ITunes is skipping every track I listen.

iTunes is skipping every track I listen when it reaches 03:55s
I have also tried to re add those albums to iTunes again without success.
I have also tried opening any song with Quicktime (where I can listen them perfectly)
I have the latest version of iTunes & Maverick.
This started happening me yesterday, (I have already tried restarting my computer)

Hi lucasrod
Thank you for trying that.  I also recommend verifying that your software is up to date.  You can check for updates by going to Apple () menu > Software Update…
You can find more information here:

Sounds like you have a "damaged track" or "damaged file".
This worked for me today downloading Kendrick Lamar's new Album "good kid, m.A.A.d city".
My situation: I bought the album today for my Mac,  MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S devices.
Issue: One song (only on my MacBook Pro) would not play, instead display "
    EX: left"
Solution: 1. Manually delete the song (giving you the error) permantly from the authorized computer.
    2. Open iTunes, Click iTunes Store (left sidebar), and locate Quick Links and then click Purchased to proceed.
    3. Click "Not On This Computer", find the song that wouldn't play, and re-download it again.
    4. Check your Music Library for your song (Should download inside the associated album) and hit play.
EX: (Song I purchased that wouldn't play because of authorization, playing)
    Enjoy!

  • ITunes MiniPlayer skipping multiple tracks?

There's a small bug I've recently encountered while using iTunes (7.6.0.29). It's been happening since 7.5, actually. When I switch to MiniPlayer, using the manual Prev/Next buttons sometimes skips 2-3 songs with one click. No, it's not my mouse sending more than one click, since single clicking on my desktop icons doesn't run them. The problem seems to disappear with full mode controls, but MiniPlayer track buttons cause a few track names to flash past before it starts playing the "next" track.
Any chance this could be caused by the iLike sidebar? If not, has this already been dealt with elsewhere? I couldn't find it on the forums. Appreciate your help in advance, thanks!
    - David Nolan

Oh, and some additional info, the tracks it skips remain constant. (i.e. if I skip forward and then back, I'm onto the track I was on before, then if I skip forward again it goes forward the same number as last time. So, it's not entirely random.)

  • ITunes Music 'Skipping' every 41 seconds...

I have had a recurring and annoying problem with itunes of late...ever since I recently upgraded. At one time I could burn a disk and play it without any sound quality issues but after upgrading to 8.0.1 or so I noticed that every 41 seconds the music would skip, much like the stylus on a record for a fraction of a second, it happens throughout the song.
I've tried searching assorted forums to see if they had any ideas and following some other fixes tried- switching off the equalizer, only ran itunes alone, used different brands of CDs, downloaded the latest version of itunes from the Apple website itself(8.1.1), used the lowest burn speed etc etc and still the problem persists. I've wasted about ten CDs now and the cost is adding up but even worse is the project needs to be completed by Saturday AM and time is running out for me....HELP!!!

Yes, it seems that iTunes is flaky no matter how much you give it. The only thing I can suggest is that you try rebooting and quitting ALL processes before starting iTunes and attempting to burn the CD. If that fails, you may have to try to find another program to burn the disc.

  • Is itunes supposed to crash every time I skip a track?

So I'm trying to import a CD, well, several CDs...Which makes this very irritating by now!
I'm importing my CDs, but I don't want every track. I listen to the first track & decide to keep it, I skip to the next one, iTunes crashes.
I relaunch, start that next track again, I decide I don't want it, I uncheck it. iTunes crashes.
I even tried tricking it, fast forwarding to near the end of the track & just letting it play through to the next, but as soon as that next track starts, iTunes crashes.
So I wonder, maybe I should just play it all, then uncheck after wards, no skipping, just the CD as it was meant to be. Nope, iTunes crashes after every track!!! It's ok playing my library, I can even skip! But not on CDs. I am very close to breaking something!
Anyone else had this problem & fixed it?
I have tried restarting my Mac, I left it a day & tried again, I have re-installed iTunes from the official site. This all started going wrong after that last update....I really hope i'm not alone & they plan on fixing this!

Instead of Sharing to iDVD you want to Share to Media Browser. This will save the movie to a special folder inside of iMovie that you can then see from inside the iDVD program.
Choose Share > Media Browser (it's at the top of the list)
Choose the Large size and let it roll. It will take a while for it to work.
    When it's finished quit iMovie.
Open iDVD, Create a new project.
Go to the button labeled "Media" in the lower right hand corner of the iDVD window, and click it.
Just above that is a window with some buttons across the top. Click on the button labeled "Movies".
Inside the window you will see an iMovie star icon, double-click the triangle beside it to see all the movies being shared. Your iMovie project will appear there.
Drag the iMovie project into your iDVD project.
The quality of the final DVD is visibly better, sharper than if you were to Share directly to iDVD. So bypass Share to iDVD altogether and see if it stops crashing.

