  • Itunes is messing with me

my itunes keeps messing up when i run other programs at the same time as listening to music...does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Mine does the same thing
Whenever i have other things open, when iTunes changes songs, it skips/stops for a good few seconds where i cant do anything. My CPU usage spikes to 100% on the track changes, but I've got over a gig of RAM and a nice sound card, processor, etc (does it on my gaming rig).
It gets really annoying when you have stops every few minutes, especially if you are typing or gaming.

  • Itunes is messed up help!

ok so now when i pull up itunes something comes up first that says, "this service could not be deleted" then itunes comes up normally. But then when i hook my ipod up to it, it says the ipod software was messed up or something like that and it needs to be reinstalled. So I go to uninstall itunes and i go to "add/remove programs" on my computer and itunes is not showing up there. I try coming here and reinstalling itunes any way but on the last step of the installation wizard where it says "itunes+quicktime", it compltely freezes and the only way to close it is to end the task then a message comes up saying itunes couldnt be istalled. Please help.

Go here and follow ALL steps for removing iTunes and quicktime. the service error is likly the "iPod service.exe" so follow steps for removing it too. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976

  • Itunes has messed up my mediaplayer

I started an Itunes playlist and my windows media player is now messed up

Create the folders you want. Drag the files from the folders they are in to the folders you want them in. If the folders they were in before you started are still there, use those.
    And no, I don't think there's a faster way.

  • 11.3 iTunes Podcast mess-up - will Apple ever do something about it?

This is the second major Podcast mess-up within 10 months!!!!!!!
Today is Monday July 21 - I downloaded the fatal for podcasts List View and very confusing and annoying for podcasts MyPodcasts View on Friday July 11 (morning) -
on Sunday July 13 Apple had an update to correct mistakes concerning iBooks i.e. they notice when they have erred ;-(
    But podcasts?
who cares about them, they aren't buyers, their plight isn't even acknowledged (should I dare to ask for a "sorry" or would that be presumptuous?) ...
Since they fixed iBooks so speedily I assume that there are buyers for their meagre offering.
i.e. today is the 11th day after they caused the wreckage to ListView - the revelation that MyPodcastView remains still limpingly operable was found via the community. They don't allow feedback for 11.3, at least they have it not on their list just like 11.2.2 isn't there. That makes me guess that by their reckoning podcasts is in top shape and all those grievances which you'll find in other threads searching for 11.3 are all due to ignorance and/or un-geek-worthy equipment.
Are they preparing Podcasts for the trash bin? What are the experiences of the community? Is this a one-off or has this happened with other free offerings?
How are Microsoft users of iTunes podcasts faring? Better or worse?
    https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

yes fox27 that new not synching feature between list view and play lists must have been generated via the wet dream of a super-genius
all in all I have by now resigned myself to the realisation that the golden age of podcast listening is over
I am cutting down on my list of subscriptions on a daily basis because otherwise I'd spend all time managing them and no time listening to any of them.
One of the many mysteries that remain for me though is if Apple wants to get rid of the podcast listeners (terrible freebie aficionados that they are) what do the major book publishers say about it? Though the number of presentations by authors on book-tour has dwindled notably since the beginning of the financial crisis there are still some plus lots of interesting long interviews which will be a lot more trouble to find.
i.e. Apple's neglect aka mistreatment of "us" hurts lots of companies whose products Apple wants to sell - I don't get the logic of it all - it is confusing.
Why haven't the book tour authors anything to say about it? Maybe alerting the stars amongst them like Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Lewis, Max Hastings etc. etc. to what is going on might be a way to get Apple to pay attention.

  • Itunes completely messed up...

i tried searching through threads to find this but no luck, so hopefully somewhere can answer or help me here.
im having a MESS load of problems with my itunes since i reformatted my computer. i reinstalled the newest version many times, updated my ipod many times but still nothing...
either i open my itunes and it completely Freezes and i have to exit the program. or i get it to load fine, but its not recognizing my ipod...so i will restart my computer untill it recognizes the ipod..
once i get it to recognize my ipod, my itunes either A) freezes as soon as i try to update my ipod or B) says Updating Ipod...but only flashes the update really quick, and doesnt update anything onto my ipod..
ive never heard of people having this many problems, i really dont know what else to do
anyone heard of all these problems?

    Hey try this:
Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall OFF, (turn it OFF Permanently until your ready to turn it back on) then click CONFIGURE.
Under the PROGRAMS tab remove any reference to Apple iTunes or iTunes or iTunes Helper Module or anything related. and reboot.
After coming back go back to Norton 2005's Personal Firewall, click CONFIGURE. Under the PROGRAMS tab click ADD at the bottom, a SELECT A PROGRAM
window will pop up. Add the following files one at a time, iTunes.exe, iTunesHelper.exe, QuickTimePlayer.exe, qttask.exe, QTInfo.exe. The last 3 are found
in your Quicktime folder where that is in your system. Click OK. Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall ON, and try starting iTunes again.
This worked for me. It seems the Quicktime files were never automatically entered into my Norton 2005's Personal Firewall allowable programs listing. Adding them
manually should help. I also noticed that from my previous version of iTunes the program listed in the Firewall was named Apple iTunes and not iTunes after I upgraded to 6.
Let me know if this works out.

  • ITunes has messed with my internet?

I don't really know whether it was the iTunes update or not, but since I have no other clues, I thought I'd start here. Basically, a few minutes after I upgraded iTunes and Quicktime last night, my internet started messing up. It works, but there are programs that refuse to work (as in, they go at 0kb/s). I've already tried restarting my computer twice! Anyone else having similiar problems? Or is it just my computer? I thought it might be the server, but the rest of the internet works fine, and there have been no complaints from anyone else....

