ITunes keeps asking for licensing agreement in windows 7

After upgrading to iTunes 11 some months ago I have had to live with a really annoying 'feature'.
iTunes keeps resetting itself, therefore I have to Accept the License Agreement window, then select the Menu Bar, then select Show Side Bar, the select Show Status Bar, then Edit Preferences to check the checkbox to prevent devcies from automatically syncing, then set my mini player window settings, then sign in to Apple Store, then for each device I have to set the Sync Info setting (calendars, Notes, bookmarks, contacts etc).
It's totally random, ie sometiems I can go for a few days before I have to do it again, sometimes it will do it during the same day if I open, close and then reopen iTunes.
I have reported this to Apple Support a couple of times now but all they say is that they have never headr of this before, which I find surprising as a simple search on Google has thousands of moany people like me who are not happy having to keep entering the same flaming information time after time after time again.
I have tried suggested fixes like uninstall, clean registry, get iTunes to rebuild the preferences file, set up a different user account, blah, blah, blah. I've tried Apple Forums, Windows forums, but nope, no fix that actually seems to work.
Come on Apple, surely you can store library preference information in a simple %CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA% folder. I'm just a lowly developer but I'v e managed to work this out for my applications!
Surely someone must know how to resolve this.
It's really, really, really annoying!

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

    When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

    I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
    They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
    Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
    So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.

    i have followed the suggested methods of restoring my iphone by placing it into recovory mode, however itunes keeps asking for a response from my iphone except it is disabled and thus the restoration willnot continue

    There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
    Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

    In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • What can I do, iPad disabled/lockout and iTunes keeps asking for password, I cannot restore...iTunes grays out backup and restore but my iPad and iPod shows on Apple etc..

    What can I do, iPad disabled/lockout and iTunes keeps asking for password, I cannot restore...iTunes grays out backup and restore but my iPad and iPod shows on Apple etc..???

    Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
    Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • ITunes keeps asking for a disk while I am trying to uninstall

    I am trying to uninstall iTunes so that I can reinstall it.  However, it keeps asking for a disk.  Also I have tried to use Windows Cleanup Utility 7.2, but get an error when I attempt to run it.  I think I may have started uninstalling the components in the wrong order.  Any help is appreciated.  I am using Windows 8.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    If you cannot get a component to uninstall properly move on to the next one, then delete the named folder. The reinstall should be successful.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Office mac keeps asking for license key with fusion drive

    I'm posting this in case anyone else is having this trouble where Office for Mac 2011 keeps asking for the license key. I have a later 2013 iMac with Fusion drive and never have been able to use office on this computer without entering the key. In talking with Microsoft they removed office and all the files and reinstalled with no help. In speaking with Apple, they said there is a known issue with Microsoft Office and the Fusion drive and Microsoft is working on a patch. Evidently the fusion drive moves the files around and to Microsoft that looks like new hardware so it prompts for the key. Realy annoying! Microsoft

    I'm a certified Apple consultant and I recently hit this issue at an installation. On seven iMacs with the Fusion drive, I deleted the "Thunderbolt Bridge" interface from the Network System Preference. We then rebooted the computers, entered the product key one more time, and so far, the problem has disappeared and survives subsequent rebootings.
    Obviously, if you are frequently networking two Macs using Thunderbolt, this isn't a good long-term solution (though it is easily added back). However, it does appear to work. I have no sound theory as to why it works, except that Office might be interpreting the existence of that bridge as evidence that the software was copied onto a machine instead of properly installed. This is just a wild guess, though.
    I have no idea if it will work for others, but hey, the forums are for throwing out these ideas and seeing if one of them sticks for most people. So...there it is.

