ITunes is crap..?

Sooo, iTunes has been down for the past 2 days and I have not been able to download an album I have been waiting for, for the past month now.... It's kinda really annoying and when I look at the album it just says partial album... What the crap apple? I've waited for a month for it seeing preorder album and now I can't even download the thing. It's not just something with my computer or Internet either because my friends have tried it too. iTunes won't load it's home page of the store completely either. I love apple but this is ticking me off... Anyone no what the heck is going on?

This is all that loads... every time... same for my iphone.

Why is anything to do with itunes utter crap

I was given an ipod touch for christmas and the only problem I have had has been the total crap that is itunes. Everything is a problem. Itunes cannot be saved, error 4002, error syncing artwork, cannot sync at all. I've tried lots of fixes. Close Itunes and it will not relaunch, unless I reboot. I never had this trouble with a MP3 player. I wonder wether it was a goog Christmas present at all considering that I'm not a computer expert.

I have an alternate question: why do so many people who have a problem with iTunes just rant about how bad it is, but never provide any details about their setup or the problem so that anyone here can possibly help sort things out?
Sorry to seem harsh, but ranting does no one any good, not you or anyone else reading here. If you'll calm down, post information about your setup - you don't even say what OS your computer is running - the exact nature of the problem including the full text of the error messages, and what specifically you've already tried - I'd suggest posting in the appropriate iTunes forum, since this isn't an iPod problem as such - perhaps someone can help. iTunes works just fine for millions of people, and the chances are it can work for you if you'll have a bit of patience and give us enough detail that we can offer suggestions.

Installed Itunes on crap windows 95, now i can't itunes on my main pc?

basically itunes is useless on that computer, making my brand new ipod useless. which really discourges me emmessenly...
but i want to get itunes on my good custom build computer, but the problem is i can't get it to install?
my error message is: The Older version of Itunes cannot be removed. Contact your local support group.
this isn't fair. windows 95 is slow and useless what can i do now?

Make sure you are on the XP machine with an administrator account and then remove all traces of the previous install of iTunes, download the new one and install it.
Make sure you remove all remnant in your Temp directory.

HT1391 apple screwed up. Your new itunes is crap

Where the **** are my rented movies. Just took an 8 hr flight and couldn't find anything downloaded on the new itunes...what is this microsoft?

Marvelous, but how can Apple fix this if they knowingly put the 2600 mobile in there and everyone is effected. They would have to replace all our machines with new and improved iMacs.... I will reserve judgment until I test some Alpha drivers later today on XP. They are based on Cat 7.9s and have been modded to support all mobile chips including the iMac 2600 Pro (I gave the support team the device ID of this card).
If they can irradiate the more severe glitches I see in XP (does it more so and causes blue screens of death and puts the screen to sleep but continues to run games or XP) then hopefully it means ATI/AMDs own more mature set of drivers would resolve the issue.
Edit - The only other issue I heard of with this range of cards was a bios issue... if the cards Apple is using is based on this bios version then it would result in everyone having the same issues. So maybe an EFI update would also fix this....?

No album art on my Purchased songs after I got the new iTunes 10

uggh... iTunes always does the worst things to me...
This all started yesterday when I decided I would treat myself in trying to get the new 4.2 software on my iPod Touch. To prepare for the update, I backed up my iPod a couple times to make sure I wouldn't lose anything. I went to get the update, and I got a pop up saying I needed to transfer my Purchases. I didn't really see the point in this, but I did it, just to find all my Purchased songs off of my iPod and only stored on my computer. I had to wait awhile to get those back onto my iPod (I don't even know why they were taken off in the first place!), and when I went back to the Music library on my iPod I had no album art on my purchased songs. On iTunes, it shows the pictures on there just fine! Even on landscape, the picture is just that stupid gray music note that taunts me in my dreams... ok maybe that's exaggerating a bit... or not really...
anyways, I'm pretty mad about all this and I've had it with iTunes doing crap to my iPod that even GOOGLE can't help me with! (hence the purpose of me joining this forum: try searching "no album art purchased" in Google. Nothing!) I mean I guess I could go onto Google Images and download EVERY SINGLE cover art again, and manually put them onto "Get Info", but I have like 60 Purchased songs! I don't want to go through that only to find that it made absolutely no difference.
Anyone else got this problem or have any idea why it's happening to me?!
watch it be something as simple as a unchecked box in Preferences...

