ITunes isn't being detected by web browsers

Hi.
I have iTunes 9.1.1.12 and I'm on a Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7, 32-bit. When I try to associate my Apple ID with iTunes Store and add PayPal as my payment method, I get the "You have successfully created a Billing Agreement." message, but when I click the button to continue to iTunes Store...
Firefox 3.6.3 gives: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (itmss) isn't associated with any program."
Google Chrome 4.1.249.1064 unknown (45376) stays on the: "One Moment Please. Connecting to the iTunes Store.
Loading..." page.
Internet Explorer 8 does the same as Google Chrome.
To do that, I had to set each web browser as the default web browser.
iTunes doesn't recognize that I added PayPal as my payment method, and so I still get the error message: "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store. Please review your account information."
When I try to download an app...
Firefox gives: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (itms) isn't associated with any program."
Google Chrome gives: "Opening the iTunes Store. If iTunes doesn’t open, click the iTunes application icon in your Dock or on your Windows desktop."
Opening iTunes doesn't have the download come up, or whatever is supposed to happen.
Internet Explorer gives: "To download Facebook’s Facebook, you need to have iTunes."
This is all happening on iTunes that I have reinstalled already. Now there is an iTunes shortcut in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\iTunes. When I open it, it leads to "Please wait while Windows configures iTunes." I've waited and let it do its thing, but that hasn't solved anything.
I do know I have iTunes installed since I can open it fine through C:\Program Files\iTunes.
Any help is appreciated!

  • My SD card isn't being detected by my MacBook Pro

My SD card isn't being detected by my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It's detected fine by my camera and my iPad (using the Camera Connection Kit), but not my computer. I've tried it in both OS X Mavericks and Windows 8.1 using my Boot Camp partition, but it's not being detected at all in either OS. This has worked before just fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong and how I can resolve it?

I too facing the same problem after installing Mavericks. I tried opening iphoto first and then inserting SD card, that also doesnot detect. waiting for other solutions......thanks in advance

  • Audigy 2 Isn't Being Detected Correc

This is a weird problem that I can't find out anything about anywhere online.
Basically I left home for a week and when I got back my sound was very crackly, with some movies and songs not playing at all. I restarted my PC to see if it helped after checking the speaker connections and testing them with my onboard sound.
After the restart the SoundCard refused to work at all. I reinstalled the drivers and ran Creative Diagnostic which then resulted in the card apparently not being detected.
I did a manual install as recommended on the Creative Knowledge Base which resulted in the following items being detected in Windows:
    - PCI Input Device
    - System Interrupt Device (x2)
    - Mass Storage Device
    - VGA Device
None of these had appeared before and bearing in mind that the only PCI device I own is the Audigy 2 Platinum (my graphics are PCI-E) this REALLY confuses me (the EMU Processor is definitely present when using other diagnostic programs: the SoundCard does exactly the same thing on 2 of my friends PC's by the way).
Any help would be greatly appreiciated as the card is bearly 3 months old and there is no way it could have been damaged during my time away (locked door, unplugged at the mains).
UPDATE: Since getting the latest drivers I have sucessfully installed the soundcard but the above items are still listed in device manager and I still recieve absolutely no sound at all!? PLEASE HELP!!

no, i am just talking about the display attached to the computer. It doesn't seem to always do it either, this time when i started up it was ok, but sometimes when i start up or when it has been sleeping for a while it comes up without detecting the screen. the first time that it happened it was set to like 800x600 or whatever and it was all stretched and pixelated and i changed it to 1400x900, because the default 1440x900 wasn't listed and now when it doesn't detect the screen, it goes to that. Then like i said i have to go into system prefs and click detect screen for it to bring back the original settings. it is very odd, has anyone else experienced this problem?

