Hello,
Just wanted to make sure you've also restarted the computer, in addition to restarting the iPod touch. For the time being, try to connect the iPod with the USB cable that came with it, and make sure it's being connected directly to the computer, and not through any external USB hubs or anything of the sort. Also, if you haven't tried this, try connecting the iPod to a different USB port.
Since installing Leopard, double check your Software Updates to make sure there's nothing else pending that you might need. (Just click on Software Update in your Apple menu).
If that hasn't worked it out, you might try reinstalling Apple Mobile Device Support, which is what allows the iPod touch to communicate with your computer and iTunes.
First, drag iTunes from your Applications folder to the Trash.
Then, delete these files:
(1) AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg located in: Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/
(2) AppleMobileDevice.kext located in: Macintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/
Restart your computer
Download and install iTunes again

  • ITunes 7.5 crashing after installing new iLife/Mac OS

After installing the new version of Mac OS X and iLife my iTunes has been crashing constantly. Initially everything was fie, but now everytime I try to play song from my iTunes library (in an external HD with over 10k songs in AAIF) or play a CD it crashes.
When I start iTunes, it plays fine the first song (or first couple of songs) but when a new song is about to start it stops, if click on play the color wheel starts spinning and I have to Force Quit. If I was playing anything from my external HD I have to restart the system as it becomes unresponsive.
I deleted everything iTunes and d/l it from the apple site, but the same things happens.
Do you think this is software related or could be something wrong with my Mac? Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm having the very same problem using OSX 10.4.10 and iTunes 7.5.
It plays back several songs and then hangs on the third one consistently.
If I import the cd instead it'll play back all tracks with no problem
as it imports . I've tried an external cd player with the same results (problem)
This must be a bug in iTunes 7.5... and a most irritating one at that !!!

  • Itunes 7.5 will not install. Apple store tried but could not fix

Itunes was working perfectly until I downloaded version 7.5. It will not complete the install. I get a message to make sure that I have access to \itunes\itune.resources\de.lproj\appletv help.chm
I cannot find this file and a search says the Directory does not exist.
The Apple store worked on this for about two hours with no resoultion other than they thought it might be a Windows Problem. I tried to download 7.5 again and had the same result.
In the meantime I cannot get into itunes because it tries to install 7.5 when started.
    Any suggestions?

I have tried everything has well. I uninstalled itunes & quicktime. I was able to reinstall quicktime using a link in one of the other discussions but i cannot get itunes to download. I am so disappointed & disgusted with itunes and apple that I not sure I want to even buy another apple product again. There has to a way to download an older version of itunes to get it running again.

  • Contact iTunes Store Support error when creating new apple ID

This is for a business.  We currently have a combination of over 150 ipads and iphones and will be adding another 20+ per month.
I am currently setting a quantity of ipads up for employees and preconfiguring them with their own itunes account.  In this batch, I was able to set up the first 7 with no problems.  On number 8 I keep hitting a roadblock with the message "Contact iTunes Store Support to complete this transaction". when I try to Create the Apple ID.  I have had this problem before when I hit a limit (although I don't know what that number of ID's was).
These accounts do not have a credit card associated with them.  To create them I am going through the route of being in iTunes with no user logged in.  I go to the App Store and search for iBooks.  Then try to purchase it which pops up the login/create account screen.  I go through the screens adding the email address, password, security questions on the first data page.  Then add none for payment options and add the address.  When I click Create Apple ID I get that error message in the upper right corner.
On all of these accounts I am creating them with the same security questions, address and phone number.  These devices are all based out of the same office so the address and phone numbers will be the same.  I keep the security questions the same as it would be a nightmare tracking all of the different variations for hundreds of accounts.  The only thing different between them is the username/email and the password.
It would be really nice if Apple gave a way to create apple ID's for business purposes in bulk instead of creating them one at a time.  I will be setting up 20 new ipads per month for at least the next year.

Looks like I may have found a work around solution to this problem.  It appears that there is a flag or something on the computer that is not allowing me to create more ID's on that computer.  As of this morning I was still unable to create any more ID's from that system.
I tried creating the same ID on another computer and was able to with no problems.
This does lead to a problem as I am setting up 20+ new ID's a month and typically work from one computer to do so.
I really wish that Apple provided a way for companies to create new Apple ID's in groups using a batch process instead of creating them one at a time.  Or at least allowed you to create a new Apple ID with no credit card associated during the configuration process of the ipads.

  • I accidentally delete my old itunes and I can not install new itunes

I accidentally delete my old itunes and i can not insttall new Itunes

I browsed around here and I found that if I hold shift while opening iTunes and it asks what library to load so my real question then is where is my "old" library that I want to load? The only library I can find is my current one.