  • ITunes keeps asking for authorization and won't close

    I have been having trouble with iTunes ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  iTunes will open and repeatedly ask for authorization.  I've tried resetting the authorization, using terminal to do it, deleting folders, etc.  I would like to try and uninstall iTunes, but I cannot get iTunes to close. Not even force quit will cause it to stay closed long enough to delete it and reinstall it.  Then there's the problem where it appears to have lost my library completely...which may be part of this issue or a separate issue.  Considering it started at the same time, I'm guessing it's just another facet of the issue.  I'd love to just reinstall iTunes, but I can't get it to not open and/or close.  I am about ready to throw the MacBook in the garbage, because this is the sort of problems I expect with Windows, not Apple.  Any ideas would be appreciated to save my laptop and sanity.

    here is the fix..it worked for me

  • ITunes keep asking for credentials

    Hi all, I have an IronPort S170, with latest version and updates.
    We have a lot of users using itunes to sync Apple devices, the problem is that it allways asks for user & password, several times (really annoying). Can anybody help me solving this issue?
    thanks a lot
    Best regards.

    HI Gonzalo,
    I assume you're using NTLM SSO. Pending on you configuration this auth popup is created due inability to authenticate via NTLM for the specific request. It seems there are currently known problems with iTunes and NTLM auth. I found records on apple support communitate reporting version 1.6 of iTunes no longer being able to proper authenticate via NTLM. As workaround you could use e.g. IP surrogates which will keep the users IP authenticated once the first request has been authenticated, e.g. via Internet Explorer. By this iTunes will not require to authenticate again. Also your Domain Controller will be happy to have less auth request.

  • ITunes keeps asking for my password

    First, it's important to note that what I'm about to describe is happening only in my MacBook Pro account, not on my iMac account; nor is it happening on my wife's MBP account, nor on her iMac account.  In other words, it's highly probable that some (inadvertent) action of mine has actually enabled this annoying 'feature' of iTunes.  I just can't figure out what I can do to stop it.
    The Problem:
    For the past couple weeks, the iTunes application on my MacBook Pro has been displaying (intermittently) an alert to notify me that I need to enter my User Name (supplied) and Password (which I must enter manually) so that it can continue to make "authorized downloads."  Interestingly, iTunes displays this notice irrespective of whether the application is even running at the time.   I understand that iTunes may need to check in periodically (in the background) with the Apple Store, but I can't figure out why it is no longer able to do this without my authorization every single time.  Here are the steps I've tried so far, to no avail:
    a.  iTunes Preferences > General > Check for new software updates automatically (turned off);
    b.  iTunes Preferences > Store > Always check for available downloads (turned off);
    c.  iTunes Preferences > Store > Automatically download pre-orders when available (turned off);
    d.  I have signed out of the Store, Quit iTunes and Logged out.  Then I logged back in, opened iTunes and Signed In to my account again;
    e.  I have selected iTunes > Store > View My Account and turned OFF "Recommendations and Ping Posting;"
    f.   I have selected iTunes > Store > View My Account and clicked the button to "Reset all warnings for buying and downloading;"
    g.  In the very alert containing my User Name and Password I have checked the box beside "Remember Password;"
    h.  About 10 minutes ago, I opened iTunes Preferences and in the Advanced pane, I clicked on the Reset warnings button beside "Reset all dialog warnings." If this most recent effort finally does the trick — I won't know for sure until several more hours elapse — I promise to log in to let everyone know.

    UPDATE 2:  As promised, I am writing to let everyone know that I believe that I finally may have resolved this problem.  The procedure that seems to have resolved the issue on my computer was one that another user, Mandoskier,  reports having resolved the same problem on his computer (https://discussions.apple.com/message/17276790#17276790), in which he reported the following:  "This problem was solved for me by trashing "com.apple.iTunes.plist" from userid/Library/Preferences folder and repairing disk permissions."
    I trashed that file two days ago, and also repaired disk permissions (using Disk Utility) and iTunes hasn’t once asked for my password!
    May not work for everyone, but it’s worth a try if you haven’t yet given this recommendation a shot.  Good luck, all.
