent days of my life amassing the information I now seek to reclaim and if a proposed solution requires that I reset and reinstall iTunes, I would be more than willing to go through with it.

  • ITunes starting to mess up again

I am having trouble with my iTunes. It is, yet again, forgetting my password. and When I come to this site to try and fix all of it, it says that none of my security questions are correct.

    Hi Justin,
You will need to contact iTunes Support to get your Security Questions reset. Online:

  • My iphone recently crashed and i had music i had purchased from itunes that i hadnt yet synced to my puter, how can i get it back without having to buy it again???

My iphone has recently crashed & i had music from itunes i had not yet synced to my computer how do i get it back without having to buy it again, im in Australia so do not yet have icloud

Unfortunately you can't.  You could try contacting Apple and asking nicely, but they're under no obligation to help you.  If you can wait until fall*, when iCloud is officially launched alongside iOS 5, you can probably download them all again then.
The small print at the bottom of http://www.apple.com/au/icloud/ says "some music features of iCloud are available in beta now in the U.S. only"
I can't find anything which guarantees it will work outside the US after the beta, but it probably will.  iTunes Match is definitely US only, for a couple of years at least until the legal stuff is dealt with.

  • How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance

How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. I do NOT want to spank all of my data allowance downloading it again, especially because (believe it or not) I added it to my phone because that's precisely where I wanted it!! Any help much appreciated

FYI I had to put this link into firefox to reply - because **** back safari just wouldn't register my clicks to any of the links on the post... Despite reloadeing and even restarting my computer. Totally annoying and a massive pain in the ***.
But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap.

  • ITunes Match on Windows 7 64 iTunes 10.5.2 64 -  - please sign in again itunes match has encountered an error. Please choose sign out and then sign in from the itunes store menu and try again.

Windows 7 64 itunes 10.5.2 64 - I receive the following error message when opening iTunes - please sign in again itunes match has encountered an error. Please choose sign out and then sign in from the itunes store menu and try again.
When I try to sign out iTunes freezes and I need to shut down windows entirely to get it to open again.
Has anybody been able to resolve this issue?

After many annoying sign-in-out-iTunes-match-activation problems I found an easy solution for me. When the iTunes Cloud symbol is broken (and I should sign in again) I just deactivate my notebooks (Windows 7) Wifi (with Fn+F5 for my Thinkpad). Then I call up the Itunes store and iTunes tells my that there is no connection to the internet (most probaply this step is not necessesary). After manual re-activation of my Wifi iTunes seems to re-establish the connection and the Cloud symbol signalizes that iTunes match does work, again.
    Hope, this helps.

  • When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"

When I attempt to upgrade an app in iTunes for windows, I get an error:  "Could not purchase.  An unknown error occurred (11111).  There was an error in the iTunes Store.  Please try again later"
I am running the latest iTunes 10.7.0.21 for Windows 7.
This error occurs if I try to either update the app or if I delete it and attempt to redownload.
I have an iPhone and an iPad.  I am unable to update the apps or install the apps from within the App Store on iOS.
I do not have an AOL ID, as is a common issue with this type of error.
From what I can tell, my Apple ID account seems fine.  I logged in, changed some information, and ensured my credit card is valid and updated.
I can download new apps just fine.  I am unable to update or install apps I have purchased in the past.

After 30 minutes this morning, no resolution. Then another tech support call this afternoon, 15 minutes in, was escalated to a Tier 2 (Senior) advisor. He said something similar to the above ("this is one of the strangest things I've seen"). He was chatted with iTunes guys and took all my info into the case and was escalating it over to engineering. Said they would be in touch.
    So, no solution...yet.
    Just to clarify:
iTunes on Windows7: trying to update an existing app, or re-download a prior app, gives the (11111) error. Downloading a new (free) app worked fine.
App Store on iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1: click on UPDATE, switches to INSTALLING...for a second, then switches back to UPDATE. No error message (and nothing in Diagnostic data).
App Store on iPad 3, iOS 6.0.1: same as iPhone 5.
    Definitely account related.
I have cleared the store cache, signed out and back in, deleted the credit card data, and re-added, rebooting PC and iPhone...nothing works.
Will post if I hear anything back from Apple.

  • Quicktime stealing file associations yet again

I just want to say how fed up I am of Quicktime. It has been stealing file associations for years now, and everytime it happens I have to find out how to get them back again to the way I want it - and yet again, the 'changes' seem to have no effect. What is WRONG with Apple? It seems they are belligerently determined to mess with my time and I really have had enough of it.
    OK, any help please:
    Quicktime version 7.6.9, Windows Vista.
I would like to be able to click on a .wav extension or a .mp3 extension and have it open in windows mediaplayer, NOT in a hijacked Quicktime web page that prevents me from clicking through to anything else.
    I have tried the following:
Edit\Preferences\Quicktime Preferences\Browser\Filetypes...Mime Settings - cannot uncheck associations with Quicktime! (way to be a *******, Apple!), the settings on wav and mp3 still showed Windows mediaplayer
Checked also the 'default programs' application in Vista itself. all looks in order there too.
    Apple *****.

