ITunes keeps getting stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied"

The problem started last night, I can't sync music from my iTunes onto my 5th Gen iPod Touch. I follow the normal steps and it goes through the first 4 ok I persume.
When it gets to the 5th step, which is "waiting for changes to be applied" it spends ages loading, but then doesn't want complete the sync and the music I want isn't on my iPod Touch.
I just want some answers as to why this is happening and what can be done to solve this.
I'm on version iOS 7.0.3 on my iPod I believe and my iTunes and iTunes 11.1.2.32
I beleive these are the up to date versions of both, could it possibly be a glitch in the update process? Help please. Thank you.

Hi, I just bought an iTouch 5 only 2 months ago and I'm having trouble because it won't sync my music. It keeps getting stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied." I have over 3000 songs and I have several playlists, it wouldn't sync all at once so I tried syncing it by playlist. It worked for a few songs and every time I add more, it just gets stuck. I've been trying to solve this for weeks now and it's stressing me out. I've read the stuff in this forum and I've tried people's solutions but I still haven't solved this problem.

ITunes sync getting stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" with the latest iTunes 11.4.0.18 and ipad2

Downgraded to ios 7.1.2 after ios 8 disaster. Now iTunes 11.0.4.18 and windows 7 and my ipad2 will not sync. I received an error message that the sync failed to finish. I have lost all my apps I think but that is another problem. Why won't my pad sync?

Yes, my iPhone 5 running ios 7 will not sync in *any* way with itunes now. I can neither add nor remove content via itunes. I just tried to delete 100% of my music from my iphone, it hung forever on "Waiting for changes to be applied" and then when it was finally done... no changes had been applied.
I can't add, remove, change, delete or in any way of any kind sync my iphone with itunes any longer.
I'm becoming the person who refuses to update to the new Apple OS. I used to get very excited about new OS updates. That all ended around Mountain Lion. If everything is working OK, I believe it simply means that the iPad and iTunes are communicating and that any changes that you made to the sync configuration are waiting to go through. If you updated apps on the iPad and they get transferred into iTunes or if you download new songs onto the iPad and they are being transferred into iTunes, any app data that moves back and forth - those would be changes that need to be applied.
If you can't finish the sync and that's why you are asking, can you provide more specific details?

Using the latest version of iTunes and iOS5 on my iPhone. Backup of the iphone seems to work fine. My old PC died and I want to transfer my apps to my new PC. Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks back when I switched computers and migrated. Here's what worked on my iMac, so maybe it'll work on your iPad, too. Go to User(your home folder)/Music. Select/highlight your "Music" folder. Then do Command-I ("Get Info" from the File menu), click on the padlock icon in the lower right of the new window. Enter your user password. Click on your username just above the now-open padlock. Select "Read & Write" if it's on "Read Only," "Write Only," or "No Access." Now having your user account with "Read & Write" privileges (it may have been this way already; still do this next step), click on the gear on the bottom-center of that window. Click on "Apply to all enclosed items." When the pop-up says "Are you sure?" (or the equivalent), say "yes." This will grant access privileges to your user account for all the music files inside your music folder--all your iTunes stuff included). Then you should be good to go.

How can I get my iPod to sync properly when it gets stuck on 'waiting for changes to be applied' during syncing

My iPod gets stuck at this point every single time I sync it and it will not sync again unless I factory reset it. It also will not sync on Wifi because apparently it is 'waiting for "HP"' (is that my HP laptop? Who knows...). I am syncing on a Windows 8 laptop (since having Windows 8, I have had this issue). Google hasn't provided me with any answers.

I too had a similar problem and an "error" message (waiting for changes to be applied)
- my thoughts were:
Something to do with update to IOS 7.4
Corruption
Itunes software issue
After a LOT of research, I found a simple step that solved this issue for me.
I had been running my sync (pre - IOS 7.4) as automatic - see the options section under the summary tab
This can be viewed when you click on your device - right up the top you'll see tabs
SUMMARY / INFO / APPS / TONES / MUSIC / MOVIES / TV SHOWS / BOOKS / PHOTOS etc.
I changed my selection to manually manage music and videos and tried another sync
Wha La!
It began to copy over 700 songs that had not properly synced to my Ipad 2
BONUS: it then started to sync my videos again.
Hope this helps somebody.
It certainly made my life less frustrating
Downside: I have to MANUALLY manage - but it's better than all the hassles
NB: I don't know why this error occurs and I'm not sure this fix will work for everyone's issues but it can't hurt.