The iOS 4.2.1 seems to have corrupted the artwork database on your Touch. I had some artwork issues too, but the solution is to simply Restore the iPod and re-load your last backup. Of course, make sure that everything on your iPod is also in your iTunes library (which is why your purchases were transferred before the OS update).

Plain and simple, iTunes 7 is crap. I upgraded - may I should say downgraded with how it works - to 7.0.1 and it crashed as soon as I pressed the play button. Really giving a lot of thought to going back to 6.0.5.
jharkin and mpacific, I turned gapless playback off. It did lessen the number of crashes I have now. If you turn on crossfade playback only albums set for gapless playback will use the feature. Maybe you have already tried this...

Nevertheless, I wanted to understand why I ought to download this update.
I’ve spent a small fortune in music, audiobooks, TV shows, and movies from iTunes. As the message to update has a near threatening tone, to lose everything I currently own simply because iTunes 7.4.2 may not work on my computer is not a position I want to be in. It's difficult for me to 'Track answers" as I am dealing with end of life issues, but I'll try to track back when I can.

I must say, all of this new technology sounds wonderful. However - oh yes, I forgot to say there is a 'However' - I don't have, or intend to buy a iPhone, or iPod now or in the foreseeable future.
In view of the fact that I am terminally ill with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and in the final stages of cancer as well, I am unable to write, or correspond with anyone. Thus, I would have no reason to send photographs to anyone over an iPhone I don’t own. I don't mind sharing music or TV Shows, Podcasts, and so forth, with my caregiver, but that's as far as sharing goes in my home.
It is an odd situation you know, when one is in the final stages of life, family and friends seem to disappear rather quickly - that’s been my experience anyway. Oh what shall I do?
It remains for me to mention, there is not one aspect of iTunes I do not understand. The program is simplistic to the point of dullness. Believe me I have plenty of time on my hands to quickly learn such programs.
I must state, though, I'm not interested in High Definition anything. Any TV show I might download, I watch once or twice, and then I file it away on an external drive. Moreover, I was a studio engineer before I got ill, and I'm able to remaster any music download, disc, or album I want.
This brings me to another issue. As a Windows user, when I save music files to a CD-R, Windows turns that music file into an MPEG Layer 3 file, not a data file - though I can do that also. I then delete the useless MPEG-4 Audio Files, or store them on my external drive, especially since I take no pleasure in creating iMix’s. Therefore, I save every download from iTunes in one way or another.
Still, as my iTunes library is filled with MPEG Layer 3 files, nothing in my library would be replaced with high quality, DRM free files of any kind. Perhaps my MPEG-4 Audio audiobooks, and a few TV shows might be replaced, although I doubt it. Also, my music files have a much higher bit rate and sample rate than iTunes MPEG-4 Audio files. In fact, my audio files are 'lossless'. If they are not, I can make them so.
The music in my iTunes library is more important to me than any other files in it. Hence, as a consumer who does not own an iPhone, or iPod, I see no reason to download this update. If the program ran my wheelchair I might take a chance with it.
Be that as it may, I don’t understand why it is we think the latest iTunes program is 'always' the best. Indeed, I have found the opposite. That is, sometimes new doesn’t always mean better for everyone.
Therefore, 'What's New' gives me no reason to upgrade to iTunes 7.4.

ITunes U video freezes iPad video app

I just downloaded the new iTune U app. Went to the iTunes U and selected a video. When I went to wat the video my app froze! The video starts to play then black screen and I have to restart. I tried to restart the iPad but the video automatically starts and freezes!!...HELP..! Can't watch any other videos!