We had a similar issue last night ... once the upgrade was installed, the internet became extremely slow. We just had Hughes Net installed (satellite) and it has worked flawlessly until we installed the upgrade. We have yet to figure it out.

  • Nano + iTunes 7 = Messed up Album Art

when I updated to itunes 7 my album art now is messed up. About one of five of every piece of album art is just a bunch of random colored pixels.
Anyone else experiencing bugs like this?
I am running the latest version of the updater. It also occurs when I use the previous version of updater (which I've had to do to get my audio books to function without hangs (another bug).
I'm hoping these get addressed in the next versions of iTunes and the updater. I love my nano, esp when it is functioning smoothly.

Is the artwork messed up in iTunes, on your iPod, or both?
Also, the iPod Updater doesn't really exist anymore. The iPod Updater is built into iTunes. So, when you connect your iPod up to your computer, update its software through iTunes.

  • ITunes 7 messed up my library, how do I revert?

Well... Another iTunes 7 problem, what a bomb.
    This is the case:
I installed iTunes 7, unfortunately without checking forums if there were any problems with it... (When it's official it should work correctly, right?)
After the installation iTunes started a search/work in my iTunes folders, with the result that EVERY cd I have ever ripped on my computer was set to <Unknown> in the tag for Artist and Album...
    Yay.
So, I uninstall, install iTunes v6.0.5 again and put the old "iTunes Music Library" file back in the root directory. So the files looks ok at first sight, but then I discover that iTunes 7 has actually moved all the files it renamed into a Unknown folder...
    Yay.
So what the h**l do I do now? I am not interested in moving thousands of files manually back to its original folder, and I don't dare to connect my iPod to my computer in fear of messing that one up as well.
Is it any possibility to copy all my files from the iPod into iTunes, so the files will once again be in their corresponding folders? Read something about iGadget, does anyone have any experience using that?
    iPod 5G   Windows XP

    I htink that you can:
-Change your preferences so that iTunes manages your files (artist has each own folder, etc).
-Select everything in your library and hit "delete". When it asks if you want to move to Recycle bin say "NO".
-Select all of the files in the "Unknown" folder and drag them into iTunes.
This should force iTunes to move them into the correct folders.
    Good luck!

  • ITunes a mess after copying

I recently copied my entire itunes folder to an external drive. The folder structure is incorrect and it is a complete mess of broken links which leads me to believe the original has the incorrect structure as well. All the music files are there however.
I am wondering if there is a way to pull all the files out of itunes and somehow launch a new clean version so that when I put the music back it will structure it correctly and have the correct links?
There are 1000 albums. All uncompressed.
    Thanks in advance.

you could try the technique described in this support article.

  • I know how to convert wma files into aac but the itunes program messed all my album how can i fix that

When i convert my wma files and put them into my itunes program it converts them automaticly but it mess up all my albums it split albums and it put lonely song here and there and i cannot put them back were they bellong...why it does that ? How can i fix that because i do have a lot of albums and i would like to convert them all and make sure that all song are in the album were it should belong ?
    Thank in Advance.
    Yan.

Filling in the Album Artist will fix things most of the time, though if you also have an older iPod then you might find the album splits up again on your device. For more information see my article on Grouping tracks into albums.

  • ITunes is messing around with my files

I just bought my first iTunes music, a double disc. I wanted iTunes to list the two discs as separate albums, so that it wouldn't mess up the track listing, so I went to the file properties and added disc 1 or disc 2 to the album name. I also changed the file name to start with, for example, 01 instead of 1-01 for the first track of the first album, and I put the tracks in two different folders.
Now when I open these files with iTunes, the file names are automatically changed back to what they were when I bought them, and they're moved to a folder called "<album name> dis" (the album name in the properties - minus the "c 1" or "c 2"). None of the properties are changed, however.
How can I make it stop do this?

Don't change filenames. iTunes will name the file based on the track name.
How can I make it stop do this?
Edit what you need to in iTunes.

  • ITunes 8 messed up my hard drive

So this morning before I left for school I started the update. When I got home 8 hours later, the install was done (obviously) and it was asking me to restart my PC. My hard drive was and still is making a ring-type sound. It won't connect to my computer. I've tried turning it off and on but that doesn't help. I think this update is messed up.

    Hi
I had exactly the same thing happen to me today. I was installing iTunes 8.1.
My hard drive made a funny noise, I shut the computer down and it would not reboot.
I could not run Ghost, or reinstall Windows until I formated the hard drive and installed Windows from scratch.
I was then able to restore using my Ghost boot CD and my backup on my external HD. I just finished after hours of work.
I won't try and install iTunes 8 on this computer again.

  • ITunes 8 messes up display adapter

I have bought an iPhone and had to upgrade my iTunes (which was ver. 7.0.2 and worked just fine). So I upgraded using Apple Upgrade tool. After I restarted the system screen turned 65K colors 1024x769 and poped up a messageth at new hardware found. This hardware was VGA compatible device. I tried to uninstall it and install drivers for my display adapter (which was Intel GMA900). It didn't work. Restarts, drivers updates don't help. I restored the system and tried to install iTunes manually. Result is the same. It messes up my screen resolution and colours (that is noticeable, who know what else is broken).
I am guessing it installs its own drivers that conflict with existing ones.
How could it be fixed ?

I also am having the same problem.
Computer fine. Successfully load iTunes 8.x. Reload. My display adapter has been uninstalled. Only successful way back to "computer fine" is to use System Restore.
I have attempted to upgrade my driver for my display adapter using ATI's page and some other websites "driver update" packages, but eiter I am doing something wrong or there is something wrong with the package or my computer.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
