ITunes just wont quit!
Hey yall.. Im having this really annoying problem thats a pain in the @$$. I try to quit iTunes as normal, iTunes --> Quit and after maybe 5 seconds it starts right up again! I also noticed that on the dock the little triangle next to the iTunes flickers off for a milisecond and then iTunes reopens. It often takes me quite a few tries (up to 10 or 15) to get it to quit completely.
i tried to quit from the dock and i even tried quitting and killing the app from Activity monitor and the terminal. This only started happening after I updated to iTunes 5.0. It justs insists on staying open!
Is anyone else having this problem?
Please help!
-Alex
Alex hello,
You have something running that wants to access iTunes ... turn that off 1st and then quit... activity monitor will show active processes... terminal line top -u also
likely candidates are iTunes widget from dashboard, konfabulators, plug-ins, other programs and scripts etc.
take care Alex .... TP

Itunes just wont detect my new ipod nano
my window xp just wont detect my ipod neither will itunes , i had an ipod shuffle before would this be causing the problem??? plzzzzzzzzzz sum1 help
Now, let's try assigning your shuffle a different drive letter.
Disconnecting your new nano, proceed with these steps:
1 - Don't plug in your Shuffle yet.
2 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
3 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
4 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, connect your iPod to the computer.
5 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).
For more details, see this Support article: Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive
Then, disconnect your shuffle, and reconnect your nano to your computer.
Is it now recognized in My Computer, iTunes, etc. or not?

Soon after loading v 5.0.1, my computer stopped being able to open up iTunes. I get a message offering to send an error report to MS, but nothing else happens.
I have Norton AV installed, and I think I upgraded recently, too, and I wonder if that creates a conflict.
To solve the problem, I have reinstalled several times, both online and from the disk that came with my iPod, and I have system-restored several times as well.
Any info to help?I actually fixed it using the advice from a post back in August or September. I used keywords 'wont start' and found a post telling me to uninstall itunes, then QT, then take out 4 files from windows 32, then to reinstall. The only problem is that un-installing dumped the entire music library, which I'm slowly restoring from the 'my music' library (which I did not delete.)
Anyone know if this step can be avoided???? -
neeed some help pleaseeee!
iOS devices require iOS 6. It is kind of misleading for Apple to be advertising those features right now but they will be there when iOS 6 is released.

Itunes wont launch, no error message, no blue screens, just wont open
itunes wont launch, i get no error message, no blue screen, it just wont open. I've tried to delete and reinstall, but once i close itunes i still have same issue. it wont open again.
I have same problem on my XP lap top and Windows 7 PC. Apple have been investigating this problem for me for a week now without success so far. Understand it 's ongoing with other customers as well.
It is caused by an bit of program called APSDaemon supplied by Apple in latest i-Tunes. Your quick fix to enable you to open i-Tunes again is as follows:- open Task Manager (right click bottom toolbar), click on Task Manager, select Processes. Find APSDaemon, highlight and press END PROCESS. I-tunes will now re-open ok. You have to repeat this every time you want i-Tunes re-opened until you switchoff or restart.
A pain I know, but lets you keep going until Apple repair and release an update for i-Tunes -

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Please help
Hello there, HockeyMomClearLake.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some troubleshooting steps for your issue:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Particularly:
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

there’s a glitch somewhere. iphoto just wont open. upgraded to yosemite and downloaded iPhoto upgrader and it doesn’t work, just keeps telling me to upgrade when I did already or quit, so no way to do photos on this brand new mac. that’s a pity!!
You need to have iPhoto 11 v9.6 (which you can get from the App Store) to use iPhoto on Yosemite. If you already have iPhoto 11 then the update is free. Otherwise it's a purchase.

i just bought my ipod touch 32mg, i cannt get it to start up. when i get to the screen connect to itunes it wont let me go to any other screen to finish setting it up.
You need to use a laptop or a PC. Download and install iTunes. Create an iTunes account and then use the USB cable to connect your iPod to your computer.
Depending on the amount of charge in the battery it may take a few minutes for iTunes and your computer to recognize the iPod.
When iTunes detects your iPod you can give it a name and set up how and what you want iTunes to synch to the iPod.
While you're on line, connecte to the App Store and download the owners manual for your iPod... -
My itunes just pinwheels forever and never loads. I have tried force quitting it and retarting my computer. How can I fix this ASAP please?
had similar issues with my macbook(2010 running lion) and after a few restarts it would not restart anymore and is at the service center since saturday. i would suggest you do not use iTunes until this issue is addressed. seems to be macbooks that are having freeze up issues.

Why only public methods in interfaces?
