Itunes itouch and ipad

my itunes on a pc is asking to reinstall when I plug in my itouch and ipad, would rather not due to my large library, any suggestions?

What do you mean by: "my itunes on a pc is asking to reinstall"? Reinstall what? Reinstall iTunes on the PC? Reinstalling iTunes on the computer will not effect your iTunes library.

After upgeading to iTunes 10.7 on my PC with W7 x64 and IOS 6 on my iPhone 4s, I cannot backup. It says sesson cannot be started. Also cannot recognize apps on iPhone. Further, with WiFi and powered on, the device apperas briefly in iTunes then disappears. Same for iTouch and iPad with IOS 5. How do I resove this? More importantly, how does Apple resolve it? I had to have my PC wiped clean and the OS re-loaded. I thought I backed up everything on my iTouch and iPad correctly, but when I try to sync, I'm getting a message that if I continue with the sync, I will lose everything on my device. It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
- Restoring the iPod

When you connect your iTouch to iTunes, open the device by clicking on the iTough button on the left of the screen (do this after you've backed it up). Then when open, you can go into apps, music, photos, etc and check or uncheck whatever you want on your iTough. The same applies to your iPad. After backup, you open the device and check what you want on the iPad.

You can't sync from an iPod to an iPad (or vice versa). If the videos are not on your computer's iTunes then you can copy them from the iPod to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) and you can then sync them from your computer to your iPad (depending upon what country that you are in then you might also be able to re-download them directly on the iPad via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app).

How can I manage an Itunes library with an Itouch and Ipad?

What I mean is, my mom has an 8gb itouch, and a 32gb ipad. So I want to help her make cuts so all her music fits on the smaller itouch. So how would I go about doing this? Do I uncheck everything in her itunes library that I don't want synced? I tried doing this, but the amount of space it takes doesn't change no matter how many songs I uncheck. Am I doing this wrong?

Yes, but note that iPod Touch apps may not be ideal for an iPad. If they do not include support for the larger screen, your options are to either use the app in a little "window" in the middle of the iPad screen or blow up the app to full screen (which causes pretty bad pixellation). Some of your apps might already be iPad-ready, but others may not have an iPad-friendly version or may require you to spend more money to get the iPad-friendly version. Just something to be aware of.

When I open my email (all accts) the body of the email is blank. It won't even show you "download remaining" at the bottom of the email. My iTouch and iPad all work just fine.

Sometimes there is the word "loading" in the middle and then nothing. I have an iTouch and an iPad.... they both open my mail just fine. I have also compared the settings on all three and see nothing different. I have also synced and done a hard reset and still no email. Please anyone with some suggestions will be appreciated.

Itunes - iphone and ipad refusing to sync to pc - hangs at step 2 (iOS6)

I am having trouble syncing my iDevices (iphone and ipad) to my windows itunes. I have been syncing to this for years without problem. and since i upgraded to the dreaded ios6, it will not sync.
When i plug my device into my pc, it recognises it and it automatically begins to sync. At step 2 of the back up, it just hangs and the only way to stop it is remove the phone and close itunes from task manager.
this is not happening to my old iphone 3gs which runs ios 5.1.1
i doubt this is a problem with my pc as if it were no devices would sync. I have done a repair on itunes to be sure and i have also deleted and reinstalled the itunes. I am running the latest version 10.7.0.21. My apple product updater says i am running the latest version.
please could someone help? I have a long flight this weekend and i wanted my latest music on my iphone.!!!

Ok, so I re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed osx without realizing that I hadn't saved my songs and my aperture library file. At least i have my 10,000+photos on my external drives in a nice folder structure!
Here's the catch - I had all songs and apps on my iphone and ipad - when i upgraded to iOS5 on the phone, I lost it all becuase i had to re-sync the phone wiht the computer -
now i have all my songs and apps on the ipad, but I am still missing my purchased music content. I have a record of my purchases in the itunes store account section, but how can i get this stuff off the ipad and then sync to my computer/phone? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?
Okay mac geniuses and work-arounders, I need some good ideas -
I did download and use a program called Senuti to get my songs off the ipad, but for some reason it wouldn't copy the purchased content and woudln't copy the apps.

only weird thing - when i called applecare, they didn't mention this little tid-bit.

User name on iTouch and iPad

I have an iTOUCH that my wife plays Word with friends on, but now she wants to use the iPAD for the same game. How do I delete the user name that the iTOUCH uses so I can create the same user name on the iPAD?