Re Tracer -- did this work for you? I have the same problem, but when I disable the QuickTime add-ons in Internet Explorer (one of the numerous attempted "fixes" I've tried), the only result is a QuickTime window still opens, but will not play the movie clip. This has not restored my ability to use Windows Media Player to view mpeg files.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but my OS is Windows 7, and I'm using the latest version of Internet Explorer (10, I think -- I'm not at my own computer)
If you were able to fix this annoying problem, could you please post your solution (assuming it's not the one suggested by pmarangoni, which as indicated above, didn't work for me)

  • Ipod frozen - yet again =/

my ipod froze yet again, i have no idea why this time, but it's suck on the do not disconnect screen, i let the battery run out and charge it back up, nothing. Can't reset it either, ideas?
Windows also recognizes it as a drive, yet i cant access it(not named) and it just freezes windows explorer.

Did you try restoring the iPod to factory settings.
Put the iPod into disk mode first.
    Putting iPod into disk mode.
Restoring erases the iPod hard drive, so you will need to reload your songs from iTunes.

Delete the broken links in iTunes then look at your purchased list to redownload.
If this happened because you were deleting files from the iTunes folder in Finder, don't.  You have to let iTunes do all the deleting and moving or you will end up with broken links.

If you are now in the US then you can only use the US store, so you should update the address on your account
Changing country : Change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account.
Had you copied the songs over to your computer's iTunes library, do they show in the Music section on it ? You can copy purchases that you still have on your iPad over to your computer's iTunes library via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option

I am having trouble accessing my purchases and upgrades for apps.
    One Error message is
Could not purchase. the File or directory is corrupted and unreadable. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.
    another error message was
The app '_____' was not installed on the iPhone "____ iPhone" because you are not authorised for it on this computer.
To authorise this computer for itmes purchased from the iTunes Store choose Store>Authorise this computer.
    Then This message appears
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
This also came up last night while I had my iPad connected to the computer. Can someone please tell me what has happened and how I can fix it. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes.

Did you ever get an answer?

  • "We could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later."

When I try to open the home page in my Itunes I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection is not be established. There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later." It had been working just fine, in fact I had just purchased a song & edited my itunes account. Could changing the name on my account have cause the error message or is something else going on? This is a brand new computer.

I've got an Apple ID problem, too. All of the sudden in the midnight between August 31st and September 1st, the new apps I picked up on the App Store hung forever 'Waiting..' in my iPhone and never turned 'Loading'. When a substantial amont of time had passed, they reported, they 'could not connect to the App Store' and .. disappeared! Well what they told was not perfectly true because I could however connect to the store as I could browse and pick the apps, but the apps just didn't load. I tried to log into my account in iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop, too, and there got exactly the message in the topic title.
It appeared later my Apple ID did not completely fail because when I switched from my home WiFi to the phone 3G, everything worked just as nothing happened. Logically, this intimated my WiFi had flaws. Or, some place between my WiFi router and Apple servers did, to be precise. My router was not to blame because I did no changes to it whatsoever.
All right, it is Saturday today and my ISP is running in unmanned mode meaning no hotline, but I call them on Monday unless the problem disappears by itself. I just wonder what I say, because from non-i-world point of view everything works well, and I know for sure guys in the ISP support don't own any i-stuff, (because they are all android fanatics) . I'm not telling them my Apple ID to let them reproduce the problem on their home equipment, which means I come almost totally proofless.

  • I am getting "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error 0x80092013. I have just downloaded and installed current version of iTunes, and have the 2013 Norton IS. My proxy server is letting me got to iTunes, but cannot login.

I have a proxy server and the server is allowing me to go to iTunes. But I get a message "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error code ox80092013. I cannot find that code in the troubleshooting section. I have just installed a new PC HP5750, with Norton IS 2013. I installed the current version of iTunes directly from the iTunes site. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I contacted them and they said there should not be a problem with their server. I have had an account previously, but has been inactive for several months. I even tried to create a new account, but still got the same error code.
Someone please help with this. I have accompaniment tracks on iTunes that I need for music ministry.

  • There was an error in the iTunes store.  Please try again later.

For the last few weeks, the iTunes store has been displayed with empty graphic rectangles (with a blue box containing a white question mark centered in the rectangles), bits of text, and some buttons. The page extends quite a ways, including what I assume would be all the links to all the music Apple would like to sell me, etc.
When I click on any of the missing graphics rectangles or any of the links, I get a dialog box that reads: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The requested resource was not found. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."
If I click on any of the buttons, nothing happens.
This has been going on through several recent upgrades. I'm now on 9.0.2.25 and this problem still hasn't been resolved.
Everything else seems to work. Even Genius continues to offer me suggestions (I haven't tried to buy any, but at least it's matching things correctly and displaying correctly). I can play all my songs just fine. It's just the iTunes store that is completely useless.
    How do I correct this?

If all you are trying to do is buy music, you can easily buy MP3s at any online music download store (e.g. amazon.com) and add them to your iTunes library.
