ITunes is "loading" forever
Hi,
I have iTunes with my library on an external HD (don't know if it's related to my problem).
I haven't launched iTunes since the last update.
Just tryed launching it today and the windows is open, however when my mouse is over the iTunes window, the cursor is a thwirling balloon... ie : it's processing something
it's been like that for over an hour now... and meanwhile I cannot do anything with iTunes.
Anyone has a solution ?
THANKS
I'm able to get to my music but the front page of the store (as well as other tabs) is really messed up. Most of it's text and it takes forEVER to load. Must be the new update. >:(

Hey everyone,
I have iTunes 10.4 and an iPod touch. I have always had trouble with synching my iPod.
Right now, iTunes will not connect to the iTunes store. When I try to synch my iPod touch, it gets stuck in "Step 2: Backing Up," and the bar loads forever. I've left it alone for several hours and it has not made any progress. When I try to restore the iPod, or update it, iTunes gives me an error message that it "Cannot connect to the iPod software update server. This has happened despite being connected to the internet, on both my school network and my home network.
I've tried messing with the hosts file in the System32/etc. folder as the website instructed on the apple website, but that did not solve the problem.
Recently, several parts of audiobooks I have have also become unplayable on my iPod, despite being able to be played on iTunes. The parts are listed but are grey and cannot be selected.
I recently copied a bunch of audiobooks via flash drive from my sister's computer to my iTunes - could this be part of the problem? They were from an Audible account that I don't share.
Thanks!
-AllisonYour iTunes stores and sync problem solution here:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Itunes keeps on loading forever on windows 7
When I open Itunes, it takes forever to open up, then it loads forever....without being able to click anything. I can't even close the program manually or by any other way but by restarting my computer. I uninstalled it and re-installed it a bunch of times with the exact same result. I tried restoring to an earlier version and it still does the same thing. I'm using an Intel 32-bit. Can anybody help me? Thanks!
Hello there, DrumCorps!
The following Knowledge Base article has some good troubleshooting steps that should help isolate where your issue may be:

My itunes just pinwheels forever and never loads. I have tried force quitting it and retarting my computer. How can I fix this ASAP please?
had similar issues with my macbook(2010 running lion) and after a few restarts it would not restart anymore and is at the service center since saturday. i would suggest you do not use iTunes until this issue is addressed. seems to be macbooks that are having freeze up issues.

Message was edited by:atmutEvery time i try to access the Itunes store it takes forever to load. It just says "Accessing Itunes Store".
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

Game Center "Games" and "Friends Tabs loads Forever
Well i can enter Game Center but when i go to "Friends" tab or "Games" tab it just loads forever, if i try with challenges i see the "no challenge" legend some with the turns tab (no turns) since i dont own a turn game and have no challenge from other friends, but i cant see Friends and Games tab since they wont stop loading.
a specific problem with it is that i tried to play Clash of Clans after having deleted it (but not from game center) and the game takes it as a new one as it says im not connected to Game Center.Well it didn't work, it still loads forever the "Games" and "Friends" tabs, but my brother came yesterday and try to help me, i tried logging out of game center but when i go to settings>game center and log out, when i go back to settings (top left button) then go back to Game Center it says im logged in (as if i had never logged out) so my brother tried to log on his Game Center account after i logged out but then just started to load forever his account and when i tried to open the game center program it would just white screen with the loading disk forever, after doing what you told me things went back as before (my account, i can open Game Center but Friends and Games tabs wont load and games will act as if i were not connected to Game Center).
Thanks for everything tho guys i hope i can solve this issue its driving me mad!. -
Why isn't my iTunes store loading properly? It lists everything in text without images, and I can't seem to access the store when I try to search for music or movies etc.
1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

Suddenly itunes stopped loading. I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it but it wont load saying the Java sript core.dll is not valid. What do i do to fix this? And will i be able to get my downloads back?
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)
Re: I recently updated to vista service pack 2 and I updated to itunes 10.2.1 and ever -
Initial iTunes was loaded on XP and newer laptop is windows 7. iPod will not sinc
Migrate the library from your old compuer or restore a backup of it. If neither are possible then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I'm having trouble with my iPad 2 iTunes Match loading all of the music from my very large iTunes library off my Pc to my iPad. I really only want a few playlists. Do I have to delete all of the music off my iPad that I don't want? Will it remove those songs from my main library if I'm connected to iCloud and music match? Help!
Move the itunes Library.itl file to your exHD.
Then to get itunes to start using it from that new location, press *and hold* the shift key while starting itunes. Choose "use existing library" and browse out to the ITL file that is now on the exHD.
Future app downloads will go to the Mobile Applications folder created there. It will also start downloading the itunes store artwork to the exHD.
You can try downloading a free app to test it. -
How can I set iTunes to load "iTunes U = Name of University" at startup?
Is there a way thru preferences, plist, or app contents to make iTunes automatically load a specific URL when starting?
I too would like to set our University as the default iTunes application opening page for our SOE. The only solution (work around) I have to-date is to use the URL or the file generated by dragging and dropping any item in the store to the Finder, then placing this file in useful places such as the account Startup Items, the Dock, web browser's bookmarks etc.
My preference would be to as you suggested make this an iTunes startup preference and have bookmarks within the iTunes application.

My iPod 5 can't connect to wifi. It connects to personal hotspots but no to my home wifi. I tried resetting the network settings but no change. I put the right password but it just keeps loading forever. What should I do??
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