  • ITunes is skipping tracks. Why?

The iTunes player skips two tracks in a row of an album I bought at iTunes store. All the the other thousands of tracks play OK, but these two won't play, either on the PC or the iPod. Any help? Thanks.

    Hi, Susana.
Thank you for the question.  If the issue is being experienced on the computer and iPod, it could be an issue with the downloaded files itself.  I would recommend deleting the songs that are giving you the issue and download them again free of charge via the Purchased section of the iTunes Store.  When you selected the songs to delete it will present you with two options.  Make sure to select the option that says keep file as it will delete it from iTunes but not off the computer.

  • How do i stop itunes skipping the tracks

    could somebody help??
i have just bought a mac and when i play my albums through itunes it skips the track after about 20 secs of it playing

I have had a similar problem, but it was on  the ipod and it skipped after one second. Make sure you have imported the files from a good source- an incomplete download or a scratched CD could cause this problem. Does this happen with all your music?

  • After burning cds on iTunes using my Mac, every track seems to skip

I've been always burning cds on iTunes. Lately, I burned about 3 cds and everytime I play them, every track seems to skip. Is there a solution for this? I'm not sure if it's the burner or something else. Please help!

Burning CDs, especially with iTunes, has always been finicky.
For CDs that have playback problems, the first thing to try is to burn again at a very low speed, e.g. 2x.  This selection is made as the "Preferred Speed" in the Burn Disc dialog.
That often solves it, but if not, the next thing to try is a different brand of CD-R blank.  (I assume you already know that CD-RWs will not give good results, so it has to be a CD-R.) I eventually gave up on every brand of CD-R blank except Verbatim, but it will depend on your burner.
If there are still problems, try burning a CD on the same computer with a non-iTunes program, such as Toast.  If there is a problem with your burner, you will see it.

  • ITunes Match Broken After iOS 8 - Only downloads a few tracks, icons spin on every track in library

I have upgraded both my iPad Air and iPhone 6 to iOS 8.1, and iTunes Match is broken in two ways that make it unusable.
First, every single song on both devices (except those already downloaded to the device) has the "spinning wheel" icon as if I tried to download the song from the cloud... but I have not tapped Download on any tracks.  The iTunes Store "Downloads" list confirms that nothing at all is downloading.  If I tap one of those spinning wheels... it becomes a progress wheel and the track begins to download, and shows up in the iTunes Store's Downloads list.  So the icon for every track is just wrong, the little cloud-arrow replaced with a spinning (or sometimes stationary) wheel.
Second, and far more frustrating, is the "Download All" button at the top of a long playlist now downloads only the first 30-50 songs on that playlist.  After that it just does not try to download any others, confirmed again in the iTunes Store's Downloads list.  Every other song on my playlist has a stationary wheel icon (which is to say, not a spinning wheel but the same icon), and I have to tap every single one of those to get them to begin downloading.  I'm going on a long vacation with minimal internet service, I want to download a bunch of music onto my new iPad and iPhone, I have playlists that are thousands of tracks long... and now I have to tap every single song on every single one to download them for offline listening, which is just infuriating.
    Help!

Guess what!!!! I managed to fix it!
After much googling and experimenting - I can now download more than 25 songs in a playlist, and the songs don't get stuck with the red circle. The problem appeared to be, strangely, the syncing of folders of playlists in iTunes match.
    What I did
    - remove all music from phone and turn off Match
    - ensure music is available for syncing in iTunes on Mac (but ensure 0 songs are synced)
    - removed all folders from my playlists. Playlists do not reside in any folders anymore
    - update iTunes match manually from the Store menu
    - turn on match from iPhone, and download a playlist
That worked, remarkably. Some kind of buffering/caching issue when match tries to download from a playlist within a folder? How weird. Let me know if that works for you.

  • ITunes Radio hangs every time it plays a rejoin (You're listening to iTunes Radio).

Every time iTunes plays a rejoin ("You're listening to iTunes Radio"), the channel hangs.   Stopping and restarting the stream does not fix the problem.  The only solution is to start a second channel for a second, then go back to the original channel.