  • I cannot access or reinstall Itunes, and my ipod isn't being detected

So, sometime after the fall of 2010, which I suspect was after iTunes 10 was launched, I noticed I couldn't access iTunes.
    It read error 2330.
I did some sleuthing for months, and now I get these error messages under the heading "iTunes + Quicktime" when I attempted a re-installation of iTunes:
"There's a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
"An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes"
In the past while attempting to re-install iTunes, I got error message 2330...STILL don't fully know what this means.
I currently have Bonjour, the iTunes folder, The iPhone Configuration Utility folder, and Quicktime on my desktop...The actual programs are also in my C:\ drive in Program Files...I can also see Apple software in the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel on my PC.
I seem to be able to access iTunes/iTunes store via the executable file in the iTunes folder by clicking "iTunes.exe", but no other way...I also noticed that the software will run normally, but not detect my iPod or allow my computer access...So in other words, iTunes doesn't recognize my computer as being authorized for my account, and yet it displays my email address in the upper-right hand corner of iTunes.
It's like I can only access a "half version" of the full iTunes I once had by going through that folder...No clue what's happening or what files may be missing or corrupted.
Quite simply put, I need help...I want to be able to use iTunes and my iPod Touch (1st gen) like I was able to this past fall before the mysterious accident or corrupt files ruined everything.

For that 2330 error, run chkdsk on your C drive.

  • My 4 gen iPod Touch is charging, but it doesn't say so and isn't being detected by iTunes or my computer?

So I've had the charging problem for a really long time now, and I haven't really minded it until now. The iPod still charges, but the battery icon doesn't light up or show the little lightning bolt anymore. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but now when I want to update it to IOS 6 I can't because neither my computer or iTunes detects it. It gets annoying because a lot of apps need at least IOS 5 to download. I am using Windows and iTunes 11.0.2.26.
    Thanks.

    Hey bcollins1,
There are a few articles that go over some troubleshooting steps to resolve that issue. If you're seeing the device recognized in My Computer on your Windows machine, just not in iTunes, you'll want to follow this one:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

If your iPod touch isn't recognized in iTunes and also in My Computer, you'll want to check this one out:

  • I updated my iTunes and now my IPhone 3G isn't being detected.

I looked on line to uninstall then re install iTunes and its still not working. Please if someone can help that would be great.

  • My iPod isn't being detected by my PC

I've been wanting to restore my iPod but my computer won't detect the device. So I have tried DFU mode and recovery mode but my PC just doesn't seem to detect the device even being there. I really don't know what the problem is... and I've tried the solutions in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 but nothing there seemed to work.

  • My iPod Touch Gen. 5 isn't being detected?

I plugged in my (new, recently bought) iPod Touch Gen. 5 to my computer (I use Windows, btw), and the Music library detected it. Good. THen i went to WIndows Media PLayer and iTunes to sync music onto it but it didn't detect my iPod at all So I unplugged it and plugged it back into another USB port. Nothing changed! So I resstarted my computer, itunes, and then ipod. Nothing happened, either.
WHat should i do? i really wanna get music onto it.

Windows Media Play will not detect the iPod. Yo have to use iTunes for syncing.
    See:

    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or

  • Friend's Ipod Nano isn't being detected.

He claimed that when he would first plug it in, itunes would pop up and detect it. Along with Itunes, a "Temp" folder would also show up. He said he might have done something wrong with the folder and from then on, the computer and Itunes won't detect his nano. He might have deleted something or changed something else up. He can't restore his ipod from Itunes now...is there a way to do it on the nano? What can he do?

After doing everthing recommended online unsuccessfully I tried this. Bear in mind this is with a 64 bit Windows 8.1 OS.
    Here it is:
    1.Control Panel
    2.Programs
    3. Uninstall or Change Programs
    4. Uninstall iTunes
    5. Uninstall Apple application support, mobile device support, software update (I even removed Bonjour and Quicktime).
    6. Go to apple.com and download iTunes again from the beginning.
    7. See if it works (hope it does)
You'll have to download Quicktime again, but no big deal. After I did this my laptop and iTunes finally recognize my nano and iPhone 3GS. In my control panel it appears that the other applications have also been restored (as you would expect). For those of you still stuck despite the recommendations online, I hope this helps you out.
    Good luck!
