Itunes Issues, Please Help
Hi I've got an iphone 5c and am running windows 8.1 on a lenovo laptop
When im trying to sync my tunes across from itunes, its really slow. I have to sync several times to get all my songs on, as it keeps coming up saying it can't convert some of the files. The occasional error -54 also. Some of the songs even though selected in itunes don't show up at all on my phone and others it says it had synced when i go to play them the artwork comes up but it skips to the next track
Can anyone give me any advice on how to resolve this please

And this external drive is network based rather than connected via USB?
Changing the the media folder location in preferences doesn't make iTunes "look for songs" on a new path, just tells it where to put new ones. Rather than copying the files by hand you should have changed the media folder, then consolidated the files to the new path.
You could delete the files that you've copied over and then consolidate the library properly, otherwise iTunes will create duplicates in the media folders. However this assumes that iTunes is currently only connected to files on the external but you mention a handful that play and you wouldn't want to break those in the process. An alternative approach is my FindTracks script. FindTracks uses some fuzzy matching routines for reconnecting lost media and searches for multiple potential locations. I just tried downloading the new update for iTunes which just came out. I tried to udate it and there was a error saying that there was a problem downloading. Now iTunes is no longer on my computer. Recently many people running various versions of iTunes are having the same problem. I have 15,000 songs that one day any song I clicked on played great, the next, one song works and the song next to it and on the same album won't. AND in trying to hunt them down to relink them the way Apple catalogs the songs, I have found songs from the same album in many different folders scattered and buried deep. It looked at them as individual songs and not the album that it is and if they have an association with something else, 9 out 10 times it puts it with that instead of where they really belong. And before anyone says try this . . . I have. I have been using iTunes since day one, and until recently have never had a problem. And it looks like I'm not the only one.

Feedburner iTunes issue please help!
Hello i have a podcast(thedrinkingcrow.com) and I use tumblr and feedburner with my episodes hosted on dropbox...my feed is

It has been working perfectly for the first 6 episodes but when I posted the 7th last night all of my iTunes episodes disappeared. Feedburner gave me an error for each individual episode:
Content Type reported: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Media enclosure not created because: The content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video.
What do I do? I'm very new at this and this is my first issue

Benitohttp://thedrinkingcrow.com/rss just redirects immediately to the Feedburner feed. But all Feedburner does is add a few tags for atom, etc, and iTunes if necessary and then pass it on to iTunes. All the episode information would be drawn directly from the tumblr feed so anything which is missing in Feedburner will be missing in the original feed.
This sort of problem more usually arises when a podcast is started: the originating program or service creates a web page, and sometimes there is a feed for the web page, as a blog, and another feed as a podcast. People then submit the wrong feed to iTunes with exactly the results we are seeing. This situation is more unusual in that you had it working originally. I don't see links to two feeds on the web page, so whether you've managed to send the wrong feed to Feedburner in the process of adding an episode, or what else may have happened, is difficult to say. -

I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.

1. Try the iPod troubleshooting assistant:
If you haven't already done so, try the steps in the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant (choose your iPod model from the list).
If the issue remains after following your iPod's troubleshooting assistant, follow the steps below.
2. Restart the iPod Service
3. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Change your iPod's drive letter
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
8. Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

It sounds like the device drivers for your iPhone are working in Windows, but the phone is not showing in iTunes. You should be able to get that showing again with the steps in this article:

Start with these three steps, and there are more in the article if you need them.
1. Update iTunes
Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. In iTunes, select "Check for updates" in the Help menu.
2. Check the USB cable
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might support only charging those products (and not transmitting data) or they might work only with the product with which they were sold. Using one of these cables to sync could cause issues. If you are using a third-party case, such as an extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.
3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
iOS devices require Apple Mobile Device Support, which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
Windows XP: Click Start and choose Control Panel. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click Start and choose Control Panel. Click "Uninstall a program" (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click "Programs and Features"). Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type Control Panel,and press Return. Click "Uninstall a program". Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
If Apple Mobile Device Support is not listed, remove iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support, and then reinstall iTunes. Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below:
Reinstall iTunes for Windows XP
Reinstall iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
If after reinstalling iTunes Apple Mobile Device Support is still not installed, follow steps in Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows.

SOLUTION:
Iam pointing t0 windows7 os.
1) go to control panel
2) open hardware and sound
3) In that open Devices and printers
4)In that u can find Apple Iphone.
5) now right click on this --> Hardware --> Properties --> General --> Uninstall --> ok.
6) now unplug and plug in ur iphone again.There u go u iphone name changes to its original name.I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems. -

I recently got the new iPhone 5s. When connecting it up to my laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook A series) I made sure to re-install it and make sure its up to date. I connected it up using the USB chord supplied with my iphone. It registers as an iphone on my laptop but wont show up in iTunes. Please help!

I've tried updating in the following conditions:
1. "Over The Air" at one location;
2. On a Windows computer running the latest version of iTunes at the same location;
3. On Mavericks (10.9.4) running the latest version of iTunes (11.4 (18)) at another location;
4. On Mavericks, latest iTunes over a VPN with a server location in US;
5. On Mavericks, using a 3G connection shared from an iPhone;
6. On Yosemite developer preview with a previous version of iTunes at the same location.
I got the same results in most cases except for an occasional error with code 9; I'll try again in other conditions.
Interestingly enough, I've successfully updated my devices to iOS 7.1.2 and to iOS8 GM without any issues at the same location but, of course, no two conditions are exactly the same -
Mid 2010 15" MBP i5 A1286 POWER ISSUE-PLEASE HELP-
The MBP works fine when mains connected but the only issue is every time I take the charger out it shuts down on me!!! So I have checked with a multitester & looks good the only thing i find hard to check for power is the battery itself as its hard to get a good connection, also I took to local Apple store & they checked with a new battery but said its still same issue so the guy disconnected nearly all the connecters off to check if they causing issue & he said now the battery is charging.
So they still have the laptop to do further tests etc, but I’m not sure what could be the problem hear as maybe there is some component which is bad so the battery’s not charging or what else could be the issue please help & advice as I’m really confused as if it was something to do with the logic board then surely it would not even charge even after checking with the multitester or like Apple genius done by disconnecting other components...

Alright, right after posting my question I figured it out. I plugged my iPod into one of the USB ports in the front of the MacPro and it worked like a charm. Now the problem is, what is wrong with the two ports in the back of my Apple Cinema HD screen? That I can't figure out clearly. The USB connection from it to the MacPro is connected.
