  • Have literally tried everything and iTunes will not detect iPhone

Just bought a new macbook and am having some serious issues with iTunes.... My iPhone was detected the first time i plugged it in, but now it will not detect it. As soon as i plug my phone in, iPhoto pops up but iTunes does not. When i open iTunes, my phone does not show up. I have done all the troubleshooting, restarted both phone and laptop, re-installed iTunes (when i did this, it worked again for one time, then when removed and re-connected it failed to detect it again)
Everytime i plug it in it charges, but iTunes will not find my phone. someone please either help me or shoot me because its driving me INSANE!!!!!!! i followed every step that apple says to do and have also looked at other peoples answers and nothing is fixing this!!!
    thanks in advance

  • ITunes does not detect iPhones/iPods - tried everything

Okay, so 2 months ago I got my new Macbook Pro 17". iTunes wouldn't detect my iphone or any other iphone. I tried everything suggested on these forums (hopefully not true), but couldn't get it to work. I gave up and was hoping some sort of itunes update would solve it. Well itunes has been updated and even the OS has been updated to Snow Leopard. It didn't help
I am willing to try anything you suggest, so please keep them coming. Really want to get this sorted now.
Thanks so much for all your help.

Great to hear you have resolved the problem. I am running Tiger 10.4.7 not your 10.6.1 which I beleive is Leopard which I cannot update to as my computer is not suitable. Have you heard if anyone with my OS version has had success. I have tried removing iTunes v9 and then downloading v8.2.1, however I am still unable to gat iTunes to open when I connect my iPhone and iTunes does not acknowledge the connection in the side bar.
    Suggestions please.

  • ITunes does not detect iPhone - ON A MAC

I have seen many posts on this topic, but the ones I read were all on PCs. I am running a Mac.
    • 1GHz PowerPC G4
    • 768 MB DDR SDRAM
    • iTunes 7.4.2 (4)
    • All updates on iPhone
iTunes does not recognize the iPhone. I have to keep restarting iTunes and reconnecting the iPhone approx. 4-5 times before it picks it up.....
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

It looks like your computer is USB 1.1 only. Your Multi-Function Printer (MFP) is USB 2.0, but running at USB 1.1 speeds (Up to 12Mb/sec). There is also the potential something to do with the printer or printer software could be interfering as well. Have you tried connecting the iPhone with the printer disconnected?
USB 1.1 may work, but its not supported, and issues like you are describing can occur with USB 1.1.

  • ITunes/PC not detecting iPhone or iPod at all....

Having serious connection issues with the Apple USB Driver file.
I had to (HAD TO) reinstall Windows Vista (64bit) and updated all the updates to windows (service pack 1) then I started to re-install iTunes the latest version. Now whenever I connect my iPhone or my iPod it doesn't even get recognized by my computer or iTunes.
    I have tried:
    -Rebooting
    -using a friends iPhone/iPod cable
    -rebooting iPhone
    -reinstalling iTunes (2x)
-connecting to different USB ports on my comp
    Nothing, nada, zip, zilch.
My USB ports work fine...I plug in other devices without any problems.
So what's the deal? I wanna be able to add songs as well as update my iPhone to the new 3.0 when it comes out.

  • ITunes had an error while trying to update my iPhone 6+ and now the phone is bricked (and iTunes is not detecting it)

So I tried Installing iOS 8.3 onto my iPhone 6+, updated iTunes to the latest version, 12.1.2, downloaded the update for the phone, connected my phone - it detected fine like it always does. When I tried installing, it went to about halfway or so and then iTunes said there was a problem updating the phone.
The phone icon disappeared from iTunes and when I checked the phone it was giving the blank screen. I tried turning it off and on again... It showed the apple logo, and then the connect to itunes icon, but iTunes is not detecting it.
Even if I take it out and put it back in again, even with the hard reset holding the home and power buttons. I'm running Windows 8.1. So far I've tried the hard reset, cleaning the connector pins, switching to a a different USB port, reinstalling iTunes, checking to see if the Apple Mobile Device software is up to date, even using a previous restore point in windows.
The device makes a noise when it gets plugged in, indicating that it's being detected by the computer, but iTunes... nothing. And my phone is stuck on showing the connect to iTunes picture and it's bricked and unusable and I'm wondering why I even bothered with this stupid update.

Most of the recent updates showed the connect to iTunes screen for a short time. But if the update was done with the iOS device connected to the computer running iTunes, the Connect to iTunes screen appeared only briefly then the update completed. If your iPhone didn't complete the update you will have to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode. Follow the steps very carefully in the link below. You might have to try several times to get your phone into Recovery Mode.

My iphone4s does not turn on,when I connect to power ,it shows the message "connect to itunes" but when I connect to iTunes,my pc does not detect my phone,so iTunes does not detect my iPhone.

Are you running the most recent version of iTunes for Windows on your PC?  You may be running an older version that is incompatible with the 4s.
    Hope this helps

    Hello HungryHoover,
It sounds like you are not able to see any iOS devices in iTunes on your PC. I recommend the following article to help you troubleshoot that named:

  • IPhone DFU trouble: iTunes not detecting iPhone

I've just picked up a replacement iPhone 4 after experiencing faults with my previous handset. I went through the process of backing up my phone from my last iTunes sync, and was then prompted to update the firmware to 4.3.[whateverTheLatestVersionIs]. For whatever reason, that firmware update failed; there was an error code, but I wasn't switched on enough to note it down a the time (I know, I know...).
iTunes would no longer detect the phone, and the phone was stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen. So, I followed instructions to put the phone into DFU mode; this worked to a point - a Windows notification balloon popped up saying that Windows had detected an iPhone in DFU mode - so far so good. However, iTunes did not detect the phone. I have cycled in and out of DFU mode, restarted iTunes, restarted my machine and even shouted at the iPhone, but I've had no luck in getting iTunes to detect it.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'd get myself to a Genius Bar if I could, but won't be able to before I go away for a long weekend tomorrow night; I'd like to have my phone working for this if possible...
    Can anyone help?
    Setup:
    iPhone 4
    iTunes 10.4.0.80
    Windows XP Professional, SP3

Incidentally, the Windows balloon no longer pops up when I cycle in and out of DFU mode (although I am sure that I am managing to cycle in and out of DFU mode..)

    Hello Brian,
Here is an article that should point you in the direction of a resolution. It has a section about the OXE errors.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
Unknown Error containing "0xE" when restoring
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting. If you have a Windows computer with an Intel® 5 series/3400 series chipset, you may need updates for your chipset drivers. See iTunes for Windows: Issues syncing iOS devices with P55 and related Intel Chipsets for more information.

Check your system for possible Malware. But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
(Do not use your own Anti-virus to SCAN)
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.
