ITunes is messed up... HELP PLEAZE
ok me, again, it really ***** that we can't call and talk to apple reps<they charge> anyways.. if any of you guys could help me thanks.. The problem is with itunes, i recently updated to the new version, and now is saying that i need to transfer all my music from my old library to the new one cuz it cant be in two libraries, but the problem is that if i accept that it will delete all my stuff in my ipod and restart it.. how can i avoid that? is there an easier way cuz i really don't want to download 2000 songs back into the ipod again.

Any chance you post the exact message you are seeing because I've never seen such a message.
Are you connecting the iPod to a different computer than the one you normally connect to?

ok so now when i pull up itunes something comes up first that says, "this service could not be deleted" then itunes comes up normally. But then when i hook my ipod up to it, it says the ipod software was messed up or something like that and it needs to be reinstalled. So I go to uninstall itunes and i go to "add/remove programs" on my computer and itunes is not showing up there. I try coming here and reinstalling itunes any way but on the last step of the installation wizard where it says "itunes+quicktime", it compltely freezes and the only way to close it is to end the task then a message comes up saying itunes couldnt be istalled. Please help.
Go here and follow ALL steps for removing iTunes and quicktime. the service error is likly the "iPod service.exe" so follow steps for removing it too. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976

My itunes is messed up and I dont know what to do. I click on a song to play it and nothing happens. The song just doesnt play. Even in the intunes store it wont play the previews. I have done everything that the itunes help has told me to do and its still messed up. Please if anyone could help me OI would really appreciate it. Thank you

Help!! Itunes is messing up my computer...it freezes everything, i cant get on itunes store, and it wont sync! I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling...no luck!
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now. -
When I click on any of my movie or TV shows in Itunes I immediately get an error message that says Itunes has stopped working and closes the program. I can sync the movies and shows to my phone okay but I can't watch on Itunes. Can anyone help?

Everytime i eject my ipod and reconnect it all my music is gone. and sometimes while i try adding music to it. itunes completely freezes. please help. and sometimes when i plug it back into my PC i have to rename my ipod and such
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
If this doesn't resolve your problem, then let me know.

I was able to get iTunes launched (with the help of Tech Support) in a very unsafe environment. I owe it to those who may need this after me. It will get you going, but you will be extremely vulnerable to internet virus assaults. Please do not use this approach, until you have exhausted every other available solution for your issue in the KB.
There are three Steps 1) Uninstall 2) Disble and 3) Reinstall.
UNISTALL Uninstall iTunes using Windows utility Add Remove Program available in Control Panel.
DISABLE Disable all third party System Services and Startup Items using using MSCONFIG utility as described in Service Document http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
RE-INSTALL Re-install iTunes6 + QT7. Launch it under the Selective Startup Option.
It worked ! You realize among other things at this point you have your Antivirus and Firewall disabled. When I started my computer in the Normal Startup Option, iTunes fails to work again. So I have ahead of me the long and ardous task of ruling out the service that is causing conflict with iTunes6. Then work with the software vendor to arrive at a solution. -

I am trying to home share with my new MacBook. The music library I am wishing to share is not displaying anywhere on my new laptop under music or library. My computer is authorized and I have tried restarting itunes, etc. Any help/ideas?
Are you using the same ID for homesharing on all devices.

It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:

You will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode for your computer's iTunes to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. -

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
