ITunes is not locating music in iCloud for replay

I just bought a new mac to replace mine that was stolen.  Prior to the theft, I transitioned my library to iTunes match.  On the new mac, the library is apparently conflicted as it is trying to point to an internal drive where no music exists.  When the "cloud" icon appears next to the song, it says there was an error with iTunes match.  How do I download my library from the cloud?

You seem to have two different things going on here. When you purchased the new Mac did you restore any data at all from a backup? Or did you just log into your iTunes Store account and enable iTM? If the latter then all you should be seeing is items available for download from the cloud. Turn off iTunes Match, log out of your iTunes Store account, quit and re-launch iTunes, log into your store account and reenable iTunes match.
Having said all that, iTunes Match is not intended to be a backup service, nor should it be depended on to be such. The absolute best way to get your media onto your new computer is to restore it from any backups you have been making.

  • My itunes does not download music from icloud

I cannot down load all my music content i purchased in itunes onto my PC, i have itunes on my pc with a clous with the arrow showing available for download but does not donwload when i click the cloud icon

You can attempt to reset the device by holding the home and power button down for 15 to 30 seconds and then when you see the silve apple let go and let the device start normally and attempt to download the movie again. Also could be an issue that there is an error when downloading the content. Have you tried to download the item to your pc via itunes then just sync to your iPad?

  • ITunes songs not automatically syncing through iCloud for iPhone?

I have to manually go to "iTunes > Purchased" to sync my iPhone with a song I bought on iTunes on my MacBook Pro. It doesn't automatically appear in my playlists. I have the option turned "on" in my settings, to automatically update, et al. What else can I do to fix this?

First of all, This has nothing to do with iCloud, this is all iTunes. To enable songs to sync in iTunes you will need to goto your device > Music > Sync Music, and iTunes should sync all the music you specify and new songs you purchased.

  • My iPhone 3GS (working on iOS 6.1.3) has not backed up to iCloud for the past 10 weeks.

My iPhone 3GS (working on iOS 6.1.3) has not backed up to iCloud for the past 10 weeks. And whenever I try Backing up to iTunes or to iCloud via either a pc or a Mac, I get the message: "Itunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occured". I tried turning off all apps for backup, but that did not help. I tried deleting all the photos and that did not help either. I tried the backup trobelshooting and I have tried using different computers. I'm completely stomped.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • ITunes does not sync music anymore (iPhone)

I have had the iPhone for 10 months, always worked just fine, but the last firmware update is giving me serious headaches. The last issue is that it syncs everything via iTunes BUT not the music. I get an error message that says some files are not found. The path to the library is intact, I can play any song from my Mac, it is just the sync process that does not recognize things properly. All the settings are correct (sync music tab, etc).
I ran a RESTORE but no luck. Any suggestion? Any way to go back to firmware 2.0 and previous version of iTunes? I never had issues before upgrading both, so not sure which one is causing the problems.
    Thanks

ran a second RESTORE, this time after doing a RESET ALL settings... it worked

  • ITunes does not allow music purchased on iPhone to be sent to my computer

So, I "purchased" (thankfully only FREE songs) two songs on my iPhone and I was told I could simply download them onto the computer when i connected. Well I can't, so I tried to download again but it told me they were already downloaded and should be there....they weren't. I followed the instructions to "check for available downloads" and I was told there weren't any.
Long story short the ONLY way I can get those two songs is to download them again. THANKFULLY it is a MONDAY and they are STILL FREE!!!
***?? seriously Apple, help me out here. I suppose I MIGHT NEVER MAKE A PURCHASE ON THE GO since i cannot have that song to play on my AUTHORIZED Computer. Guess that will help me not make too many purchases!!!!!

iTunes does not allow music purchased on iPhone to be sent to my computer
    Yes it does.
    Well I can't,
    Why not? What happens?
I followed the instructions to "check for available downloads" and I was told there weren't any. Because you already downloaded them to your phone. You only get one download.
Plug in your iPhone, select it in iTunes then File > Transfer purchases.

  • Itunes will not reconize music in file

itunes will not recognize music files in new computer.  I have done everything in the help video and in the instructions.  I have re-download itunes also, and restarted the computer many times.

Dave, you are a god among mere mortal men!
I had used the check to only load certain tracks on my iPod mini that my kids use, while loading everything on my iPod 60GB.
I guess I should come up with a different method for that.
Thank you for clueing me in on how the checkmark works.
I'm a happy man once again.

I bought a new Mac Pro and it's now he only equipment authorized for iTunes. I have several songs I purchased time ago and when trying to play it says "could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
When I try the "purchase link" it shows everyone of my missing songs "downloaded"
But if trying to play them on my library, it does not locate them.
    Thanks for any help...

You deleted the songs from your computer? >.> How do you expect them to play if you deleted them?

I am using a 2003 eMac and am running on Mac OSX  vs 10.4.11. I amrunning iTunes 8.2.1 (6) and not able to upgrade iTunes on this computer. iTunes is not recognizing music I have purchased and when I try to connect when it request me to I get the following error message:
Cannot complete  iTunes Store request. A required iTunes component is not installed (-42404)
    Please help.

Is this music purchased back in DRM days? I don't actually have any iTunes music so I can't test with my iTunes 7.5, but I know that without iTunes 10 you cannot even connect to the store anymore.  I wouldn't think that would require an active connection to the store all the time, otherwise how could you play music on a computer in the middle of nowhere?  Did you do something to trigger iTunes suddenly wanting to connect and check on machine authorization?

    Hello, BAHannebaum.
The article below should resolve any device not being recognized in iTunes issue that you are experiencing.  The most common issues are the Apple Mobile Device Support driver or iTunes is outdated.  Start with the first step and test the results after each step processed.

I Have iTunes since 2008. I have changed computers and I know have old libraries in my Hard Disk but iTunes do not locate a lot of songs when I try to play it. How can I correct this situation?

When iTunes say that try to find the file you want iTunes to play in your iTunes > Media folder.  If iTunes offers to find others, let it. If it does not find them all you will have to find them yourself or re-add the files from your drive to iTunes (use Automatically Add to iTunes folder).