Hi,
Connect the devices to your computer. Launch iTunes.
Under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window just click once on the device and type in a name.
You can rename the iPad and the itouch as needed.

ITunes Match and iPad syn

Quite a bit of an issue here...
After googling for a few hours, I am unable to fix my current issue. Hopefully someone with experience can assist with this one.
I have around 4k tracks in my iTunes library in ALAC format and loaded artwork etc. Firstly, when I synchorise with my iPad Air via USB cable (genuine), after the first 1GB or so, iTunes will randomly quit, and thus the process will stop. I have tried this many times and have completely restore Mavericks (Macbook 2009). The tracks are stored locally. Secondly, after turning on and paying for iTunes Match (as iTunes Radio has arrived down under), iTunes would quit. This normally occurs in Step 2 and around 500ish/ 4000ish tracks.
My best guest at the moment is that there is a track in my library that's causing the issue.
Without having to rebuild the entire libary from scratch, ie. saving the tracks onto an external HDD and then adding them slowly, and running iTunes Match after adding 200 or so tracks.... is there a way to figure out which track is the issue?
Any help here will be much appreicated.

With the ipad, there is a new music app that came with iOS 5.0x.   New GUI, etc. It also is buggy. I often have it crash and have to restart while playing music, scrolling etc.
With match, if you have a lot of songs (I had 13,000), it takes a long time when it is first turned on and the screen from what I recall was blank . Long time being 10-20 minutes if not longer until it is complete. For the first 10 minutes all I saw was the names of existing songs in the list (and they stayed since I matched them). Then it updated the list but had not art. And this was on a wifi N TimeCapsule with 30 down 5 up broadband connection. You should see the little circle going in the status bar next to the signal strength. As long as that is going, let it do its thing. Also, about half way thru you will see artists/albums start to list but no art Art seems to come last. It's best to just let it sit and do its thing.   The art eventually does come down.   iPhone 4s also took some time (like 10 minutes) but from what I recall was a little faster than the iPad 1.    Do this plugged into the charger.
Once it is complete, it works fine. Downloads fast, plays the songs etc. Some cover art goes missing at times for whatever reason but if your turn match off and on it comes back (and yes, it takes another 10-20 minutes to restart match - just leave it on).    I also get the typical music app crashes but I got those without match too. Hoepfully it will stabilize with the next release of iOS.

ITunes, AMDS and iPad make problems

I got some serious problem with iTunes, iPad, AMDS and Windows 7 64 bit. I first noticed it when I wanted to watch video. Due to a "cancelling sync..." message I was unable to watch video (and listen to music). Searching the web brought me the solution that all I should do was to force a re-sync of the iPad (i.e. delete a file).
But, then all the problems started. My iTunes does not "recognize" the iPad due to the Apple Mobile Device Service is not started. If I tries to start the service with the iPad connected a windows error message 1067 appears and I start the service without the iPad connected the service starts, but terminates instantly when the iPad is connected. The "canceling sync... " message is fixed, I connected the iPad to another PC, but I'm still not able to get the iPad and iTunes to work together on my own PC.
I followed this guide (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) but, it did not fix my problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes about five times, inclusive all apple programs such as QuickTime, Bonjour, etc. I even took a "screen dump" on the iPad as some suggests, tried a clean boot and reinstalled iTunes once more. I tried updating the USB driver as Apple suggests, but yet nothing seem help. I'm running out of ideas, and I'm not much up for re-installing windows.
Anyone who knows how to get my iPad/iTunes to work on my Windows 7 64 bit platform, without reinstalling W?

I went vacation and in the middle of this, in the hotel pc, i put my pictures on the ipad in order to empty my camera card. When I came back I`ve put the Ipad to sync with my home pc and the ipad deleted all the pictures. Is there a way to recover it? Before the delete process the Ipad made a backup with itunes, but I can`t find these pictures anywhere. Please help, this is really important to me.

Photos in the Camera Roll are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPad's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. The Camera Roll is not touched and can't be deleted with the iTunes sync process.
One way photos in the Camera Roll can be removed is by importing the photos with your computer as with any other digital camera followed by deleting the photos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete, but then the photos would be available on your computer. iTunes does not handle the import of photos from any digital camera including from the iPad's Camera Roll.
Another way is by restoring the iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from the iPad's backup.
Another way is by transferring the backup from another iPad to a new iPad the first time a new iPad is connected to iTunes on the computer used for syncing with another iPad.
None of the ways to remove photos from the Camera Roll involve syncing with iTunes only.