Same issue since changing Apple ID password. Apple TV won't allow me to play my music of video purchases (says iTunes is currently unavailable). I'm able to play them on my mac and iPad, however. Radio on the other hand is completely crazy on all my devices - when choosing a station it immediately skips through several songs at a rapid pace then gets stuck on the "you're listening to iTunes radio" glitch as described above.
I've done a reset and factory restore of my Apple TV, signed in and out of my Apple ID, reset my router, NOTHING has worked. Apple support was no help.
I'm sorry I have nothing to contribute right now - I'll keep searching and share here if I find a solution.
Why is chaning my password causing such chaos?!

  • I just upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my music library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not help because they are all listed as added on 12/12/2011.

    Library Duplicated
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not work, because every track is listed as added on 12/12/2011 even though this happened today 12/19/2011.

I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this  thread for background.

  • My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist.

My iTunes doesn't keep track of my listening history anymore. It doesn't update play counts and default "Recently Played" playlist. But it still tracking plays from my iPhone and syncing them.
I've tried to repair it with setup file. Nothing's changed.
Can you help me with that?
NOTE: Now I tried disabling the crossfade feature and it worked, started to count again. But I like crossfade, I don't want to keep it off.

I think I got this figured out. The playcount does update, but not how the previous iPod models update their playcount. Instead of immediately updating the playcount right after you finish the song like the older iPod models, iPod Touch keeps the updates in memory. The next time you connect to iTunes it'll sync those playcounts in memory to the actual songs itself, effectively updating the playcount of the songs only after connecting to iTunes. I have set my syncing manually. That's why after connecting to iTunes, my playcounts are updated. BUT it doesn't solve the mystery of my Smart Playlist. Even though in iTunes, the correct songs are listed, in the iPod Touch, it shows the old playlist.
Don't you just hate that? It was working fine before on non-iPod touch models. Now we have to live with this new bug. I just hope when they release software 2.0 it fixes these bugs and that they *give it for free!* People shouldn't be charged on something they should have gotten as a support!

  • My iP5 will not play any track not purchased from itunes Store, red circle with red square inside appears and skips the track, any ideas?

my iP5 will only play songs purchased formmthe itunes store.
all over songs, uploaded from cd's on my laptop and dragged into itunes will no longer play, a red circle with a red square in the middle appears and skips the track.
anybody know why Itunes / iP5 will no longer play all tracks, has worked for years, only stopped with the latest itunes update.

    Hey Kelsieee,
First, I would try to resolve the issue with the ! in a circle that you're seeing in iTunes. There's some steps in the following article that go over what that ! usually means and how to fix it:

  • ITunes 8 - Unexpected pauses in every track

Having run iTunes 7, on both Mac and PC, iTunes 8 on Mac and PC and putting all the songs on an iPod Nano and iPhone 3G, my music library is moved around a lot. Even though the Windows PC this occurs on is where all the files get downloaded to, in every track, (only in iTunes 8) a slight pause occurs randomly throughout the track, as if it is failing to read segments of the song of the hard disk. However, the pauses are in different places each time it occurs (it occurs with over 75% of songs).
I re-installed iTunes 8 to no avail, and have played both ripped, downloaded (before and after) the problem occured songs, all to the same problematic effect!
Any ideas, or anybody experiencing the same?
Just for the record, it doesn't occur on my MacBook, or any other devices mentioned, only on my Windows XP SP3 MCE computer.

I have the same problem in iTunes 8 on OS X 10.5.5. This problem is new in iTunes 8; all prior versions of iTunes worked without incident. Upgrading to iTunes 8.0.1 had no impact. The pause on my Mac Pro is not "slight", it is 30 - 60 seconds, during which time iTunes gives the rainbow wheel in response to any mouse or keyboard input.

  • Bizarre: iTunes skips importing Track 1 on ALL discs!

I am having the strangest, most frustrating problem: I have been importing my large music CD collection and midway through, I have noticed that the first track of EVERY disc has NOT been copied to my library. The remaining tracks (Track 2 and up) were imported fine. When each CD was importing, everything looked normal and I got a green checkmark next to the first track. What's even more bizarre is that now, I cannot recreate this problem because iTunes imports the first track of every CD as normal. What the heck?! I'm going to have to re-import the first track of every disc now... Did a Google search and got nothing. Anybody have the same issue? I'm running the latest, up-to-date iTunes (v9.2) and Mac OS X (v10.6.4). Please help! Thank you so much in advance.

May never know the answer I guess.