Well I seem to have fixed my own problem...not sure why it worked. I connected my iPad to my laptop and did a normal line connect sync.... The wireless was not working for some reason. Once the changes took place I disconnected and the video worked. Not sure why I had to do this...but I will NOT be using the IPad for iTunes U crap downloads...what awoke Apple!

TS1363 Is there any alternative to iTunes for copying music onto an iPod? I am sick to the back teeth of Apple and I am really getting annoyed at having to uninstall and reinstall iTunes every few weeks.

I have iTunes on 2 PCs, one running Windows 7 pro, the other running Windows 8. I also have 2 iPods which show up in Windows but not iTunes. Every time this happens I have to delete and download iTunes again, losing my library (nearly 10,000 tracks) in the process. I have had enough of Apple and their crap software as this problem has happened to me on previous computers as well and I think iTunes is crap. Is there some alternative I can use instead of iTunes to put music on my iPods?

ITunes 7.0.1 Search - Reduced functionality

I used to be able to search the Comment field on the Info page of song tracks. Anyone any idea why this feature has been removed and there is a quick way to fix it?

How do i add music from itunes to iphone 5

i cant find out how to just add music to my phone?
it says sync ticked ones which is fine but now it insists on backing up or whatever?
WHY?
im trying to be quick as im busy and its taking FOREVER!!!!!
plus my cable is shocking and broken and held together with tape so it keeps moving a milimeter and disconnecting and i have to start again..

So last night i rebooted my iphone, and my nightmare begin!
When i booted again it said for me to plug it in into itunes (oh crap), and it didnt boot anymore!
So i went home, and tried to connect him into itunes and do a restore as he asked for it (there goes my data), and so itunes started downloading 4.2.1 firmware and preparing installation! Then i checked that it spend hours trying to install on iphone always with that apple screen not moving at all!
Tried to reboot the phone, and now each time i connect him into itunes and restore this error appears:
Google for an answer for hours and not a single solution was found! RIP iphone???? :'(

Since your device will not restore from your personal computer, you could bring it into an Apple store and have a Genius attempt to DFU the device from the store's computer. If that does not solve the issue, your iPhone has become a brick.

ITunes Will Not Recognize Nano

I have two different ipods. Model: PB732LL Version 1.0.4 PC Model is: MC027LL Version 1.0.2 PC
I have not sync'd them for a while, but they both work great.
However my wife wanted a new playlist on hers so we hooked it up, created a new playlist and then the problems started. iTunes will see the device, but won't let you do anything that modifies it, to include resetting it.
I had the latest iTunes software and other components installed.
So, thinking it might be a problem with the newer version of iTunes, I completely uninstalled iTunes-related applications (following some instructions on-line). I then installed 10.7. No change. It will still see the device, but won't do anything to it.
The iPod "My iPod" cannot be synced. The disk is not available.
So, I installed 10.7 on a computer that never had iTunes. SAME PROBLEM. iTunes sees it, but will not write to it.
I upgraded both of these computers to the latest iTunes and tried once again. SAME PROBLEM.
It is not the iPods. They play fine and both of them did not suddenly begin exhibiting the same problem syncing with iTunes.
At this point, I can still eject the iPod, but iTunes is crapped out and won't recognize it at all if I plug it back in. Then if you close iTunes and try to restart, it won't until you reboot.

ITunes 7.0.1 Ruined everythinng

Hello all,
I am new to this and writing a post because of the frustration i am have with itunes 7.0.1 = 666....
7.01 wrecked itunes, couldnt do anything and then on satruday (9/23/06) i downloaded a video, and itunes worked with no problems, today i got the 7.0.01 update and now it has wrecked litterally everythign. Safari will shut if i change sites, itunes hardly opens up with crashing, all my applications are randomly starting and stopping and crashing.
Why would Apple ruin something that works perfectly fine? If apple were the awesome company i know them to be they would give me the options of deleting itune 7.0.01 and 7.0 and goign back to the last version until they figured out the problem. This is so ridiculous. i want to use my computer not be frustrated by it. (i have a car for that)
