ITunes just asked me to authorize my computer...but it's already authorized

I synced my iPod Classic this morning. As soon as I did, a pop-up said that unless I authorize the computer it would delete all the movies on my player. I went ahead and did it. Then it said I now have authorized 2 computers and have a few left remaining.
Why did it do this?
A few days ago I finally upgraded from version 7.7.1 to 9.0.3 - could this have something to do with it?

I had the same thing happen on my mac when I first updated to itunes 9.
I just deauthorized it twice:

Then re-authorized it.

  • HT1420 I downloaded my first video from iTunes store. when I went to play it, iTunes asked me to authorize the computer. It is already authorized! Now it shows 2 computers authorized when I am only using one computer for my iTunes music and videos. ???

I downloaded my first purchased movie from the iTunes store. When I tried to play it., I was asked to authorize the computer. I had already authorized the computer to play music, so I thought this was the only authorization I needed. i went ahead and authorized my computer, Now it shows that I have 2 authorized computers! I don't understand. Shouldn't one authorization be enough?

    Hmm,
This is not a big problem as you can have up to five authorised devices.
However, if this is a problem you can go to Store, View my Account,
    Deauthorize All
Then you will have to authorize your computer again.
Hopefully the number will stay as 1.

  • My iPad won't sync. It says I need to authorize my iPad but it is already authorized.

Been having issues getting tv episodes to appear on my iPad. Once I try to sync, a message says I need to authorize the computer, but I have already done this. I am stumped as to what to do. Btw, my episodes appear on my pc.

Here is an Apple kb article that talks about the issue that you are experiencing - the repeated request for authorization. Maybe you can find something in here that will work.

The one other thing that I noticed as I quickly scanned this article - are you logged into your PC as the administrator of the PC? Sometimes that can be a problem.
Maybe you can find something in here that will help.

Have you tried to download one of the shows directly to the iPad? If you are in the U.S. you can download the shows again for free - go the the purchased tab of iTunes and download them in there. Perhaps if you download one directly to the iPad - it will open the "unauthorized" channel and allow you to sync them from iTunes again.

  • ITunes asks me to authorize my computer but after I do, when syncing my iPhone, it wants me to authorize the computer

I want to sync my stuff on iTunes from my iPhone 4S, (iOS version 7.0.4) but it wants me to authorize my computer. I did that and it said this computer is already authorized. When I try to sync the iPhone again, it said the computer is no longer authorized for purchaced items that are in this iPhone. It proceeds to intruct me on how to authorize the computer. I authorized the computer 7 times and the error shows up all the time. I even restarted iTunes (losing what I edited) and it still did not work. Why?

  • TS1389 I've tried all four suggestions and the problem still persists. On one song only, iTunes still asks me to authorize my computer, and I don't know why. What can I do to make it stop and let me listen to my song?

The song is "Invictus" by Lamb Of God. Nothing has worked so far and it's a little frustating. :/

I'm having this same issue as well even though my PC is already authorized and after trying the 4 suggested fixes with an Audiotrack that I purchased today...Beth Moore - Esther Series - Session 2 - Part 4.
It's also not allowing me to put the track on my iPod even though other files on the same album go on just fine.  It's giving me an error stating that it's an "invalid file format".
    Help us out please! ^_^

  • IPhone 4s won't sync to itunes saying I have to authorize my PC when it's already authorized.

I bought a used iPhone 4s and I haven't synced my phone to iTunes since i bought it and i was trying to do so yesterday and it kept telling me that I can't sync my phone because of some purchases on the phone and that i have to authorize my computer to be able to sync it but my laptop is already authorized.
    P.S.
    - the technician restored my phone and used a different apple ID to set it up but I signed out from it and used mine as soon as I got my phone and I kept some apps from that apple ID on my phone.
    - also, I updated my phone to 7.0.3 just recently (I dunnot if this is happening because of these two things)

    Rome,
I would try everything that "Diesel" has suggested !!!
I had the same problem after updating to iOS 5.1. I was never able to fix it. I did however find a work around and that was to delete the offending Wi-Fi configuration and then under "Other" manually add back my Wi-Fi connection. This solved the auto re-connect problem. I don't think this is a fix but a pretty darn good work-around.
I talked to Apple about this problem while arranging for a replacement phone (for another problem) and the Technician seemed to be aware of this quirk and suggested that my fix was about the best I could expect.
HOWEVER - when I received my replacement phone not only did the problem that I exchanged the phone for now function correctly but the "Auto-reconnect" of the Wi-Fi worked as expected and as it did prior to the iOS 5.1 update.
    Go-Figure !!!

  • Why when i try to play four songs i have downloaded i keep getting the notice that i have to authorize my computer though it is already authorized?

when ever i try to select one of four songs by the backstreet boys i am asked to authorize my computer by putting in my ID and password which i do but the songs won't play even though my computer is already authorized to play itunes songs. i don't have trouble with any other songs except four out of 12 songs on the album i downloaded. all the rest play without any trouble but not All I have to Give,I'll never break your heart,Set adrift on memory bliss, and Anywhere for you. these songs keep asking for my to authorize my computer to play these songs but as i said my computer is already authorized. please do something about this continues problem.

Delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

    Hello Kuldip13,
It sounds like iTunes keeps asking you to authorize the computer. If you have already tried all the steps within the article you came from:
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
I would next check to see if the same Apple ID is signed into, that was used to play these purchases with this article:
Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1920
    Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
