Itunes is not running after update

why itunes doesn't work properly after update? when i tried to open it some error has occured and no possibilty to run the program.
can you help me please?
thx in advance.

Try playing tracks in Quicktime. iTunes requires Quicktime and won't work if Quicktime doesn’t.
If Quicktime doesn't work, try uninstalling it using the following method, but just do the Quicktime bits
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
Then download and install the sand alone Quicktime, option 2 here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
If Quicktime is OK try working through This article on launch problems:

Also see this if iTunes won't open after an upgrade but shows in task manager:

  • Itunes will not run after update. Windows 8.1

I have windows 8.1 and just downloaded the latest update. The icon has disappeared from the desktop and the program will not run. Can I uninstall and reinstall without losing my library? Please help. Can't live without my music!!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Itunes does not work after Update any more

Itunes does not start after the uodate and cannot be reinstalled.
Seems not only a problem to me
    Any solutions yet ?

    Hello Wizzie71,
It sounds like you updated iTunes and now it will not open. Try the steps outlined in the following article. You may need to re install iTunes but your library will remain intact if you do.

  • ITunes will not open after updating

Ever since the update to 7.1.1 iTunes will not open.
I get a pop-up window that says iTunes has stopped working.
I have followed Apple's instructions for Vista about uninstalling all Apple products. I have done this 8+ times and I am at a total loss. I am a webmaster and Sr. Sys. Admin for a software company, so it's not like I don't have experience with computer/software issues.
When I look at the Windows application log. I have this error:
Faulting application iTunes.exe, version 7.7.1.11, time stamp
    0x4890a5ee, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time
stamp 0x4791a76d, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000254d8,
process id 0xf44, application start time 0x01c8fb2e587a39a9.
This started happening after I updated.
No other issues with any other programs. Quicktime will start up and run.

I hear you. My itunes is fubared and Apple and ALL the articles they send do NO good. I have emailed Apple many times and nothing helps.
Whatever they changed with version 7.1 messed up itunes and you can't go back.
I have emailed Apple asking them if I can delete my itunes directory and any references to itunes and NOT lose my 10K songs. They havent responded to that email and my guess is that it will delete it. But Im not going to risk losing my library until I know for sure !
Im in the same boat you are, I dont want to lose my library either. APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND NOW !!
anyway this is a pain in the *** but itunes(windows) will open this way
    UNTIL APPLE FIXES THIS !
    1.boot up windows
2.right click on your START button
3.go to C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes (my machine is a Dell with Vista)
4.go to the itunes directory C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC INFO
5.delete BOTH files SC info.sidb AND SC info.sibb
6.launch itunes, it should open, mine did.
    7. if you have any purchased songs from the istore, log-in with your user name/password.
THIS WORKED FOR ME BUT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR ITUNES OPEN, IF YOU CLOSE IT OUT, YOU WILL HAVE TO REPEAT THE PROCESS AGAIN. (at least I did)
    GOOD LUCK !!

  • Itunes will not start after updating to most recent version...

I updated itunes this evening to load up ios4 on my iphone. After updating, I rebooted and my screen resolution went from 1280 x 1024 to 800 x 600. Then I got a message saying I needed to restart bonjour, so I restarted it. Then an itunes error message came up saying itunes needed a certain screen resolution setting to function correctly (I had already reset it so I thought no more on it).
I can't start itunes now, every time I try I get that stupid "report to microsoft" message. I re-installed it and it keeps coming up. My head is melted, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks!

That sounds as if either iTunes or BonJour has been set to run in an old-fashioned display mode. (Lord knows what caused it to happen, though.)
Let's try checking on iTunes first.
Try following the instructions in the following document, with the one change being that when you get to *step 8,* make sure that *no options whatsoever* are checked in the compatibility mode tab.
Will iTunes launch without the error now?
If you're still getting the error, could you let us know which particular Windows OS you're running? (It sounds like you've got XP, but I thought I'd better doublecheck.)

  • ITunes will not open after update to 11.4

    Hi Cchoe,
I see that you are experiencing an issue with iTunes after an update. It sounds like this issue could be related to third-party software interactions with iTunes. Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot:

With that one, the only workaround I'm aware of at the moment is to disable your BonJour Service.
Right-click "My Computer" and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services and Applications"
    Open "Services"
Right click on the BOnJour service and select "properties".
In the General tab, change the start-up type to "disabled".
    OK out of the tab.
Restart the PC. Does iTunes launch for you now?

  • Firefox will not run after update (3.6 8.0) WinXP

I noticed that my mother's laptop was running Firefox 3.6 still, and offered to update. I downloaded 8.0, and ran the install. Had no issues with the install, no errors, nothing. I told it to run after the install finished, and it never came up. I tried the icon, still nothing. I downloaded Firefox 7.0, and installed it, figuring there might have been an issue with 8.0, since it just came out, nd tried it, same result. I rebooted the system, and tried again, still nothing happens, just the little hourglass for a moment, and then.. nothing. There is nothing in the task manager, no process for firefox. I tried running the profile manager and the plain program from the run under the start menu of windows with antivirus turned off, and got nothing there either.
    I'm running windows XP Pro
    ::edit::
I was able to re-instal 3.6.24 back over top, and it works, but I would like to update it for her still, if it can be done.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • FaceTime will not run after update to 10.6.7

Updated the OS to 10.6.7 earlier today. Tried to run FaceTime this evening, and found that it will not start. First indication of a problem was that the FaceTime icon was missing, instead a generic icon was present. Tried to start FT, and found that the computer will not let it start. Was told that this version of FT is not compatible with the installed OS.
I then did something that was probably wrong, but I deleted FT, in hopes that I could then download the latest version of FT from the AppStore. Not only did that strategy not work - I am still told that FT is already installed on this Mac, so cannot update it - but I no longer have FT in any version on my Mac.
Probably should have waited to download and install the OS update, but that is history now. Instead, I have two Apple apps that will not work after running the update.
    Any Ideas??

Reinstall the app from the Applications install disk that came with the computer. That will fix icon issues, and make sure that the version is correct. FT apparently has not been updated since the 'early 2011' MBPs came out, so the disks that came with the computer should take care of it.
I was able to get FT working in this way, and am now able to keep in touch with my wife, while away on business. Much better!!

  • ITunes is not resonding after updating

I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit.  I updated iTunes and it would not run.  I would get the message - Not Responding.  I removed iTunes and then reinstalled it and I am still getting the same issue. What do I need to do to get this fixed?

    Howdy,
The best way to find out if you have the most up to date version of iTunes is to follow these steps below.
    Windows
    Open iTunes.
If the menu bar isn't showing, hold down the Control and B keys to open it. Learn more about the iTunes for Windows menu bar.
From the menu bar, choose Help > Check for Updates.
Follow the prompts to install the latest version.
If you are not prompted to install a new version of iTunes, you already have the latest version your operating system can support. See the System Requirements on the iTunes download page.
Get the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support
    Take care,

after downloading iTunes it will not run on my pc in order for me to install it.

Are you able to successfully download an installer if you use Firefox instead of IE or vice versa? (Firefox handles network/internet connections differently from other browsers, so an issue in IE can sometimes be overcome by using Firefox or vice versa.)