  • I want to install new Apple TV which can receive iTunes media stored in a NAS device connected to my router.  I would like to use both a PC and a Mac to manage this.  Is that possible?

I guess the real question is can a single drive in the NAS be shared by both a PC and a Mac.  I plan to access the network from both the PC and mac wrelessly but will ust CAT5 between Apple TV and router.

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

  • Itunes error 7 Unable to install new version of Itunes on Windows 7

I am stumped. Have tried to install the latest iTunes download on my PC (Windows7), have tried everything to get it to work. Uninstalled all Apple programs, disabled my anti-virus... so frustrating! Have been trying for a few hours and do not know what to do.
It looks like there is an error with the iTunesHelper

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • Is it possible to install new Keynote v6 ALONGSIDE Keynote '09?

Anyone know if it's possible not to update the existing copy of Keynote on your Mac and simply have the two versions run independently. I do this on a PC with Powerpoint. I have 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013 all running independently and would like the option to do the same with Keynote after hearing the horror stories of how the new version is a backward step!

    Hi Carole
If you install your old version of Keynote 09 from disc first before 'upgrading' (downloading v6 from the Mac App Store) you should be fine. I have now 'upgraded' all of iWork '09 on my iMac (not yet on the Air until it's fully tested) and all seems to be showing as side by side installs in each case. The new v6 in every case seems to be treated as a seperate programme rather than overwriting the old version.
Just remember that if you open a Keynote doc in v6 it may well corrupt it from it's original operating state from '09 (v5.3). Particularly important if you make use of a simple double click on a file to auto open it as it defaults to the newer version of the app. So BE CAREFUL!
    Good luck!

  • ITunes KEEPS saying 'welcome/register your NEW Apple TV'

For some reason, after no problems, now EVERY TIME I open itunes and click on the apple TV, it tells me 'welcome' and 'Register'!
Once I click Continue, it's fine, and all content is there, AND sync works. But it's really annoying.
I have reset the apple TV and done it all from scratch, even changed the name, but it remains - so the issue has to be with iTunes (where I also removed it prior to starting from scratch) or the iTunes store?
    Any suggestions appreciated !!
    Thx,
    dan

    thanks for the tip.
    went to
    https://register.apple.com
    and filled in the form.
this morning when I turned on iTunes it asked again if I'd like to register. Except this time it actually went to the registration form. Again filled in all the stuff and PRESTO! all works like a charm without the annoying register question popping up every time I switch on iTunes.
    Thanks Winston!

  • My old Apple ID won't allow me to use the old password to log out of the cloud. I can't use the new one, either. The new Apple ID is in the iTunes and App store. But I can't change it on the cloud without logging out. Which I can't do.

I can't use the old Apple id and Apple password on my new Iphone 6 - I can use the new ones. But I can't access the cloud in the meantime. The iTunes and App Stire has the new Apple ID, but I can't get into the settings to change it on the iCloud. It asks for the Old Apple ID and password, which doesn't work. Does anyone know how to change the old Apple ID on the iPhone in the settings for the iCloud?

First, try the new password.  If you didn't sign out of iCloud prior to changing the primary email address of your Apple ID, this is what can cause this problem.
Also, read this: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support

  • Is it possible to use several Apple TV in the same home network?

I´ve got the latest Apple TV (ver 2) and I´m impressed of it´s Airplay function. Is it possible to install an Apple TV in several different rooms of your home, each connected to a separate sound- and/or TV system of that room for playing the same or different music- or picture source from for example an iPhone, iPad or MacBookPro at the same time wireless in each room? Does your home network and Airplay system identify each connected Apple TV as an unique entity?

Yes, multiple Apple TV's in the same home work well (assuming your home network has enough bandwidth), you will need to give each one it's own name for identification (we have 6 Apple TV's here-3 new ones and 3 older versions)

  • Install new softwares in mac mini?

    Hello,
I am planning to buy a new mac mini, is it possible to install new softwares in that or should I have to go for Apple USB SuperDrive? Please guide me through ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Anand Ganesan

An update for all those who want to use an old Mac Mini's optical disc drive in a new Mac Mini, which has no disc drive. It WILL NOT work with a firewire connection. The old mini does work as an OPTICAL DRIVE ONLY if you connect it to the new one via USB cable (male to male). It will work both as an OPTICAL DRIVE and an EXTERNAL HD if you connect it to the new mini on an Ethernet network (this through my DSL modem which has three Ethernet ports) or by WiFi. If you keep an OSX system on the old mini you can also use any old apps on that computer via screen sharing on the new one. Hope this helps all who had my problem.