I have had this problem and I hope this works (it did for me and I also had an iPhone 4S - 7.1.2)
1) Plug your iPhone in to iTunes.
2) If it automatically starts syncing click the 'X' to cancel the sync as quickly as you can.
3) Once the Sync has cancelled, navigate to:
'File' > 'Devices' > 'Transfer purchases from "_______ iPhone"
4) Wait for Purchases to transfer.
5) Update Apps on iTunes.
6) Wait for that to finish.
7) Try and Sync again.
8) This time it should work.
----CONTINUE READING IF THIS DOESN'T WORK----
9) Click 'Restore iPhone'
10) Let iPhone restore (could take 20 minutes)
11) Set up as a 'New iPhone' and sync your music.
----OTHER THINGS TO CHECK BEFORE YOU RESTORE----
1) Is your iPhone running the latest software version?
2) Is your iTunes running the latest software version?
3) Are your songs in an unsupported File format?
4) Are your songs corrupted?
5) Have you transferred purchases and updated all apps on iTunes?
-----OTHER THINGS YOU COULD DO-----
1) Re-install iTunes (could work - probably won't but you can give it a try)
2) Delete all music off phone (again probably won't work but you could give it a try)
3) Re-start your phone by holding the 'Home/Touch ID' button and the lock button at the same time and hold until the Apple logo appears.
----NOTES-----
Since updating to iOS 8 and iTunes 12 I haven't had this problem. You might want to update to iOS 8.1 and iTunes 12 - this could solve the problem too.

IPhone 6 stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" when syncing.

I got a new iPhone 6 a few days ago and I put everything onto it (music, photos, contacts, etc) with no problem from a previous iPhone backup. This morning I tried to sync my phone with iTunes and while the music is listed on the music app on the phone, NONE of it will play and every track has the square with a circle around it that shows its download progress while syncing.
Why is this happening and how do I fix it? All I want is my entire library on my phone but it won't sync. (Also I should have plenty of room on my phone, I got the 128 GB and only have ~30 GB of music) Now on the status bar it says I have 30 GB of music and 30 GB of "other," but none of my songs will play. Also iTunes will get stuck on "Waiting For Changes to Be Applied" and won't finish syncing.
I'm syncing a new iPhone 6 128 GB running 8.1.2 with a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.1.
Any help fixing this problem via link or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What do I need to do to correct this?

If you right click on the iPhone's icon on the left of the iTunes display, you should be able to find an option to eject your iPhone. Then connect it and start the sync again.

Hello guys,
I put a handful of CDs on my computer recently and I do want them on my iPod. Unfortunately, in the last two times I have tried, the bar simply gets stuck on "Waiting for changes to be applied". It will not budge nor go any further.
I'm running iOS 5.1.1 on my iPod touch 4, and I also have quite an extensive library to my definition. This has never been an issue, though.

And now the good news is : THere is no song left on my iPad > Nothing I lost everything.
It have looked in this blog, it seems that people have been suffering on this issue for months and months.
I was about to buy the iPhone6...but frankly, Apple products =yncing is becoming a nightmare.
please APPLE do sometihng about, fix it NOW if you want people to purchase your products. The very reason why Apple WAS so successful was because of the simplicity. All this is gone now. Now you need to become an IT expert and spend hours getting into the systems to fix this or that yourself.
Please apple DO SOMETHING NOW QUICK.

IOS 7 stuck on waiting for changes to be applied

ever since iOS 7, my phone won't sync with iTunes. I've updated my iTunes but it is stuck on 'waiting for changes to be applied'. People suggested unchecking the sync music box then rechecking. I did that but it didn't help. I now have no music and it will not go back on
